A LITTLE EASTER STORY & THE STINKING EASTER BUNNY

Some of you know that I grew up
on a farm in Pennsylvania.
I grew up believing in
leprechauns and fairies...
Santa Claus
AND
The Easter Bunny.

When I was little my Father
told me that the Easter Bunny
left my basket under a
stump-and-post fence in the
back field.
Today I know that he was a
liar because EVERYONE
knows that the Easter bunny
sneaks into your house at night
and hides your basket.

When I was 5 my father told
me that he was going to meet the
Easter Bunny in the back field
after he spread the morning
load of manure-
YES- Manure!
Keep that in mind~

I wanted to go.
He said NO!
I was determined to see that bunny!
My dog, Lucky, wanted to
see him too.

I wanted to ride on the tractor with Dad.
He said NO!
I decided to follow along behind him
thinking he would take pity on me
and let me ride...I kept asking..
He kept saying NO!
Lucky walked doggedly
by my side.
(like how I worked in the word doggedly)?
It was about a quarter mile to the back field.
Every few feet my Father would
turn around and tell me to go home.
I would shake my head NO
and keep walking...so would Lucky.

We got to the place where he needed
to spread the manure.
GO HOME- I have to start the spreader!
GO HOME-
NO DEAL...
I wanted to see that stinking (;>) bunny!
GO HOME.
I kept walking.
He finally turned the spreader on.
I walked right along behind him..
step-by-step,
row-by-row.
Unfortunately, I do NOT have
a picture of THAT for your viewing
pleasure.

After he had spread the load of manure
he headed home.
I walked right along behind him,
manure covered and stinking
to high Heaven!

When we got home he told me
I was the stubbornest kid he
had ever met.
Hmmmpffffff!
I was NOT stubborn..
I was determined.
And as for Lucky?
Well, let's just say that was NOT
his lucky day.

Next year my
Easter basket was
right at the
breakfast table...
Imagine that!

Moral~
Stubborn means one does not give up
even when presented with
unpleasant consequences.

May you have a blessed Easter
as we celebrate the real meaning of
EASTER.

I hope to be back blogging soon.
There are lots of changes
going on in our lives here
and I will share that with
you soon.

Thanks for still
'being there'
for me during my long absence.

THE EASTER STORY THROUGH THE EYES OF 3 YEAR OLD SWEETCHEEKS

I posted this a few years ago at
Easter
but it just
so touching to me
to see what this
little 3 year old girl
UNDERSTOOD
about Easter.

And it almost makes
me cry listening to
her earnest explanation.
If you have a moment
it is worth the listen.

SweetCheeks
opted to ride
to brunch
with Nana and Papa.

We asked her what
she had learned
about Easter
at church
this morning...

 I do think she
might have mixed
a little bit of
Gulliver's Travels
into the the
Jesus story!;>)

She almost started
crying when she
thought Jesus might
have felt pain.
Here it is-
Listen up and see what
YOU think!

Make sure you turn your volume up~

Amen, SweetCheeks, Amen!

From me to you-
A Blessed Easter

GOOD-BYE ST PATRICK'S DAY-HELLO EASTER!

It has been a long hard winter here for us.

I am going to try to get back to

regular blogging.

Bear with me as health and

family issues are at play.

While I love

St. Patrick's Day and
all things Irish
it is time to drag
 the Easter stuff out
of the basement bins,
and then to move things
around in the china hutch,
and then to bring my
bunnies out of hiding...

Why?  Well, because
 we all know that
ONE THING LEADS
TO ANOTHER,
don't we?

Why-oh-why-
in the midst of all that is going on
do I do this to myself?
Anyway,
It is time to
bring out a couple of
bunnies to
dress up the center of the table.
Look at their cute little faces!
They look so cute there
I think they should be surrounded
by other lovely Spring pieces-
like beautiful napkins.....
And then, of course, I must
drag out my old dishes
that I haven't used for several years.
Garden Party by Pfaltzgraff.
You know I have had these for almost
30 years and I still love them.
I always used them in the
Spring and Summer months
but they have been packed away
for a few years now.
The ruby thumbprint glasses
belonged to Gramma Hazel.
Not wanting to be hidden away
 another little sugared bunny
jumps in to join the fun.
Sweet peeks of what is to come.
A little close up of the florals.
Now-Here is
QUESTION #1~

HOW LONG DO YOU THINK
it will take
SOMEONE to discover that
there are
M&M's in the flower base
that rests just below the bunnies?
QUESTION #2~
When do you think I will discover
that they have all been eaten
unbeknownst to me?

So-there you have it.
Just a touch of Easter here--
but we know here is a lot more to Easter
than bunnies, isn't there?

What are you doing for
Easter or do you bypass
Easter decorating and go right for
Springs Things?

Have a wonderful day~
I'll be around to visit as I can.

THE EASTER STORY TOLD BY A THREE YEAR OLD-IT MIGHT BRING A TEAR TO YOUR EYE~

 SweetCheeks was 3-1/2 years old

when she shared her beliefs
with Papa and me.
She is THIRTEEN now.

We were driving her to brunch
after church and asked her

YOUR VOLUME TURNED UP.

She almost started
crying when she
thought Jesus might
have felt pain.
Here it is-
Listen up and see what
YOU think!
If you click on the little square
on the bottom right hand side
it will go full screen.
(I'm sure most of you know that)

Amen, SweetCheeks, Amen!

From me to you-
A Blessed Easter
For those that don't have
time to listen....

For my wonderful, engaging blogging friends
that are not of the
Christian faith-
I love you all just as dearly
as I love everyone else.

EVERYONE MATTERS
and I hope you have a
Wonderful Sunday!!!

I'M BACK WITH AN UPDATE-WE MOVED AMID THE CORONA VIRUS SCARE

I'm still here--

It's scary times, isn't it?
A co-worker of MyHero is in ICU with the virus.
My son-in-law is a captain in the
LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT.
He and my daughter are under quarantine
because one of his men's wife
has the virus.
That means my grandgirls are not
able to be with their mom for at least
TWO WEEKS.
Hmmm...three teenagers out of the house
for two weeks...
IMAGINE THAT!!!!!

Anyway----
We have moved into our "new" condo.
I am still in the process of making
this 'place' into a home.

I ended up calling the movers
to move us 2 weeks earlier than planned
because I was afraid the movers would
SHUT DOWN DUE TO CV-19.
Good thing I called because they
SHUT DOWN
the week we were supposed to move.

I did not get a chance to purge and sort
like I had hoped and
EVERYDAY IS LIKE CHRISTMAS
as I open a box or bin to discover
what is inside.

So, today- I have
NO PICTURES
of the new place to show you
except one of the back patio area yesterday-
The wind was blowing so the flag is blurry
but---can you see the hail & snow?
As they moved us in
anything that I didn't know exactly
where it was going-
went in the garage.
Today I am smiling because
my garage has gone from 100% FULL
to about 50% full
and that, my friends, is a
GOOD THING.

Now, I don't know about all of you
BUT
I have been cooking and baking.
NOT A GOOD THING-
By the time this is over,
I am going to have to call one of those
INTERVENTION PROGRAMS..
True!
For instance...
Homemade lasagna--
sauce that simmered for hours
and baked up like this.
OH MY---about 1800 calories per bite!
So, if I can roll myself away
from the table long enough-
I will be back this coming week with a
PICK YOUR FAVORITE-
just a bit of frivolity
that I hope brings a bit of
joy to all of us.

MEANWHILE-
Have a Happy Blessed Safe Easter-
even if you
DON'T HAVE SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY
that dresses their kid up like a
CHICKEN FOR EASTER.

STAY HOME & STAY SAFE.
Asking God to bless you and your families-
We don't need any sick bloggers!
