Most of you know that we live
on the Bay.
What you may not know is that
when storms move in across
the Bay they often bring
straightline winds.
They are powerful,
sometimes damaging,
and sometimes just plain annoying.
We have to go out our back
garage door to get our newspaper.
This has been plowed-
Thank Goodness!
Yes- Yes-that is our neighbor's house
on the other side of the
PILE OF SNOW.
Guess I won't be hanging any clothes out on that line.
Walking back towards the garage
I see this.
Turning around....
It is 12º as I type this-
Minus 8º with wind chill factored in.
Pop over for a cup of coffee
later today-
I'm clearing a path to the front door
for you right now......
for you right now......
Happy Belated First Day Of Spring!

lol! happy second day of spring!
supposed to be up in the 40s next week here.. so fingers crossed that we are looking at the last of our snow!
happy thursday!
xoxo
Wow! Well if it makes you feel any better, we're in the twenties this morning here in Central Alabama with a hard freeze, and we could get sleet and snow tonight! :/ NOTHING compared to you, but still....last time I checked this was the Deep South!
I'll but my Smart Wool Socks and flannel lined jeans on and be right over for that coffee!!! My fave is Starbucks' Cafe Verona. ;P
We've been getting snow on and off every day since last week. March is leaving its mark! Our big piles of snow will take a long time to be gone wont they! Spring has arrived according to the calendar, but not so much in real life!
I live in Kenosha by Lake Michigan and we have the same conditions, except the snow that lines our street is dirty and ugly. When will Spring come to Wisconsin?
Happy Spring my foot! We will have a high of 31 degrees today, Diana. Yesterday it was colder than any day of Winter we've had. A checked the forecast for the next few days and I'm not seeing an Spring there either. Last year this day it was 86 degrees. I am hoping that because we never got the warm days early this year that the Summer will not be as humid as last year.
Ha, I thought we were in trouble with our forecast for sleet and snow (snow in the south this time of year at most will be flurries). Thanks for plowing the path, I’ll be over a little later today for coffee!
Maybe a few blooms are ready to pop out when the snow melts away............

Nothing like you guys but here in N.C we are having 40 degree days man I don't think spring is ever going to come ! I hope you have a wonderful day !
Hopefully it will melt soon...that's a lot of snow!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
Okay Diana, after seeing your snow, I will stop my whining. We had 1/4 of snow last night....but all our snow here had melted and gone. Your big snow piles will last a bit. Brrr...hard to even "think " spring with that much snow. Be careful going out. xoxo,Susie
Oh my word, that is a ton of snow. Hope it's the last for this year. Hugs, Marty
Wow! You poor thing! I've never seen so much snow! It's freezing cold here this morning, but it is supposed to warm up later today. We're expecting some wintry mix tomorrow and then rain all weekend. Not going to be pretty here. Hope you'll get some relief from all of that snow soon!
Diana..I guess we did have a spring day here in Iowa, compared to you guys! I can not imagine that kind of snow in March! I think I'll join you for coffee when the weather improves...lol
Blessings,
Gert
No,ma'am! You come on over here if you can find your way thru the yellow pollen fog. Gorgeous snow, but I know you are longing for spring. Hang in there!
xo, T.
Thunder Bay? Hudson's Bay? Because it looks like great weather for Inuits. (We're supposed to get a hard freeze tonight. What is up with this weather?)
I don't know what to say. That is a lot of snow for sure. I will try and blow some warm winds your way. I am full of a lot of hot air.
Amazing how pictures can make you colder-LOL
Warm up this weekend? Could it be true? Whoopie (but I'm not holding my breath)
Well, well, I didn't realize that you live just across the road from me. lol Those pictures are just what we're looking at here today too. Spring, yoo hoo, where ARE YOU???!!
Oh that is funny!! We have snow too, and more coming! BUT the end is near…..pretty soon, that snow will melt and we will find ourselves wandering around our yards on 70 degree days….I can't wait!!
I've been down south visiting my parents. Came home last night on the first day of spring to frigid temps. Eleven degrees this morning. What kind of spring is this? Oh yeah, the Midwestern kind. At least we don't have all that snow.
That kind of looks nightmarish to me. :) Hope you will have spring there very soon!
Oh NO! I Love snow but maybe that's because I haven't seen it like your scene since I lived in Maine. Stay warm
Ha I was complaining about a little dusting that came last night! Warm hugs to you, Diana!
Hmmm...that inch we had this morning doesn't seem too bad now seeing YOUR snow, sheesh....
There were 2 inches on the ground this morning so I have absolutely nothing to complain about after seeing your pictures :) I do hope it melts quickly. And that cup of coffee sounds delightful!
Enjoy your snow!
Hugs,
Stephanie
OMGosh, that's just plain nasty. Hope it melts soon for you, and you find your clothes line.
It's awful. One good thing about moving from there is you won't have to live so close to the water and that strong wind. Hang in there, Diana! Once it starts to melt, it will disappear overnight as it always seems to and the buds on the trees will be out.
Good Lord you have THAT MUCH SNOW right now???... ugh, then I won't gripe about the flurries we're getting today. I can see the ground atleast!... Sheesh!
You got our load. Poor dear.
Ya a nice cuppa sounds good Di.
I am a tea Granny. Be right over in my sled.
Love ya girl.
Great Spring pictures. (Yuks the snow I mean )
We have second day of Spring.
Last year people were sitting outside in shorts and a tank top. Can you believe that. This Spring in long john under the snow pants. Brrrrrrrrr
Now I know why you miss Florida!
Stay warm my friend!
Marie
Good Morning Diana, All I can say is wow. They are predicting a winter mix for us and some snow, but nothing like that. I stopped at the store last night. I am at home today. It is cold and I don't feel the best. I ate supper with hubby last night and I tasted it all the way home. I took my meds for the stomach, but I still felt a little yucky this morning. I must have needed a day of rest. I think I will pass on the coffee this morning, but Spring is coming or so they say. Have a wonderful day. Stay warm curl up in front of the fire with a magazine or a good book. Hugs and Prayers from your Missouri Friend
Good grief.......where did all that snow come from. Where is Spring.
I'll stop complaining about my never ending winter after seeing the volume of snow you are dealing with!
Oh My ~ It's Cold here, but only flurries, Thank God!
Wishing you warmth of the Sun & Flurry free days.....
xox
Cheryl
GOOD GRIEF!!!
reminds me of our days in new york and minnesota.
sunny and -40 below in Minnesota that year for days on end.
unbelievable. here's to SPRING for you!
O M G !
miss that kind of snow.
I remember it well
we just have a dusting here in Cinci today
still doesn't feel like Spring no matter how much snow invades the season
-KAT-
Oh my that's alot of snow and brrrrrr...so cold!!!...I wish we could have coffee together...on the bright side, that sky is such an amazing blue!!!...have a great day Diana, xo, Mariaelena
WOWZA! That is a heck of a lot of snow, it's in the high 60's and I'm cold, think I should keep my mouth closed....Hoping some warm weather is around the corner for you..
XXO
Kristin
I don't envy you...it will melt soon...maybe
You must get that lake affect thing. I have seen winters here that have gigantic amounts of snow but we are blessed to get most of our snow in the mountains. Woke up to snow cover this morning but it has all melted now - not to make your jealous or something!
i would move...seriously, oh my goodness!
Yes, you and I are lamenting Mother Nature's wrath! You got hit pretty bad- our torms was a week ago or so. I am so over this wintry mess. Now the rains will begin.... At least my door flowers look springy! LOL
Yuck, that looks colder than a welldiggers........................ toe.
Oh Diana didn't realize how bad it is and I am fussing that it's only going to be 71 today. Shame on me. I won't tell you what a beautiful day we are having I just hope this is the last of your bad weather. I can remember when we lived in Ohio by Lake Erie and we had terrible snow storms. That's why as soon as
I graduated from HS, packed my bags and headed for sunny CA all by my self.
Will pray that you get sunny warm days by friend.
Mary
Diana! You have a ton of snow!!!
In my world we did get a snow fall but NOT near what you have!
You will have to shovel in Spring!!
Happy Spring dear girl!
Diana,
Oh, I know you long for the spring, but I can't help but LOVE these snow pictures. They take my breath away. It's been way too long that I visited the snow. I just want to play in it.
Thanks for your comment on our post today. Your blog name is probably one of the few that I know where it comes from. It's nice to see how our dear friends we talk to every day came up with their blog name, ya know?
Have a sweet day, Diana, and your snow pictures made me happy today.
~Sheri
My, my, my. That is incredible. Yesterday was a gorgeous day here, but today we are having those same winds, but no snow or rain. Stay warm and keep the coffee perking.
Hi, we've got rain and snow is due to follow tomorrow-I'm hoping not! I want warm spring weather, but we can use the moisture. Stay inside and stay warm. Hugs, Noreen
I hate for you to see what I posted today!
The last time we were in Algoma for winter, we had a blizzard. Happened at night, and I was scared to death. Dave slept like a baby, and I was up all night watching it. It was like a hurricane with snow!!! We couldn't get out of the house for two days because all the doors (and the basement door) were all blocked! It was something!!!
I hope it thaws for you soon!
Nancy
Ick!!! There has to be a thaw at some point. I'm concerned that it is going to go straight from winter to summer.
stay warm.
Hugs,
Laura
Wow Diana ... I'm sending warm wishes your way!
I feel for you. Our snow is gone - for the moment. I think they are calling for more :( I am considering giving in and just going insane from all the cold and nastiness. Sigh.
Oh, Diana, we have had a miserable winter, one snow storm after another! I can relate to your post!
Thank you so much for the good wishes for our sweet boy. I am still waiting to hear something from the clinic. I may give in and call them soon...
Donna
You make me laugh altho that snow is no laughing matter..
How amazing! But it sure looks pretty....from here! Stay warm! Spring is on the way! Sending you some WARM Southern hugs, Diane
Well now I feel really foolish for complaining about our cold weather. Wow ~ look at all of that snow! Happy to be following you now too.
Big Hugs,
Susan and Bentley
Happy Spring...it can only get better from here right? I better keep my mouth shut as we have not had one flake this year, or cold temps, or wind...rain though, we've got plenty of that. Snow sure is beautiful against those bright blue skies.
Oh my goodness! Diana, I'll be right over for that coffee! :) I just love snow, but you really have far too much now! Happy Spring! I have been in real estate school and not able to visit as I would like to. Get that sled out and enjoy and have a run for my hot flashes and me!
And here I was talking of cold lemonade!
Oh, my. Spring has to arrive sooner or later, right? It seems a little silly to be thinking about an Easter egg hunt soon with all this wacky weather.
Oh my! I wish I could send some of this Arizona sunshine your way to melt the snow. At least all of that moisture will soak into the ground for all of the beautiful spring flowers that will EVENTUALLY peek through.
xo Danielle
Oh, my! I call that a LOT of snow! We have no snow here, though there is a chance for a few random flurries in the next few days - after we have some HEAVY rain, according to the forecast. We do, however, have some very cold wind! We are not really accustomed to very much cold weather here, so we aren't really equipped to deal with it.
xo Nellie
Oh my gosh! So I guess I can't tell you about seeing the crocus blooming down town...
Jen
I have no words. I can't believe what I am seeing! You have my sympathy. My goodness. I hope this is a distant memory for you very soon! Hugs to you! xoxo
Oh, Diana, I can't begin to imagine this kind of snow. Wish I could send you some of our beautiful spring weather. Stay warm.........Sarah
We were in single digits this morning with wind chills around 0, but we only had flurries that didn't stick. After seeing your pictures, I will quit complaining. Oh my gosh...you really got hit with it. We have a snow storm supposed to get us this weekend. I keep hoping they are wrong!
It's unseasonably cold here too, but only snow flurries...nothing compared to what you have...yikes! And the wind here, also being on the water, is ferocious! Stay warm!
Kat
Bah humbug! Too much snow for the first day of spring! Heck, that's too much snow period! Hope it warms up and melts soon! Hugs, Leena
wow diana!!! thats unbelievable!!! my kids would just looove it!!! we dont get any snow here at all, they havent ever seen real snow! Hope you manage to keep nice and warm!! lots of love!
laura xx
Diana, I think I am impressed! LOL So much snow! I am also a little envious. Our weather is so hot and humid already. What's in store for us this Summer? We are a little scared! Although they said tomorrow we will go over 90 degrees, we are supposed to get a cold front on Sunday that will bring the temperatures down to 39. Of course, that will last about a couple of hours in which the whole city will come to an stand still, because we don't know how to behave when it gets that COLD! LOL Enjoy your weekend!
Snow is everywhere! Pray for Nick. Trying to get him back to college tomorrow. Pray for good weather to get that plane back to OKC! Then a two hour drive to the college in Kansas. Going to miss him lots! Been a fun week having lunch with him four days this week! Hugs Anne
