MY GrandKids NEVER Fight

Show me the picture of a grandparent
who tells you how wonderful
and sweet and
adorable
their grandkids are.
Show me the picture of that same
grandparent that tells you
their grandkids
NEVER fight.
Show me that picture
and I will point
at it and
say..
That person is a liar.
Sorry to disappoint you..
especially if THAT person
is your Mom or your Granny..
but THAT person
is a big fat
(or skinny-take your pick)
liar.

I will show you how I
know this..
Below are two
oh-so-sweet
little girls.
Lulu and Ria.
They are having their
pictures taken by Nana.
Lulu, don't make faces,
Ria admonishes.
I'm not, Ria!
Yes-you are!
That is not your
REAL smile..
Okay- I will give you my
REAL SMILE, Ria.!
Did she Nana?
Nope! But at least she
didn't give me
THIS FACE
this time.Ria decides to take
matters into her own hands..
Literally...

Lulu is not smiling anymore..

And neither is Ria..

because now it is

time to pay the piper.

(old adage..you're either old enough

to remember it or not-it goes..

if you're going to dance you have

to pay the piper)

Today it translates to:

You scratch-You gonna suffer.

Ria! How did those scratches

get on Lulu's neck?

I dunno...accompanied by much

crying and wringing of hands..

Really? Well, then WHO did do it?
Just tell the truth..
did you scratch your sister?
OKAY...but she deserved it.
Time Out-
3rd step from the bottom.. And,
just to add fuel to the fire,
SweetCheeks who is watching
Tinkerbell for the 852nd time
has only one comment....
Nana, You know what Lulu did?
No-what?
Nuthing but hers is
SO annoying!
Thank you for your
input, SweetCheeks!
Yoarh wehlcume, Nana.
and we are back to watching
Tinkerbell
without ever taking our eyes
off the screen.
Lord, one more hour til bedtime..
I can do this..
One. More.Hour.
I guess I should add that this
DOES NOT
happen very often..
hardly ever in fact..
they usually get along
quite well actually.
So, that being said,
I guess the lesson here is..
Don't Be Annoying
your photo name

Good Morning Sweetie...
Oh my you gotta love these girls. Been there, done that one.

Yep time out on the stairs, the worst punishment of all. The face says it all.

Love that precious Sweet Cheeks, she always gets in the last word does she not? A dollbaby, but I have a feeling her day too, will come.

Hope you are staying warm. The temps are coming back up here in the valley. Thank goodness as I can't stand any more cold mornings. I have bronchitis again, and it backed up in my ears. They hurt like the devil today. My antibiotics are starting to kick in though so it is only a matter of time, until I am feeling better.

Many hugs to you sweetie. Have a glorious day and hopefully there will be no chicken scrapping in the barn yard today. Love, Sherry

LOL- I have never had to deal with cat fights or grandkids. I have boys and boys punch and trip and cheap shot. I have had to wade in between the two more than not. I thought it would be over when they grew up. NOT! Now, I make them take it outside. Not in my house is my favorite phrase.
Time outs were nose on doors! One on the front door and one on the fridge door- far enough apart and I gave them a number to count to. When Doug hit junior high- I made them hug and kiss each other and tell the other one he loved him. That worked for quite a long time. They hated it!
You might want to have a nail cutting party. Or make them wear mittens in the house.
One of these days Ria and Lulu are going to gang up on SweetCheeks! That's going to be a double starbucks day, for sure!
Hang in there granny, you are bigger! You can do it!
LOL- Hugs- Tete

Wow, I don't think I ever drew blood on my brother before. Lots and lots of bruises, but not actual blood. I guess we were tame.

BTW, congratulations on the Packers WIN!

That is so real and kind of funny! Reminds me of my girls growing up, they had death matches! Oh, but not my grands..they are perfect angels! LOL ;D

EEEK....Been there sooo many times. We didn't have stairs...just corners.

When I was four my big sissy burned me on the back with a cigarette lighter in the car (she was 6 and didn't know what it was because it was never used). Anyway...we'd been fighting and boy did she get her comeuppance in a big way. I laugh about it now.

Now...shhh...about this...

My little Miss K is 8 (as of November) and I just found out for 100% sure she's going to be a big sister. I'm over the moon happy. Just don't want to spread it too much around until she's past her first Tri.

Love to you sweet lady. You always bless me.

Hey..... my grand kids don't fight. But then, I only have two and one is only two weeks old, so they haven't had a chance yet. *LOL*

But, thanks for showing me what I have to look forward to.

Oh...I think I need therapy...this brings back memories of Heather sitting on me and holding me down after I told her I had to go to the bathroom. LOL! Its all part of that sister love and there truly is no other relationship quite like it. Wouldn't even trade peeing my pants, that's how much I love her! :-)

Oh Diane,
I so love your honesty. These are my favourite posts of yours. They just make me laugh, and my daughter and husband enjoy me reading them out loud. The photo of Ria on time out is just too cute. I'm known for encourging a bit of naughtiness. It's a habit I'm trying to break, but some children are just so cute at it.

Cheers,
Lisa x

I like Laura's comment... they are way too sweet!

I was thinking of you during the Super Bowl! Wanted to comment on that post to send congratulations. Bet you're all gonna be happy for a long time :)

lol - They're so adorable and I love your stories! I miss my little girls (18 and 22 now). Even the occasional fight. ;)

Have a great rest of the week, Diana!

My kids fought tooth and nail 24 hours a day, from the time they were 4 and 5 until.. well, they're 30 and 31 now, and I'm not all that sure they're STILL not fighting, but at least they don't do it in front of me and that's all I care about these days! My grandson? He's and only child and it's pure heaven. I'm just crossing my fingers in hopes he doesn't come up with an imaginary friend for want of someone to argue with!
