We ALL know that men
love a good home cooked
meal, don't we?
Men love to eat.
Never mind that they gobble
it down in 1/10 the time it
took you to prepare it.
Never mind that the only
Never mind that the only
accolade you get is..
Ummmm...good, Honey.
And let's hope he remembers
to add the
HONEY!
AND
If you are NOT a good cook
you better be good at
SOMETHING,
if you get my drift.
Well, thanks to the
Good Lord,
I am a pretty fair cook,
if I do say so myself.
And, I like to cook for
people that like to eat.
If you are one of those
salad-picking, no sauce,
no butter, no cheese
people you can go to
a fine restaurant
cuz I'm not feeding you...
got it?
After packing away all the
Christmas stuff the
house is looking a little
bare...and cool.
What better way to warm it up than
with a
Chicken Pot Pie?
Thanks for the offer,
Marie Callender, but
I'll make my own.
I did cheat on the crust.
Maybe I shouldn't tell you that
but I don't want y'all thinking
I am
Superwoman.
So, we got this from
I cut up and cooked the chicken breast
and I sauteed the onions and celery
in good old Wisconsin butter.
And once all the ingredients
were put together I put it into
a pastry lined glass baking dish..
I put the top crust on
and used a cookie cutter to
form a perfect heart,
which also gave me
air vents.
I brushed the top with beaten egg..
And baked until
Golden Brown..
Oh Baby, Baby, Baby...
Ain't she purty?
Pair it with a little heart
Add a little romantic floral piece...
DRAT-
I forgot to light the candles!!!!
Anyway-
Let me just tell you...
MyHero is one happy man.
Happy men make good companions.
And, they are much more inclined
to give you little surprises.
Like a special valentine....

Ummmmmm..
Hmmmmmm....
Do you think I could just have
CASH instead?
Just sayin......

So cute and yummy too!
Just as I was salivating over that devine looking chicken pot pie, you show me the picture of that man/homosapien looking creature? and my appetite is GONE GONE GONE..lol. I loooooove chicken pot pie and have never done a homemade version which is a shocker since I love to cook. You bet I am taking down the recipe, the perfect comfort food for the cold months!
Have a great day....
hahahahahahahahahahaha, and I love pot pie, but have never made one because the man is not wild about them. Darn.
It's a beautiful thing! Uh... the pie, not the neanderthal.
Wow, that looks delicious...but I, too, would prefer the cash instead.......
EEWWWEEE...TOO MUCH HAIR !!! The pie looks great. Your valentine decorations are nice too. I would cheat on the crust also.xoxo, Susie(She Junks)
Oh that does look delicious, and no, I'm not talking about the man! lol
mmmmmmmm chicken pot pie looks so good! and so cute with a heart but ewwww at the hair ball haha.
Thank you for your kind words xxxx
Looks good! The pie, not the hairy Valentine. You can keep him.
Oh you do have a lucky hero! Your chicken pot pie looks wonderful and just scrumptious! That other "thing" rather have the cash too!
You always make me chuckle, love dropping in to see you!
yummo! what a pie, beautiful, I feel sorry for the hairy man but at least he would be warm if he lived up north where I am,
I'll pass on the fella but that ripe looks yummy!
Have a beautiful week ~

LOL! I was just think "if they say honey" right before I read it! Your pot pie looks delish!!!
Homemade chicken pot pie is the best. And yes, I certainly would go for the cash.
You know what, I'm going to be a copy cat!
I haven't fixed one in a long time and that looks pretty darn good! My Granny told me when I was a young woman, the best compliment to a good cook is to use the recipe they cooked for you Figure since we live so far from each other, and you would have had us all for dinner if you could have, this is kind of the same thing, you think? Me to! OK - It's now on my menu for next week!
Thanks for sharing, Diana! I needed a change!
Have a great Wednesday!
Blessings,
Donna
Your recipe looks delicious! I'm thinking the heart cut out would make it taste even better!
Blessings,
Janet
I am going to give that a go! Thanks for sharing always. Cheers SpecialK XoXo
Loves wonderful! Thanks for sharing! Joann
OK Diana,
Everything was good until you grossed me out with that hairy Valentine.Yuck!
The pot pie looks and sounds like the perfect cold weather day meal. And I'm with you all the way with buying the crust. DH isn't getting this today, I think this should be saved for that day when I making a special request. A good meal always goes a long way then-if you know what I mean.
OMG!! This looks fabulous and I wish I could just smell it! Okay...have a big bite! I have those pie crusts in my fridge, I was going to make a pie until someone ate all the apples. Don't be surprised if I make it, too. Love the little heart in the middle!
XO,
Jane
Cash is good.:-) We love Chicken Pot Pie around here! Thanks for posting your recipe!

Great idea for these chilly winter evenings. ...no comment on the Sasquatch... i mean that handsome man's photo on the Valentine you have there. yes money would be better though... or a photo of number 12, minus his uniform if you get my drift. lol

Diana, that pie does so look yummy! And it sounds simple and fast. I could give that a try! What a lucky guy.
Hugs,

I love pot pie! I rarely make them but maybe I should more often. Yours looks divine!
This looks so yummy! I love pot pie! What time should I be there? Thanks for sharing such a great recipe!
LOL! You are so funny! The hairy valentine kinda made me lose my appetite but I do like pot pie! :-) We make a lot of it at our house too (good way to get veggies in the kiddos) but I love the addition of the little heart and may have to do that one next time. I just made a ham pot pie a few weeks ago and it was super yummy too!
Vanessa
You absolutely crack me up! I was getting all hungry and excited about that chicken pot pie and the butter and the cute little heart and then I saw that hairy man photo and my appetitie went right out the window! I think in that case, cash is your best option. Yuck.
I'd take a quarter over that guy! Euww.
The pot pie, however, looks delicious!
My DH loves chicken pot pies, but I don't. So I think I will try this. Can I use chicken broth instead of the turkey broth?
