My Weekend Getaway Flip Flop

Well,
I'm still home!
~Home Sweet Home~
Looking out the window
at the snow covered playhouse.
Even though I was supposed
to be in the UP.
Upper Peninsula for all you
Non-Midwesterners.

So...What Happened?
Hmmmm..
SOMEONE
who shall remain nameless to
protect his red-faced hide
FORGOT
he had to work.

WHAT?

Yeah..Yeah.
I switched with somebody.
And you forgot until I am up
at 5:30 am and packing to go?
Yeah..Sorry.
BIG SIGH
Yeah..ME TOO!
Call and cancel the hotel.
We always stay here....
Drink the Starbucks coffee
from the thermos.
Yes-Yes-I have a
PINK STARBUCKS THERMOS
Settle in on the sofa with
the computer,
my magazines,
my Bible
Shhhhhhh I am behind on my
read the Bible in a year
commitment to myself.

Hmmmmm...wait...
Do you have to work on
SUNDAY?
Nope!

How about we drive down to
Milwaukee...early church with the
kids and  buy them brunch?
Works for me...
Good! It works for me, too.
I get to see
BigBoyE and CharlesInCharge.
Not such a bad weekend
after all.
But let's not let
YOU KNOW WHO
that it's not so bad...
m'kay?
I want to milk this for all
it's worth.
AMEN!

Isn't it fun to have something to hold over their head for a few days!

Tete said...

Well, let him wiggle a few days at least. Happy you are having breakfast with the boys. Rocking babies is better than UP any day.
Hope you got caught up laying around.

Maybe you can have a nice get away another time. Until then - enjoy those grand babies! And give them each an extra hug for me, too!

I want to say "Oh no!" but I have to laugh, too, Diana! I would probably be milking it, too.

LOL! You're milking it! I would too. Glad your weekend turned out ok in the end. Maybe you can hop back across the border soon.

You playhouse looks like one of those tiny houses that people are buying and living in.

Brunch with the kids does have to help with the change of plans!

I'd milk it too. Glad the weekend was not a total loss. It was not meant to be.

lol...I've tried to read the Bible through for years now. What finally worked for me was reading the Psalms every morning. Whatever the date - I start with that Psalm. Today is the 22 so I read Psalm 22 - then I add 30 to it and read Psalm 52 and so on until I've read 5 Psalms. I also read what the day's date is in Proverbs. HS usually gives me a thought that sends me on a spiritual rabbit trail of sorts. Hay, it works for me. Have a peace-filled Sunday.

Yes, milk it for all it's worth, I say! Looks like you got our snow. How are the boys doing? Bet Charles' cheeks are growing by the minute! What little cuties! Maybe next weekend you can head to the UP:)

Milk it for what it's worth, but I'm glad you were able to turn the whole thing around anyway.

Sorry about your trip cancellation! I used to go to the UP fairly often when I lived in my home state of Michigan.

It's cold up there now, I bet!
