THANK YOU
to all of you that have
reached out to me and stayed connected!
I am going to try to keep everyone updated.
As you all know,
Hubby has been dealing with a lot of health issues.
He has settled into his efficiency unit
in assisted living.
He has all his favorite things there
(well, except for me and the pups).
I try to go every other day and take
the dogs and we hang out for a bit.
I also take him to all his doctor
appointments and other outings.
He has started a Bible Study
on Wednesday mornings and
that has been a nice little addition
to how he spends his time.
I had eye surgery last week.
I had a cataract but also have Fuch's Disease.
Always something, right?
Anyway, within an hour of the surgery
I had/now have perfect 20/20 mono-vision.
I have worn glasses/contacts since
I was in 4th grade.
I can buy my first pair of REAL sunglasses now!
A friend and I started a women's group
(WOW-Women of Webster) last year.
We have a monthly luncheon, card games,
a book club, etc.
We have put most things on hold
for the summer but I am already
looking forward to September.
My best boy, Scruffy, and little
Coco Chanel (CocoNUT on her crazy days)
never leave my side.
but will probably wait until Fall now
when I can convince $$$ my grandson
to help me.
After having inflammatory arthritis
(muscles/tendons not bones)
for several months
EVERYTHING has suffered.
The plants ARE lush and gorgeous though.
I did get most of my flowers in
around the front courtyard.
So, my friends, there you have it.
And, in case you are wondering,
I still have my wicked sense of humor.
Thank God for that,
otherwise I might run away from home.
Sometimes, I wish I drank!
I don't know WHAT is going on
with the spacing here. sigh-
NO complaining allowed-thank you~

...no one listens to my complaining. Diana, you and your husband certainly have more than your share of health concerns, I send you you best wishes.
Glad to hear things are going well. I'm having my cataracts done in September.
How nice not to have to wear glasses! Glad John is settling into his assisted living and getting connected. Our groups are important! My ladies group starts back mid August. I’m looking forward to it so I know what you mean about yours. All your plants look happy! And your pups are just too cute. Good company, aren’t they? Sooty this sounds so choppy, my kitty is distracting me with her antics. Lol
So glad to "hear" from you. Sounds like things are happier. Getting some updates from Facebook, especially regarding your grands.
Patricia
Sounds like things are working out in your new normal. Sending hugs.
You know I love you to pieces! (It's me, vivian) ❤️
Thank goodness you have your great sense of humor! Your "lightness" gives me hope. My hubs is two weeks out of the latest round of chemo and I am trying to expand my universe. Be well and stay effervescent!
Your garden is looking good. I know with this heat we are all getting it is a big chore to water to keep them going. I love all the pretty pieces you have in the garden too. I think I need to come shopping by you. How great John started a bible study. God is helping him out to find some joy and good in his days with how limited he is. Happy Friday Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs. Kris
Ir was very kind of you to let us know how things are going, I'll keep you and your hubby in my prayers, Your courtyard garden is beautiful, and very a serene, and calming spot. I wish you only good things until we here from you again!
Interesting that you have Fuchs Dystrophy and Cataracts. My hubby has the same thing! He has had one cataract removed, but waiting on the other as it isn't as bad. What do you do for the Fuch's Dystrophy? Do you use those "muro-drops"? Do they say you will need cornea surgery/replacement? These are things we are dealing with here and waiting for the next step. I am glad your hubby is doing better at the assisted living place. I know that has not been an easy decision for both of you, but I am glad that it seems to be working. Praying for you both. Your plants/flowers look lovely. I also have arthritis and it keeps me from doing a lot of things I want to do. I try to do them, and then I suffer afterwards. Plus, in this heat I can't do much anyway. Fall is my month to come back alive. Thank you for updating us. It's always wonderful to hear from you. Praying for you both. Your pups are so cute. I know they bring you joy, as well as exasperation! LOL.
Oh, it’s good to hear from you. Keep that sense of humor. Love you.
Fat anonymous is me… Missy
So appreciate your update which appears in poetic form. I like that. I am grateful and happy that your cataract surgery was successful and that you are well on the road to full health. See you around. ♥️
Not sure why I’m anonymous. It’s Loretta Larkey
I'm glad that your new normal is going well, Diana, and that your hero has settled into his efficiency. Your outdoor space is so pretty! The pups are adorable, Molly is known for similar crazy antics! Bet you are loving no more glasses or contacts! Enjoy the rest of your summer:)
"They can sleep through a thunderstorm
but hear a cheese wrapper from 1/4 mile away."
Made me smile. 😄
What a pleasant surprise to hear from you. It sounds like your husband is settled in and making the most of it and having the Wednesday Bible study will be good.
Congrats on your new 👀 eyes.
So good to hear from you! I have been thinking of you quite a bit. Your gardens are gorgeous. We got to be the caregiver of a neighbor's garden during this heat wave. I think that's all I have been doing--watering plants!
Always glad to read an update on you & hubby!! Cataract ( right eye) needs 12 month follow up on November- and expecting that will have surgery. Left eye just starting so have a ways to go. Dental surgery late yesterday afternoon, 5 extractions, & sitting about to stuff my mouth with mashed potatoes so l can take my 3 meds ( pain relief, inflammation relief, & antibiotic for existing gum infection. Wooo hooo. Oh, and they shoved upper & lower partials in but right lower lab made boo- boo and miss tooth that should be there, as corresponding natural tooth extracted & lab " miss counted" the replacement teeth. So gotta wait another 12 days for for replacement ( at no charge, their errors) & luckily empty spot further back and not noticeable. I am off till Tuesday at least. I go in Tuesday afternoon to finally have partials removed by dentist, cleaned, and my new routine explained, so no removing them till dentist does it Tuesday. Can't wait to start rinse 8 pm tonight, mouth is nasty post op 🤪 😜😝
Thanks so much for this cute update, Diana! Our girls are actually Malti-poos -- but aside from the chewing part (they finally outgrew), they could be twins to yours. (I may have laughed out loud about the cheese wrapper.)
Your WOW 'club' sounds delightful. While I love our own Bible study camaraderie, I'm going to put out some feelers to see if anyone wants to start something like yours. Thanks for the idea!
How great to read your post, Diana! That’s wonderful that you are adjusting to all the changes in your life! Your gardens look fabulous! Sounds like your Summer has been busy, yet enjoyable with those fuzzballs of yours. Love you, my friend. Debbie
It's always good to get an update from you Diana. It sounds like both you & John are finding ways to thrive, all things considered. Your pups are good therapy, and your garden looks lush. I'm waiting for fall to divide things too. Too hot otherwise! Take care.
Always enjoy your posts Diana, and glad you updated everyone.
Hello Diana, thanks for the update so glad hubby is getting the care he needs. I know how difficult it was on you. Visiting with the pups is wonderful. Happy you had your cataract surgery. I did one eye last year. Your flowers are beautiful. Sounds like visiting with lady friends is good therapy. It is always fun to gather and chat. Your two little fur babies are so adorable and also great therapy. Xo
Hi D! Thank you for the update. As difficult as it has been it truly is reassuringly good news. And that's GREAT about your good vision. What a game changer that is!!!! Your furry family members are so cute. And your certainly have not lost your quick wit. I laughed out loud several times. God bless. Hugs. ♥♥
I'm so glad that things are starting to sort themselves out for you, Diana. Your women's group should be fun. We have a friend who has a westiepoo--he's quite a character.
I'm glad to hear your husband is doing well. Sorry to hear about your eye surgery. That always scares me, but I'm glad it all went well. Loved the pics of your garden area in the front courtyard. And I love that little table, so cute. I always appreciate the Maxine quotes.....but I'm not a winey either.
Thanks for the update Diana. A happy August to you!

GOOD TO HEAR HOW YOU ARE FARING. IT IS A LIFESTYLE CHANGE AS WE AGE! I TURNED 73 YESTERDAY.
Thanks for the update, Diana. Glad that John is settling into assisted living well. The pups sound like they keep you active and provide lots of entertainment. Hugs to you.
I am so sorry about your husband. I know that for me at least at my age, change is so hard. But you never complain. I am happy to hear about your new group! Your yard is GORGEOUS!!
Good to hear from you and sounds like your hero is settling in nicely. But as you said it's always something! Garden area looks beautiful! I was just thinking about you a few days ago! Glad you have your sweet little pups, keeps you on your toes! Love Ya Roxy

Oh, Diana- gosh on getting old. Glad John is doing a bible study and gets to see you and the mutts every other day. Yeah on the eye surgery and vision!!! Hope you got the funkiest pair of sunglasses you could find. Love the WOW group idea. You thrive in the things like that. Grandsons can be bought. I understand on the yard and flower beds. Ours are something...DH is in control now. Thanks for the catch up.
Glad your cataract surgery went well, that John has a Bible study, and you have a ladies group! Aging is never fun; there’s always something! I got new glasses again and still can’t see worth a darn! Otherwise we take things day by day. Live your puppies!
I'm glad your husband is making the best of things. Good for him! I'm waiting for my cataracts to get bad enough so they have to be removed. The optometrist told me I won't need anything more than readers post-surgery. My sight is terrible. I've worn glasses for almost 60 years so I'll be thrilled when it's time for that surgery.
Love,
Janie
