WELCOME TO THE little CRAFT/SEWING ROOM

Okay-
The truth is that I am not quite done
with the craft/sewing room
but I AM far enough along to
give you a good peek.

I am going to break this up into
a couple of posts because
I have grandkids here for the weekend
and you can imagine how time
flies and there's not much time to blog.

This door is INSIDE our garage.
It is the old front door that was
on this house when we bought it.
Too pretty to not re-use somewhere.
There is a car IN THE GARAGE
to the immediate right.
The "blue" you see to the left
and is full of patterns, etc.
I will show you that another time.
Come-on in!
When you open the door this is
what you see.
That is my sewing table to the right.
It belonged to hubby's grandmother
and is a true Art-Deco piece.
There was a desk that matched
that we gave to a friend (darn it).
It is the perfect height and size
for this room
You can see the use and age on
the polished black top.
The top is some kind of "resin".

Immediately inside the door
is a sink.
I picked this old tin & porcelain sink up curbside
when we lived in another town.
It was rusty and back then I
painted it green when I was using
it for "potting".
Here it is all spray painted and cleaned up.
I spray painted inside and outside.
The bottoms of the shelves
were in pretty bad shape.
So- I covered them with
self-adhesive tiles.
I do this under all the sinks in my house, too.
I just buy a cheap shiny self-stick tile
and cut to size.
It makes it so easy to keep clean.

My next post I will show you the rest
of the room.
I should have it completely finished by then.
At least now the basics are all in place.

Okay-Here is your laugh for the day-
At MY expense, of course.

Before I started painting the sink
I checked my paint supply.
I had 2-1/2 cans of Rustoleum Gloss White Enamel.
Good to go.
I figured I would need 2+ cans.
I start with the 1/2 full can and
I spray the whole inside
of all the sink cabinets
before I run out of paint.

I open Can #2-
THIS is what the paint does.
Cleaning the nozzle does NOT help.
image
Not to worry.
I have a THIRD can and by now
I am pretty sure one more can will do
the whole job.
Whooo Hoooo!

Um...Hello!
Let me just say-there is something
DOWN INSIDE the
spray hole and it will
NOT TAKE another nozzle.

Okay- I want to finish this so
I realize that
I HAVE to run to Home Depot
at this point.
I am in an old nightgown to paint.
Yes- It's true.
No pictures of THAT!

I HAVE TO change clothes to go to
Home Depot.

I throw on some clothes-
hop in the car and run to
Home Depot.
NO ONE in Home Depot
will look me in the face.
I think---
That's ODD!

However, I get TWO NEW CANS
of white spray paint.
I get in the car and look at myself
in the mirror.

My NOSE is full of
WHITE SPRAY PAINT.
It looks like BOOGERS!

I can't do it-
I just can't do it!
I CAN'T show you a picture
of a nose full of
WHITE SPRAY PAINT.

Next time I will wear THIS!
image
NOT to Home Depot, Silly...
Just to paint!
I will wear something like THIS
to Home Depot next time.
image
HA!  We'll see who has the
LAST LAUGH
after all!

I have kids here for the weekend
so I most likely won't be around
until Monday.
Have a GREAT weekend!

Still Working On My Projects

Just as I promised-
I am back this morning.
Guess what?
I am about 80% done
with projects.
Whew!

I have been using up paint.
This used to be BRIGHT BLUE.
and was a roadside find years ago.
It was dirty-dirty-dirty
and was used in the garage for
storage for at least a decade.
A little elbow grease and a little paint
and it is clean enough to use again.

I had some Seafoam paint left over
and that is what is on the outside.
The inside is another can of
GREEN that I had.
It is still wet there as you can see..

I am moving my basement area
Crap Craft/Sewing area to a little room
that MyHero had built into
one corner of the garage
when we moved in.

It was supposed to be to start plants
in sun-filled windows
and to pot things up.
Umm...Hello-
It faces North and gets NO sun.
Bad idea-bad, bad, bad!

Well, I am taking that baby over.
Yes.I.Am.

I found some material I had stashed that
I had about 5 houses ago.
Look how good it matches the picture
my grandgirls gave me years ago.
Now, I might have hit a little
snag this weekend.
A little
TIME CONSUMER.

However,
I know how to FIX him.
Just one misstep and this is what happens here!
Still misbehaving, huh?

Well, buddy, I warned you.
Down you go-
IN THE HOLE
as they say in
THE BIG HOUSE.
No use to look through and try
to "cute" your way out.
Nope- Not gonna work here!
Just milk and cookies for you and
THAT'S FINAL.

Ha!
Bet Mom & Dad won't let him come back!

So, I am almost ready to reveal one of
my projects.
I just need a day or two more.
I won't get anything done today
because I am headed to Milwaukee
this morning to see my
little BigBoyE
(is that an oxymoron-or am I the moron-
don't answer that)
Anyway, he is off to kindergarten.
2 hour drive down-and then back
and an appointment in town at 1
and a meeting tonight that goes until
about 10.
I might not get around to visit-
ya know what I mean?

Hope you all have a great week.

Painting A French Phone-Yes I Did

The joke in our family is that if you
stand still long enough you will probably
get spray painted.
As you know-in the past I painted a
TV set here.

TVs? Telephones?
No problem!
Both begin with a T, right?
IF I can paint a TV I can most certainly
paint a TELEPHONE.
See?

Want to see more, do you?

My friend, Ruthie, was donating the phone..
I said...Whoa Baby-
This will be perfect for Lulu's
Paris Themed Bedroom.
You cam see more of that here

It had been stored for a long while
and had yellowed considerably and
was a bit the worse for wear.
Not so pretty there, huh?
I took apart the section that held the numbers
and decided to leave the gold plate that
surrounded the letters.
The gold ring just popped off.
I covered the number with stickers to keep the paint off them.
It was a nice day so I set up outside
because I never spray paint in the garage
I am SUCH a liar
It took 2 light coats of Cream Satin paint.
Look how cute it turned out!
I think Lulu is going to LOVE it, don't you?
If I can part with it!
If she doesn't see this post it's MINE!
oh-yeah- it works...
too bad her parents won't let her have a
 PHONE IN HER ROOM!
It'll look cute just sitting there anyway,
won't it?

What's Up With My Polka Dot Bike?

No time-
No time this morning-
No time to write a long post.
So - here is a quick peek
at what I have been up to.
Remember this?
You can read about how
I painted it with polka dots HERE
I have NO idea why all my
old posts went to
SMALL PRINT...UGH!!!
Anyway-this is what she looked like
yesterday.
Guess what this
has to do
with my
Polka Dot Bike?

Well, I hate to tease you
but you will have to come back
tomorrow to see what I did.

What's going on here this morning?
Ummmmm....
Two little THUMB THUCKERS are VITHSTHING!
