Saturday On Sunday

Saturday on Sunday?
Confused, are you?
Well, these pictures
were taken Saturday
but posted today..
Get it?

We traveled many miles.
From Munising to Marquette,
from Marquette back to
Munising and onward
to Grand Marias.

We love Marquette's old
historical section.
This house overlooks
Lake Superior.
This one sits overlooking
Marquette Harbor.
As does this one...
MyHero loves these
old quarried stone buildings.
My favorite part of
Marquette?
Scaling THIS hill.
Can you see why?
However, don't you worry about me
falling down that hill on my butt.
As you can see,
they DO have a drive through.
Thank you, Lord.

From there we headed to
Grand Marias, MI.
Oh.So.Pretty.
And, as we stopped for
a quick break
I spotted a natural
CROSS
that made me smile.
Do you see it?
Cool, huh?

Almost as cool as this..
Ever seen a building built
like a Pickle Barrel before?
Nah-Not me!
And how many of these
little old diners are left?
Not many~
And what you may ask
was the best sight of the day.
Well, it was one that made
me smile.
Back at the ranch hotel,
I spotted
SOMEONE
in his bedtime attire
with one slight addition.
Can you spot it?
I'll bet none of
YOUR HEROES
wears a
Captain's Hat to bed.
Wait till you see his
bathtub boat!;>)

Looks like you are having a wonderful time and I see sun! Not here....My "Hero" took off for a week in Asia...24 hours on a plane going both directions....so I suppose that means I should try to get something done around here! Have a wonderful week!

What would I do without my chuckle-a-day from Diana! I want to live in a Pickle Barrel and I want a Captain's hat and I want to scale a rocky hill for a Starbucks :)

I just had a Captain and Tennille flashback! Glad you're having a good time. If you'd get the camper fixed you wouldn't have to stay in hotels, you know.

This looks like a wonderful place to visit. I older homes like that. We do not have many that look like those in SC. The barrel home is really something isn't it? Thanks so much for sharing and I hope you continue to have a wonderful time!

Well, that explains you both being a little dingy...LOL- I had to say that, you know.
Your photos are great. Love the old houses and the diner. So many different areas you have up there.
Our choices here are corn or beans...boring. We do have woodland and rivers where the land is not flat, but nothing like what you posted. Beautiful there.
I hope it warmed up a little bit for you. Still chilly here and overcast. DH said it could rain. WAH!

OMG! Was he really wearing that hat in BED?? Would you believe he is wearing the same type hat that Pat always loved to wear. I have it tucked in a cedar chest with other things I saved.
That man looks content!! I'd love to see that bathtub boat! :)

What beautiful houses, and that diner, perfect! It looks like a very nice place.
Did your hero forget to bring his nightcap? ;)

Beautiful homes, that is one thing I love about traveling!

Hi Diana! You seem to be having a lovely vacation! Isn't it wonderful to find a cross in such a remote area?!! The Lord's way to remind us that He is always with us.

I love the first photo of that Victorian house. I have never before seen so many windows in a tower, though. This is a first for me.

As for that diner, it brought to mind the greasy spoons of years past. Where you could get fish and chips, chicken in a basket, club sandwiches, and hot chickens. I wonder if they sell those there. I very seldom eat in restaurants now. It's so very expensive. It has to really be an occasion.

Diana
I lived in GM and raised my kids there for 13 years! You made me homesick. My daughter works at the diner in the summer time. So if you're back ask for Emily! Did you
know that Ellen(the owner) is an author too? Anyway, I get carried away when I get started on GM, don't I?
Enjoy your weekend!!

Fun pictures...these homes are beyond gorgeous and if they are on the water, that's fine by me!

I'm glad you found your Starbucks. I like to carry a thermos with me with my Dunkin Donuts!

Oh Diana,

I love you so much! You always make me smile, my friend!

Love the field trip and the old houses are lovely! Bet those have cold chilly mornings (afternoons, evenings, nights and ...) parked right on the lake. Or am I thinking of a different lake? You know us California Girls, spoiled with warmer weather than most!

Your hubby looks great in his Captain's hat - not sure I want to see his bathtub toys!

Blessings, sweet friend!

Seeing your pictures makes me really want to go to the U.P. again. I really don't even have a great excuse. Where I live in WI isn't all that far away! It has been a few years since I was there. I also want to go to Washington Island off door county this summer. Thanks for the memories.

Oh I love those old houses, makes me miss my grandparent's old home, though it wasn't nearly as grand.
Ha Ha, guess he wasn't wanting to outshine the lights.
