Remember the old movie
with Jack Nicholson
Well, we have kind of a
cuckoo thing going on here.
Too sick to go to school?
Have to stay home for the day?
Ummmm...What is the password?
Mom, I want to stay at
Nana's house.
You know- Things really DO
happen in threes.
Case in point.
Thing One......
Down for the count....
Followed by Thing Two...
This one insists she is NOT that sick
when I pick her up from school
but pukes in my car just as we
pull into the driveway
splashing clothes, shoes, car seat.
Thank you, Lord, for Resolve and
Frebreeze.
Not to be outdone,
Thing Three claims her spot
on the sofa a little later.
Now-WHY do they want to come here
when they could stay home with Mom?
Could it be they get to control the TV?
Or could it be I cater to their
little taste buds as they start to feel better?
Or...could it be that they just
LOVE the way I take care of them?
Just call me
Nurse Ratched!
Don't know WHO Nurse Ratched is?
You can read more about her here.
Feeling sick, are ya?
Come on over Nurse Ratched
Nurse Wretched Nurse Nana
will be glad to take care of you...
heh heh heh

uhoh! I hope you dont get it too!!
poor little girls!
take care!
xoxo
ooooh, you got me at the puke in the car. Isn't it always two seconds before they'd be in a more convenient place, like the toilet, or atleast the yard?..
You obviously provide a comfortable haven for the sick.
Nurse Ratched, I don't think so :-)
Funny...I was just thinking about that movie. You are NO Nurse Rachel...much too kind to be her.
Nurse ratched.....I think I will go to school afterall.
Diana, Those poor little girls. I have always hated to see sick kids. They want to feel better, so sometimes they get up too soon. My heart breaks for my g.kids when they are sick. Yes, they love being safe near you when they aren't well. Just don't get sick yourself .xoxo,Susie
Oh poor babies! I hope you stay healthy nurse Ratchet! I saw that movie once and never wanted to see it again because of what they do to Nicholson's part :-(
Hope the girls are all better now and you don't come down with what had them on the couch. I think you should have been here when I came out of surgery.
Hope the girls feel better soon! I had a couple puke in the car in my day. Isn't it a lovely feeling? :) Must be going around. Yesterday my husband and I drove up to Austin and saw two cars, at two different times, stopped on the side of the freeway with the parents standing there holding their kids while they vomited. We just looked at each other and nodded. :) Enjoy your weekend!
Oh, dear! These "things" are not much fun, are they? Our grandson had a bout with this ailment earlier in the week. Could be it is your extra TLC that they want.:-) xo Nellie
Nothing beats being spoiled by Nana when you are sick. I hope they are all soon feeling better.
I'm thinking you're loving every minute of it!! Sounds like your house is their favorite place to be! Have a great weekend... V
Nurse Ratched?? Yeah right...anything but! Poor little girls, I'm so sorry. But at least there's always's Nana's house to go to when you're feeling a little under the weather. You'll have them whipped into shape in no time. :) Hope they're feeling better, and that YOU don't get whatever it is they've got!
Debbie
Oh no, puke in the car is the worst. But I am sure it's nothing that the nurse can't handle!!LOL
Hope they are feeling better!
Hugs, Celestina Marie
Oh no, what sad little faces! But if I were sick, I'd want to be on your sofa too!
Those poor little girls. They deserve to be pampered by Nana. I hope they are all feeling better soon.
Good Morning Diana, I hope your little ones are feeling better and that you don't get it. They always want grandma's if they can get them. I have leather seats in my car for that reason. Much easier to clean up. Have a wonderful day. Happy St. Patrick's, Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend.
Being spoiled by your NaNa...PRICELESS!
I hope all are well soon, and you do not get it. xo
Poor babies and poor Nana. Hope everyone is on the mend soon.
Poor little girls, all at once! They are so fortunate to have you!
Oh no! Poor things...hope they get well soon and no one else gets sick. Nana is always better than Mom - I tell my kids I am spoiling their children when they finally have some so they will know how I felt. lol! :o)
Oh...they look so sick. Poor kids.
Hope everyone is feeling lots better now.
If not, I'm sure you will beat whatever is ailing them, OUT of them!!
You old witch!!
Have a nice day.
xo
In I get the flu, I'm flying up to Nurse Nana. A comfy couch and treats to eat. Who wouldn't want to go to Nana's. Take care so that Nurse Nana isn't the one on that sofa.........Sarah
Cute post!!
Can I tell you that when this movie came out, I was doing my Psych training in Nursing and we had to go see this movie as part of our classes???? And during that time, The Psych Hospital where I did my Psych training was on the cover of Psych Today because at that time they were fazing out hospitals and reintegrating Psych patients into the community. Can I just say that the hospital depicted in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest was just like the hospital where I did my training only you had to enter the grounds via bridge over a river and there was a mountain with cliffs on the other side!! I can tell you horror stories!!!! LOL!!
Hope everyone is better soon!!!
Hugs,
Deb
Those poor little girls:(
Hope they're feeling better! They know they're Nana spoils them!!
Sending get well ((((V I B E S)))))
Hope they feel better real soon. You are such a good Nana. Hang in there. XOXO ~Liz
You are some Nana.
How sweet that they want to be with you! So sorry they are down for the count but don't kids just bounce back so quickly? Now, sanitize your house so you don't get it!
XO,
Jane
I'm sure that just being at Nana's house makes them feel better!
Judy
I am sure Nurse Nana is much better to hang out with then Nurse wretched.
Jen
So sweet of you to take care of them when they are sick. I do everything but the tummy upsets......and they know it. That's because I end up in the hospital. Even though she is so sick the first pictures is just precious. Such sweet and cute little girls. Don't you get sick again.
So sorry - sick little ones are pitiful aren't they!
You should have a Lysol cocktail!
Oh no, those sweet little faces feel bad and know they get all their wishes come true with Nanna. Why do I know, I have a four year old grandson "who also Knows"! Hope everyone is on the speedy road to recovery........
~Emily
The French Hutch
Awwww. Such sweet, beautiful faces, but so sad they are sick. Nana, you are a good Nana. I had forgotten about that wretched Nurse Ratched.
Poor babies! I hope they are all feeling better and you don't get sick too!
Would you consider having Thing 4, Thing 5 and Thing 6 come over?? (My daughter, son and I are all sick and miserable.) I promise not to throw up on anything, and kids will say please and thank you. LOL. Just kidding. My husband will have to do...;)
XOXO,
Meredith
Us Nana's have all the right stuff for sick little ones. They get all they want here too, Nana just has a way to make them feel better. Your three are adorable.
Ann
it must do your heart good, that they ask for you:) poor things, hope you stay healthy, diana!
Hi, I sure hope you don't get it-not fun! Glad you are such a good nana cause when it comes to the flu I tell them to stay home.
I have co-workers just like that nurse!
If I get the flu, I'm coming to your house!!!
Something tells me that these little 'things' know how to work Nurse Ratched-I mean Nana- to help them feel better! ;)
Susan
Hope they are feeling better today! I'm sure you are nurse Nana and they love you to pieces!
Blessings,
Cindy
They're sick but they're not stupid..They know where they get spoiled...Of course I remember Nurse Ratched...great movie..

I bet they are sick of winter too.
Your a wonderful grandma Diana!
Hugs friend,
Cindy
Diana, I know my first thought should be about the poor sick darlings, but that first picture--that is seriously great art! I mean, award winning, frame worthy. You are good.
You are so cute...I am sorry your little sweeties are sick but I know you are one sweet nurse..I just know it. xoxo
You are such a good Nana! Not 'Wretched' at all :)
Poor dears, I hope they don't give it to you. My 9 year old spent several days on the couch with a fever and when she felt like it she was using my phone to text her Grandma!
Girl .. that is too cute..and that little puppy in the pic with her is priceless she will treasure that one.. Glad Nana got to take that break .. YES thank the LORD above for the febreeze sister .. HUGS
Poor little things! It's so hard to see them sick. My husband loves that old movie so I've heard Nurse Ratched & Good Old Jack quotes for years! :)
Oh! Poor little sweet girls. Diana your are some wonderful grandmother and blogger friend.
Smiles Dottie
Whoa! That's too many germs for me! Nope! Here, mommy stays home and meemaw says "don't breathe on me" LOL! Hugs, Leena
Nobody can do a better job than nana can!!
If you are positively certain Mommy didn't coach them to ask to stay with Nana, then it's very sweet that they feel better when they are with you. Hope this round is over soon!
There is nothing like a nana, Nurse Ratched or not. Hope they are all feeling better and you don't catch it.
Hugs,
Laura
Oh, your poor girls, Diana! It sounds like you take good care of them and I'd be happy staying with you, too. : ) Hope they feel better soon {and hope you don't catch it!}.
Hope everyone is feeling better. And hope you avoid the plague. The next time I am sick and puking, I'll come lay on your couch and you can nurse me back to health too.
I had a friend who was a divorced Dad raising four "stairstep" daughters. They all got sick in the night and would stop by his bedroom on the way to the bathroom to throw up ---ooops---too late!
still laughing.
but you can tell they're not well. that mischievous sparkling little light is out of their eyes right at the moment.
soon to be back!
xo
Poor honeys! I hope they feel better soon! Grandmas always make things better.
Grandma does it best...the poor sweet things look absolutely zonked! Hope they are better now!
Poor little babies- I hope they are on the mend and that Nana didn't get sick.
xo, T.
Poor babies!
I have always loved that movie! Nurse Ratchett happened to me one time. :(
xo
Pat
So sorry they didn't feel well but they look so sweet!
What a cute post. You're the Martha Stewart of nanas. No wonder they love to come to your house.
Oh, those children look just beautiful even when they are not feeling well. I am a nurse and I still gag when I have to clean up puke. Lousie Fletcher (Nurse Ratchet) was from my home state of Alabama...even tho she was "the bad guy" in this movie we were proud of her and all the attention she got for this movie. Both of her parents were deaf...her aunt taught her how to speak normally.
