HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY HERO

There are lots of birthdays
and lots of days to celebrate
in July for our family.
However----
Today is
My Hero's Birthday!
Yep!
I let him live another year!

TODAY he hits the
BIG 70!!!
Dat be soooo old

This was taken a few years ago
before cancer exacted its toll.
Today he is dealing with some health issues
and we are seeking answers for them.
So far, they have ruled out
just about everything.
He has two more specialists to see
and we are hoping they will have some
answers for us.

That is the reason I have been
scarce in Blogland.
Just know that
I do miss all of you!!!!

ANYWAY-------

Happy Birthday, My Hero-
I love you
like 99% of the time-
the rest of the time?
Well, we just won't talk about that
now, will we?

Wait till he sees the
SURPRISE I have in
store him!
-yeah-baby-

It's COOL-
That's a hint....
It may or may not be this....

We are in a place this weekend
where we have very
LIMITED PHONE SERVICE
and
NO INTERNET
so bear with me
as I try to answer any comments
or make visits.

Have a wonderful weekend
AND
Stay Safe!

MY HERO SLEEPS WITH HIS LITTLE BUDDY-IT'S A PLATONIC RELATIONSHIP

Any nappers in your family?

I have one that seems to
take a
LOT OF NAPS..
especially when there is
LOTS OF STUFF on the
TO-BE-DONE LIST!

Today,
unbeknownst to MyHero,
his little friend is joining him.
LOOK HOW CUTE!
They BOTH have matching
sleep masks!

He shifts around a bit
to get comfortable....
However, our little elf
is not much of a napper.
He likes MISCHIEF!
As you can see, he has pushed
HIS MASK UP
so he can see what is going on.
Hey! Buddy!  Time to
WAKE UP!!!
Whaddaya doing under there?
Sigh---looks like MyHero
is still sleeping soundly.
Yes- I know he has had
cancer this last year.
Maybe I should give him a pass?
NAH....That's not me!
I would have to pretend to be
THAT NICE.

Buddy gives a
BIG SIGH.
NOW WHAT?

Thank you, Buddy!
You have done your job
for the day.
You have been part of a grand
"pay-back".
Revenge is
SO SWEET!
and--
MyHero touched you
(or rather YOU touched HIM-
and that counts)
so he gets
COAL in his STOCKING.
image
Now--just a reminder to my readers-
YOU BE GOOD-
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve.

Have a wonderful day

ps.  I added some further instructions to my
NEVER FAIL CARAMELS
HERE-

Umm...apparently....a couple of people had
FAILS---and my BFF, Sandy,
my "sister-in-life"
was first in line to tell me.
Thanks, Sandy....Lordy, I love you!
Don't break your last tooth on
those REFRIGERATOR HARDENED caramels.

Lulu's Homecoming & John's Upcoming Procedure Today

I can hardly believe that our sweet
LULU
is 14 years old.

She is in a brand new school this year
and there are no classmates from her
old school that attend there.

is a Christian based school.
Although we are not Lutheran,
our two daughters graduated from there.
It was a wonderful school and so accepting
of kids from all different backgrounds.
It was such a great school that my daughter
wanted her daughter, Lulu,
to have the same wonderful experience
she had there.

Lulu is just a bit shy so we were beyond thrilled
when she was voted on to
HOMECOMING COURT!
Here she is with Mr.Z,
right after they found out they were
the freshmen voted on to court.
I don't know which one is cuter!

Here she is all gussied up
and standing with her Papa.
He felt well enough to spend the
early evening watching the presentation.
She and her best friend, Miss A,
posed sweetly for us.
Ouch!!!Wonder if those poles running through
their heads bothered them?

Love the guy in the background
smiling away!
A bit later they had pictures taken by a
professional photographer.
I got a picture or two in while
they were posing...
It just made me smile to see Lulu & Mr. Z
standing together.
I think this is  her first boy/girl picture.
(well-the 2nd if you count the one on the field)
Parents/grandparents had to leave before
the dance (unless you were a chaperon)
but we snuck one picture in before we
slunk out.
Anyone go to Catholic School Dances?
DO NOT MOVE YOUR HANDS
ONCE YOU HAVE PLACED
THEM ON HER WAIST.

It was a wonderful night
but the next day it was back to
BUSINESS AS USUAL.

Lulu is a GREAT volleyball player!
She is the setter and a good server.
That wonderful picture was taken by
Naomi.
Naomi used to be the girls' nanny
when mom and dad were both working.
Umm....Hello....
That "kid" you used to take care of
is bigger than you are now.
Piling your hair up does NOT make you taller!
So--there you have it.
A FUN time for everyone.
Well ALMOST EVERYONE!
SOMEBODY just wanted to go home
and watch MICKEY MOUSE!
She's gonna kill me
Cheer up, Princess!
Your day will come-
Once again you will be
QUEEN OF THE WORLD!!
You will always be
Queen of the World in MY eyes!

MyHero goes in for his 7 month
after-treatment exam today.
They will scope his throat.
I offered to save him the money
and do the scope at home.
He didn't seem too responsive
to the idea.
He is SUCH a Spoil Sport!

THE WELCOME WAGON

Last year about this time
my son gave me this
GREAT OLD WAGON.
I think he said he bid it in at an auction...
and-because he loves his mama--
and because mama loved the wagon
he gave it to me.

So, last year, I had a
BAD FALL...
and I ain't talking I fell on the ground...
Nope-
I was sick...some minor surgery
and then I got pneumonia.
I was NOT CUTE--
No pictures-thanks for asking.
I didn't DO FALL last year.
Nope.

Anyway.-
THIS YEAR
I rolled that little sucker
right out of the garage and up on the front porch.
I filled it with whatever I could lay my hands on..
real and faux.
There's an old copper serving tray
keeping company with the pumpkins and leaves.

Here you can see my
LITTLE POUTER.
Doesn't the coat make you smile?
I have had it at least 15 or 16 years
and I still get a kick out of it.
It used to scare the BeJebeebers out of Lulu
when she was little.
It freaked her out.
Two years ago I had it up against the
side light window of the door-
but every time I glanced that way
I thought someone
was peeking in at me.
Scared the Bejeebers out of ME
AND
freaked ME out!

So the pumpkins in the wagon are real
and the rats are real.
Okay- I might have lied about the rats.

Hanging next to this little gathering
on my front door
is my bittersweet wreath that I
have carried around for about 20 years.
I still love the old thing.
So- bit by bit I am getting done.
I have had sick kids here for
days on end.
However, two of them were feeling better
and went to school today.
When they came here they wanted to help decorate.
I told them
"HAVE AT IT".

Oh- Look!
How cute is that?!?!
If I've told him ONCE
I've told him a
THOUSAND TIME.
Do not fall asleep when you are supposed to be
watching the kids!

He never listens!
Oh-he is gonna LOVE this one!

Have a great Thursday!

6:00 AM.

But. I did want to show you
my little
SCAREWOMAN!

I put this together using
2 Dollar Store mops and
an old mop that I don't use anymore.

I used a wig form for the head
and purchased her lovely
OUTFIT
from Goodwill.

Without further ado-
Here she is--
BUXOM BERTHA!
Look at that
SASSY GIRL-
Pulling her skirt up in the air!

MyHero says-
Oh!  She looks like YOU!
Whereupon, he hustled right over to
hustle her have his picture taken with her.

I don't like it that I can't see his hands....
just sayin'....
Tonight I have three little girls here
and the
SweetCheeks will pick a name for
Somerset Magazine.

You STILL have time to sign up today!
Hurry, Hurry, Hurry!

FINISH IT UP-FIVE ON FRIDAY

You know I've been gone awhile
and while I am usually a picture-taking fool
I didn't take many pictures this summer.

However, lucky for you,
(that part was a joke)
I have lots of photos to
show you that I have
hoarded over the past few months.

First and foremost!
I LOVE FALL.
I love decorating for Fall
almost as much as I like decorating for Christmas.
Here is something you MIGHT see at my house.
For some reason I always set this up in the same little cubby hole.
I painted the little slate about 30 years ago.
Geez- Am I getting old, or what!
The little turkeys are paper mache  and held candy.
They are almost as old as I am ...
that is OLD, folks!
What is NOT old around here?
This NEVER gets old!
Three cousins on a swing....
Now WHY is the
MONKEY IN THE MIDDLE
the only one looking at the camera?
Love that SweetCheeks
still wears bows in her hair!

I might have spent a little tine in another state.
A special present for you
if you can figure out what city
we are in.
okay- I mighta lied about the present
That, folks-is blurry because it is
what I like to call an
ACTION SHOT.
It has nothing to do with the camera's user.
(I mighta lied about that, too)

After INDY I came home to Mr.Excitement!
Yeah- sometimes he's a little shy.
Did you notice that he has a GIANT left hand?
One day, I am going to get paid back
for all of this you know....
but not today!

Why?  Because TODAY he wants me to
COOK FOR HIM!
Yesterday we started a WHOLE 30 food program.
It means lots of cooking.
I didn't think this was going to be easy--
nothing worthwhile ever is, is it?

This is how I feel about the whole thing!

AMEN!!!!!
Hope you all have a great Friday.
Bear with me as I get around to
visiting your blogs and playing catch up.

Finish It Up Friday-FUN WITH THE FAMILY

THE BABYSITTER

Lulu is just getting old enough to babysit.
So, while she was here last weekend,
we had CJK come over so she
could practice.

Here is how it went!
Lulu is trying to read her book for school
and keep an eye on CJK.
He is VERY INTERESTED in her book.
He is SO interested that he says he can read it--
and starts with
Once 'pon a time....
She is not getting much reading done because
Bucko drops her book on the floor
and gives her a
GREAT BIG HUG!
That hug did not seem to get enough of a response-
Let's try
ONE MORE REALLY BIG HUG-
along with the
CHIN GRIND!
Ah- yes--perfect response...
Now- Let's just move along
to balancing on the
Hairy Headed Sisters!
This is what they call an
ACTION SHOT
in the movies.
Free of charge for you, of course-
And now that you have had fun with
everyone else it is time to have
FUN WITH POPS!
Yeah-That's they way we all feel, kid!
Sorry----

HOW TO BLOCK A FOLLOWER From Your Blog Or In Other Words SMILE & Say GET LOST

I know most of you probably
already know how to do this.
But...there are a few of you
(like me) that fall far below the level of
COMPUTER GENIUS!

I have  followers that I
DO NOT WANT
to be able to read my blog-
or comment on my posts.
Yeah- mean old me.
Many of them have names that I cannot read
and when translated they basically
ask me to support and/or visit their website.
Some are porn and some support
foreign missions asking for guns and money.
They need lives but they are not
going to find a life on my blog.
Nosireeebob!

Sorry!
Bye-Bye!
You need to get to your dashboard.
I am embarrassed to tell you that it took me a while
just to figure out how to do that.

Open your blog.
Go up to the upper right hand corner of your blog.
Click on DESIGN.
On the next screen you will see
MY BLOGS on the upper left hand side.
Click on MY BLOGS.
You will see your blog and the word followers.
Click on followers.
Start scrolling through them.
When you get to the end of the first page
click on MORE then click on NEXT.
When you see someone you want to remove
simply click on their icon.
Click on BLOCK them.
That's it.
You can UN-block them the same way
any time you choose.

To resume looking for others click the arrow in the upper left hand corner
and click on followers again.
Follow the same procedure until you have removed
everyone you want to remove.

I also blocked two bloggers
 that have been coming in
and leaving nasty comments
 about other people's comments.
I don't have time for that and I don't like controversy or drama.
So-byebye to them, too.

So, now they will have to stir it up somewhere else.

I "lost" about a dozen followers
(make that 14 followers)
doing this.
They are still there but they are in a
 BLOCKED FILE
and they can't get through unless I unblock them.
HA!  Ain't gonna happen, baby!

So---there you have it!
Block till your little heart's content.
But don't block ME!!!!  lol

When that person comes to visit you next time
after you have blocked them
this is basically what they will see
only it will have your blog name on it.
So---there you have it.
If this blonde can do it-
You can, too.,

Laying low and trying to dump this cough
before Christmas!
After all, I want to be able to wear my
SASSY ELF COSTUME
on Christmas Day, right?
MyHero will be dressed in his regular
outfit. He is going as
The Caped Crusader:
At least he and his buddy are dumping
their masks for the day.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
