You know how it is
when you have one of
Those Days?
A day when you aren't really
sick but you just feel kind
of crummy?
A day when you have projects
staring you in the face
but really don't feel like doing
anything~
Yesterday,
I had that kind of day.
So....
when I made my run
to the grocery store
this magazine popped
into my cart
all by itself.
Not sure HOW that
happened because I
kind of
"gave up"
buying magazines.
I have a hoard of them
that would be fodder
for one of those
reality shows....
kinda...
except they are all
organized and there's
no poop on them...
cat or human.
(You HAVE seen
Hoarders, right?;)O
So, yesterday I spent a
bit of time
sitting on the sofa,
watching some mindless TV,
drinking Starbucks coffee
AND
reading through
Look at this!
Oh...
Don't you just
LOVE
this magazine?
I think it a new publication
as I have never seen it before.
I want to sit here
and drink coffee.
Or...
Lie here and read a book.
I would love to be able
to look out my kitchen window
and see this...
I am soo anxious for
Spring this year.
It has been a long
(although mild)
winter for me.
Now what WAS I going do
yesterday?
Ready?
Are you sure?
Well...
I was going to
PAINT MY LITTLE OLD TV
white!
Shut up!
I know!
I know!
It's in the sitting room
and still plays tapes..
and I have a lot of
old classic movies on tape.
But-it sticks out like a
sore thumb...or like a ...
like a black TV.
Seriously!
Uh-oh~
The crazy lady is
at it again!

Go for it girlfriend, you will be starting a trend and I support you. What's the worst that can happen? What is it we DIY's say if you mess up just paint it again. Good luck. And oh yes I want one of those magazines.
I saw this magazine the other day, and I passed it by ... trying to reduce the clutter and chaos, and I think I will now have to reconsider my decision. I check in on "Hoarders" when my husband is away on business. It always motivates me to work harder to get our own place into shape. Within a week of watching an episode, my pattern is to take a big load of stuff to donate to the various thrift shops.
Would you believe I have the very same TV! We bought it years ago so when one of the kids were sick, they could watch a movie in their room and not spread germs everywhere.
Now, don't you go making it all pretty and stuff because then I might feel guilty having a sore-thumb looking little old TV.
So pretty Diana! I'd love a garden
It was one of those days? When odd projects popped into your head? Well I spent some time looking for a piece of cement board to play with, and didn't find it. Wanted to make a small cabinet top that would stand out...Hey sis, like minds and all...
neither of us accomplished our goal...
I think they have paint that will work on that TV. They have paint for plastics and things now, so the plastic paint might work. Or - you could sew a beautiful little lacy TV Cover or something. You could put velcro strips around the screen to hold it in place? Hmmm... whatever you do, please take pictures! It will be a first for sure, but it might start a new trend!
Hmmmm.... Trendy TV Covers.... maybe you could sell them on Etsy?
I saw someone painted a washing machine, Diana, so what's crazy these days! I have those days, too, and I know I've lots I can do but I'm still kind of "blah" and bored. That is a good day to watch a favorite movie or catch up on magazines. I haven't seen this one before, but I may have to get it. These pictures are gorgeous!
I bought that magazine about 2 weeks ago. I long for the kinds of gardens they picture with all the "interesting" stuff, but Hubby is not as fond of the look as I am and if I "junk up the yard" too much, where would he get to run his precious John Deere?
I'm so tired of looking at the winter yard. I'm ready for color! The magazine looks great-lots of wishful thinking!
Paint that black tv! Nothing will happen. ; )
Hi Diana...I have been a bad blogging friend lately. :( That magazine looks like it's right up my alley. Love you are showing. I'm with the others. Try painting the tv and let us know how it goes!
Donna
I know that day! I call it winter lol! I'm going to have to find that magazine. I don't usually but them anymore but that is beautiful! Have fun painting your tv. I could see it white with little cabbage roses and leaves swirled about.
Hi, I love the gardens you showed-oh what joy to have one like that. I'll have to look for the magazine. I can't wait to see how your t.v. turns out. Have a wonderful day!

Before blogging, a perfect little break (escape) was Starbucks and a new Magazine. Now we have the best of both worlds! Good luck with the paint experiment! Please show us when you finish! Hope you are feeling better!

Diana, If you paint that tv...please post the pictures. I would love to see it. You daring thing you. Oh yes, I totally love those garden /junking magazines. I would dearly love one of those lounging areas...but I am always scared of spiders, eweee! Even right now, there's goose bumps on my scalp. Take it easy, till you've drank many starbucks' coffees and read that magazine from front to back.:):) xo, Susie
I'm on strike with buying magazines, too...I don't go down that aisle. Especially the garden magazines~they make me feel inferior! These are really pretty pictures but I am no where in that league.
I want to see that TV of your when it's done! You may start a whole new trend. And feel better soon!
XO,
Jane
Oh my lord, you just gave me an idea! I have one of those tvs in our bedroom - big and bulky and black. If you do it, will you post the results and give us your tips?
I've bought that magazine before - it's pretty neat!
xo

Love the photos in that magazine, but be sure to take your Zyrtec before stepping into those pages. Your Friday sounds so p,easant, but jope you'reback to 100% today.
I had to read that three times - I kept thinking I was not understanding - paint the tv? She's painting the tv? It actually is quite genius. What about contact paper? You are going to start a whole new trend now.
Diana, That looks like an awesome magazine. I would love to have a garden like that. I have never seen that magazine either. I will have to look for it.
Have a great Sabbath, Ginger
So, I think we all want you to paint the tv (curiosity you see)!
Keep us posted!
Blessings,
Susie
Oh, let us know if it works to paint your TV, I would love to do that!! So glad you understand about the dead cat LOL! Oh, and tell sweet cheeks I was just at Dizzy World this week!
Carol
I know how you feel..mild winter here, bummed because it is just gray and cloudy for weeks. I need to see the sun, you would think I live in Alaska, not South Louisiana.
I say go for it, paint that TV. Each of our kids had one just like that. Those were great little tvs.
Can't wait to see how it turns out.
Enjoy your weekend,
Melissa
I think painting your TV is a fabulous idea! Please post on it when you are done. I have a feeling you may start a national or even international craze!
I have never seen that magazine either but will keep my eyes open for it now. Always looking for garden inspirations once the weather breaks!

Hello Nana Diana

Only you would think of painting a tv, can't wait to see it :)
Suzann ~xoxo~
Me thinks I need to make a grocery store run this week to look for that magazine, D! Yummy! Painting your TV??? What a GREAT idea, girlie!!! Go for it! Worse thing you'd have to buy a new one. lol!
xoxo laurie
Can you really paint a TV? that is what every one is now thinking... I think you may have started a trend!
Maybe soon we will be able to purchase special TV Paint at the store~ I love those photos, esp. that one with the little garden shed ~ I think I may just have to head to the store to find it, after the Grands all leave tomorrow night, but then again, I will probably be too tired~ Little guy is still sleeping, he cried when he got here since he knew his Mommy was leaving him again for the night, he is only 2 & loves to be Home & in his own bed. He fell asleep just after he got here, I rocked him to stop his crying & he was out, 5 hours later & still sleeping, I think I may have a LONG night ahead for ME!
Thanks for sharing the new magazine, I can't wait for SPRING!!!!!
I didn't know you could paint tv's, you will have to share.
Love the pics Diana...I am so ready for spring!
I'm still in AZ. but heading back to the frozen tundra tomorrow!
Hugs,
Cindy
Hi Diana,
Aren't those pics lovely. Makes me wish I had a back yard. lol
We just have a little front yard that is half patio. Hmm....anyone gotta a jack hammer?? lol
Interesting idea, painting your TV. It has to match.
Thank you for your nice comments on my blog. :)
Have a great rest of the weekend. Take care, Janet W
Oh, my gosh, Diana! I'm like you; I used to get Home Companion, Victoria, Romantic Homes, Window & Wall, and several more (there was one that was mainly just about painted projects/ faux finishes...more "decorator" than "craft", though ~ "Paint Decor"; I think that was the name) anyway, like you, I have just about stopped buying all of them, even when Victoria came back ~ I used to buy them automatically, now there has to be a real good reason for me to buy one! (I do buy the Art Doll & Where Women Create...usually)...but, I need to find this one!! ♥
XOXO

Hi Diana! I love the looks of this magazine, and would have wanted to buy it too. I have limited my subscriptions to Traditional Home and Country Home right now because I have so little time to look at them. But, I almost ordered Country Gardens the other day. It looks alot like this one. Great stuff! You are so funny, regarding hoarders and cat poop. LOL! I can't believe I just now signed up with friend connect on your blog. I thought I had already followed you after first visiting you several weeks back but I guess I didn't. I was wondering why your posts were not coming up on my feed. Anyway, following you now! You certainly have some beautiful grands! Your chili recipe sounds delicious too, hope you have a very blessed Sunday!
OK Diana,
I think I've just got to see it - I can't imagine it in my mind's eye! (My mind is cloudy today, UGH!) I love the bunny next to it! Is it getting a fresh coat too?
Gentle hugs,
Donna
I used to have one just like it...although it may have been a bit larger. So it would have taken more paint ~ :/ Anyway, I took it to the nursing home when my mother was there so she could watch her favorite movies. It was great!
Let me know how the painting goes. If you could see my current TV's, they're not much different. I'm really behind technology wise.
xo

I just had to laugh because that same magazine jumped in my basket all by itself the other day, too! I don't remember ever seeing it before either. No, I didn't need another magazine either ... but yes, it's a great one! Come on Springtime!
We still have our little old black tv with built in vcr too! I just can't get rid of it:) Your sweet Charles is growing so handsome. ox
Flee Market Garden Book. That sure is a wonderful zoom of Spring coming on front cover. Yes the winter was mild compared to last year. Right now I am in the middle of mud,mud everywhere and snow still in the back driveway with a tad of ice. Oh well. Lets keep our chins up. The Robins are bobbing around. Other birds singing. Good news to my eyes and ears.
Hi, That last little is garden shed is mine at My Petite Maison with my cat, Giles. You should link to the source or not share the photos. The photographer is Mark Lohman and he takes photos for a living.
