The Mighty Spruce

I wrote this for a
Gardening Group
that I belong to..
and thought I would share it here...
It looks like
January
to me!
The spruce stands in full glory,
A pretty sight to see.
As daybreak catches glimpses,
Of the snow upon this tree.

He lifts his boughs to Heaven,
To give glory and full praise.
He stands in solid tribute,
To the Maker all his days.

He shelters every bird's nest,
He guards it; standing green.
And he beckons to the bunnies
As they hide & remain unseen.

He will stand there oh-so-proudly,
If we will let him grow.
For he's living just as we are
And this is what I know.

A man with all his knowledge,
Cannot create a tree.
He can only guard & keep it,
For the gift of life is free.

This is beautiful!... you're a poet and I didn't know it! I love evergreens, too... first year with an artificial tree and I felt like there was something missing, yet I didn't kill a tree. Silly, I know :-)

Love your poetry! I hope you post more this year. I love how God made housing and shelter for the animals so pretty. I think I shall plant a spruce this year.

That is very good Diana!
You need to do a book of poems, you have the talent!
Stay warm, it's bitter cold over on this side of the state!
And go Packers, win today! So my hubby isn't depressed all week long.
Hugs,
Cindy

Wow, that is beautiful, Diana! I didn't know that you were a poet! You will have to share more with us! All of our snow has melted. The past several days it reached almost 50 degrees, a real heat wave! But today is super cold!

Another wonderful poem! You must print all of these and keep them together for your grandchildren. Next Christmas you can have your poems printed into book form and give each grandchild a book of your poetry! You are so talented.
It has been such a pleasure finding your blog and reading all your fantastic posts. I smile and giggle and love them. Thank you so much.

You cracked me up. giggle giggle. Now thats a thought to sew a little pocket inside my bra! My daugther Grace just got one of those teenie tiny ipods(the size of a wheat thin)and I told her she should keep it inside her bra, rather than her pocket, so she won't lose it. She does too!!! Happy New Year sweetie. ox`kerrie
