Monkeys Rule-Almost-

This is a life lesson..
It's about SweetCheeks
stepping up the
Big Girl Ladder.

She has always been
"the little one"
in the family until
her two little cousins
came along.
She has not been jealous
but she has
NOT WANTED
to give up her
"own little bed"
with the sweet
little floral
comforter and pillow shams..
You know those beds.
The ones that kids move
into after they leave the
crib.
She slept in the crib
here whenever she
stayed overnight
until she was 3-1/2.
Then we fixed up a
little bed for her
in with her big sisters.
She has had a hard
time letting go of it,
even though she stretches
the full length of the
crib sized mattress.

Someone else
is in the wings waiting for
that little bed.
Can you guess who that
might be?
Yep-BigBoyE!
He and his Mom & Dad
and CharlesInCharge
will be coming here
tomorrow night.

How to make the
switch over?

Hmmmm..let's see....
Let HER make the
choices?
We went shopping.
BigBoyE
LOVES MONKEYS.
Yes. He. Does.
SweetCheeks made
some great bedding choices
for the little man.
Monkey sheets~
Monkey blanket-
Here she is putting
the finishing touches
on "his" bed.
How cute is that all together?
AND,
as we were leaving the
store she spotted this.
A big ol' E and noted...
Hey...That would be
perfhect for Effan.
And so it is.
It hangs just above the
little bed he can
now call his own.
No more flowers
on the
"little beddy"
anymore.

One more step
on the ladder
of becoming a
"big girl".

I'm kinda mourning
my "little girl"
already.
She might be ready
but I don't know if
I am!

Oh..yeah...and
just so
HE KNOWS
that
SHE STILL RULES..
This is what is
being used for a doorstop!
Why? Why you ask?
Cuz isss stihll reelly my owhn
ROOM, Nana.
sigh...
Well, we have jumped
ONE hurdle..I'm sure
there are several
more ahead!

That's too cute, Diana! I'm sure it will help, but I'll bet she checks in on him in "her" room. : )

Awww...that is sweet. Jack had a little monkey room. I think that sweet cheeks handled it pretty well. SO FAR:)

SweetCheeks is quite the stylist. She made some excellent choices.

I just knew she wasn't going to let go that easily! And I was proved right.
Beautiful transition. I love her quilt and pillow, and I'm sure it will find a place elsewhere.

I am so glad that little bitty girl thought it was best that E got the little bed now. Her monkey choices are so cute! I like the big letter E. I can't wait to see what he thinks about it.
Have a great day!

I am felling teary eyed for you! Times flies don't it. But it's sweet she thinks so much of her little brother.

Hi Diana, Sweet cheeks is so adorable and I get a chuckle when I read your blog. I laughed at the previous post. Children go to pre-school and learn so much faster even with watching children shows on television. My youngest counts in Spanish from watching Dora. They do grow up so very fast and I love her for fixing her room for brother. It will be interesting to watch them grow. Have a great weekend. Ours is cold and stormy. Hugs from Your Missouri friend.

So cute that you let her help decorate his little bed. If only we could feeze them.
We went out to Bob Evans with our two granddaughters last night. Goose is such a Sweet Cheeks.....she has us all rolling on the floor with laughter. I took her picture and she was trying to pen her mouth so I could see her "lungs".
Have fun with the litte guys this week-end.

The monkey bedding is adorable. Just what a little boy needs. I'm happy SweetCheeks seems to be adjusting to the change. Of course that can always change at bedtime.

How cute! Good idea to have her help with the shopping, but in true Sweet Cheeks style, I love that she insisted on the girly door stop. Heehee!

What a clever nana to let her design the room! I'm not totally certain you truly put on over on her, though. lol ~ Maureen

Sweet post such adorable curly locks of a child.

My oldest Granddaughter's room was all so girlish all her life and now she is in University living in the doorm but comes back every other weekend home too soon to be finished the year. She did changed her girlish room to more graphic bedspread and all. Then we knew our Missy for short was growing up. They grow up so fast. My daughter misses her so much this year away. Every time she goes pass the room she has a peek and the tears drop on her cheek. How can we let go of our little girl.
All about being a mom. Thanks for sharing your pictures. and your blog.

What a sweet girl she is. I love how she chose things that were special to him. You were so smart to let her help in the process so she felt that she made the decision to "let" Ethan use her special place at Nana's.
Too cute. :)

The monkey bed is so cute--Sweet Cheeks did a great job. So sad she's too big for the bed.

She did a great job picking things out for big boy E. Now, what did she get? Where will she be sleeping? Mine just climb in bed with me - or we all hang out of the sofa bed because our spare bedrooms are upstairs and my room is downstairs and I don't want them that far away.

Big girl is growing up and being so sweet to let little guy sleep in the room. I hope there's not too much monkey business going on in that cute room! Love all of the cute monkey items. The doorstop helps big girl know that she still has one foot in the room.
Hugs,
Jann

Diana your grandchildren are so stinkin' cute! My grand-babies have those same sheets too. They grow up too quickly, don't they? Your comments on my blog ALWAYS give me a big laugh by the way. When I posted "fun in the bedroom" and that my husband was gone I thought the same thing as you!!! So glad my hubby doesn't pay any attention to my blog, he may think the same thing!
