The Way To A Man's Heart

We ALL know that men
love a good home cooked
meal, don't we?
Men love to eat.
Never mind that they gobble
it down in 1/10 the time it
took you to prepare it.
Never mind that the only
accolade you get is..
Ummmm...good, Honey.
And let's hope he remembers
to add the
HONEY!

AND
If you are NOT a good cook
you better be good at
SOMETHING,
if you get my drift.

Well, thanks to the
Good Lord,
I am a pretty fair cook,
if I do say so myself.
And, I like to cook for
people that like to eat.
If you are one of those
salad-picking, no sauce,
no butter, no cheese
people you can go to
a fine restaurant
cuz I'm not feeding you...
got it?

After packing away all the
Christmas stuff the
house is looking a little
bare...and cool.
What better way to warm it up than
with a
Chicken Pot Pie?
Thanks for the offer,
Marie Callender, but
I'll make my own.
I did cheat on the crust.
Maybe I shouldn't tell you that
but I don't want y'all thinking
I am
Superwoman.

So, we got this from
I  cut up and cooked the chicken breast
and I sauteed the onions and celery
in good old Wisconsin butter.
And once all the ingredients
were put together I put it into
a pastry lined glass baking dish..
I put the top crust on
and used a cookie cutter to
form a perfect heart,
which also gave me
air vents.
I brushed the top with beaten egg..
And baked until
Golden Brown..
Oh Baby, Baby, Baby...
Ain't she purty?

Pair it with a little heart
Add a little romantic floral piece...

DRAT-
I forgot to light the candles!!!!

Anyway-
Let me just tell you...
MyHero is one happy man.
Happy men make good companions.
And, they are much more inclined
to give you little surprises.
Like a special valentine....

Ummmmmm..
Hmmmmmm....
Do you think I could just have
CASH instead?

Just sayin......

Just as I was salivating over that devine looking chicken pot pie, you show me the picture of that man/homosapien looking creature? and my appetite is GONE GONE GONE..lol. I loooooove chicken pot pie and have never done a homemade version which is a shocker since I love to cook. You bet I am taking down the recipe, the perfect comfort food for the cold months!
Have a great day....

Homemade chicken pot pie is the best. And yes, I certainly would go for the cash.

You know what, I'm going to be a copy cat!

I haven't fixed one in a long time and that looks pretty darn good! My Granny told me when I was a young woman, the best compliment to a good cook is to use the recipe they cooked for you Figure since we live so far from each other, and you would have had us all for dinner if you could have, this is kind of the same thing, you think? Me to! OK - It's now on my menu for next week!

Thanks for sharing, Diana! I needed a change!

Have a great Wednesday!
Blessings,
Donna

OK Diana,
Everything was good until you grossed me out with that hairy Valentine.Yuck!
The pot pie looks and sounds like the perfect cold weather day meal. And I'm with you all the way with buying the crust. DH isn't getting this today, I think this should be saved for that day when I making a special request. A good meal always goes a long way then-if you know what I mean.

OMG!! This looks fabulous and I wish I could just smell it! Okay...have a big bite! I have those pie crusts in my fridge, I was going to make a pie until someone ate all the apples. Don't be surprised if I make it, too. Love the little heart in the middle!

Jane

LOL! You are so funny! The hairy valentine kinda made me lose my appetite but I do like pot pie! :-) We make a lot of it at our house too (good way to get veggies in the kiddos) but I love the addition of the little heart and may have to do that one next time. I just made a ham pot pie a few weeks ago and it was super yummy too!

You absolutely crack me up! I was getting all hungry and excited about that chicken pot pie and the butter and the cute little heart and then I saw that hairy man photo and my appetitie went right out the window! I think in that case, cash is your best option. Yuck.

I'd take a quarter over that guy! Euww.
The pot pie, however, looks delicious!

My DH loves chicken pot pies, but I don't. So I think I will try this. Can I use chicken broth instead of the turkey broth?
