Alphabet Laughs-F Is For Furniture And Friday And Flippers

F
IS FOR
FURNITURE
Good Morning!

It's Alphabet Day
once again!
So...
F is for
Furniture!
Would you believe I
still have some pieces
of furniture I need
to "get at".
Wanna see?
Ready?
That is just ONE piece...
Ummm..what's this?
These are hiding in my
garden room so
MyHero doesn't see them.
I had to get them out of the
garage..so....well...there they are...
...SO WHAT?

Hmmm...THIS piece
that I showed you first
is next on the
chopping block.
Er...I mean painters' cloth.
It has been moved
INSIDE to the
Painting Headquarters...
Shhhh..MyHero thinks I do
this OUTSIDE.
Don't you dare rat me out.
I have to do it this week
because I have a
PARTY coming up here
next week.
Shhhh....it's a secret..
not the furniture- the party.
I'll be telling you about that
later--maybe when I get to
P...or maybe before!

Yep she is...
a perfectly nice little table.
Good lines, huh?
I think she will look good
painted and slightly distressed,
don't you?

I think I will do it TODAY.
That would be
FRIDAY!
Do  you love Friday?
I know lots of people do.
In Wisconsin we call it
FRY-DAY.
WHY, you ask...
okay-so you didn't ask but
I am gonna tell you anyway
In Wisconsin they have
something called a
FISH FRY.
It happens
EVERY FRIDAY/FRYDAY.
Like Wisconsinites aren't fat
enough from eating all those
fried cheese curds and
drinking all that beer
they gotta have a fish fry.
Wisconsin is famous for its
FISH FRY.
You'd have to drive to MI to find this one.
Every Thursday people call
other people and ask
them which
FISH FRY they are going
to on FRY DAY.
It's a sickness I tell you.
I just don't answer my phone
because I don't LIKE
FISH FRY DAY.
They are served with...
WHAT ELSE?
FRENCH FRIES!
And coleslaw and
BUTTERED RYE BREAD
and a slice of onion....
We'll go get you a plate when
you come visit me...
Remember though,
you gotta be here on FRY DAY-
bring your own
cholesterol pills, m'kay?

Speaking of FISH
 brings us to
FLIPPERS.
Now I am NOT talking about
using your
"swear finger"
as SweetCheeks calls it...
although she has NO idea
WHICH FINGER is the
"swear finger"-lol
(how DO these kids learn these
things so young)
YOU know which finger I
am talking about though, don't you?

Well, I am NOT talking
about that here-although I hear
some of you use it quite often
when navigating traffic...
you know who you are-I am
not going to put your name out there.

Soooo....F is for Flipper
Am I talking about
THIS FLIPPER?
Nope!
Am I talking about
THIS kind of FLIPPER?
Nope!
I am talking about
THIS KIND OF FLIPPER.
They use these in
Beauty Pageants.
Now, I am NOT entering any
beauty pageants but I am
thinking they might come in
handy while I am listening to
SOMEONE drone on and on
and on and on and on
about
GOLF!
And that's all I'm saying 'bout that.
If you click on the image you can order some for yourself...
just in case you have to  listen to boring stuff, too.

Have a Snap On Smiley FryDay!

You don't like Fish Fry-Day? You're an awful Wisconsinite!
Just remember, when the big-chill comes and you have no body fat, don't come crying to me!

F is for "not Finding Fault" and a lot of people around here are feeling that way these days...F is also for "Forgiveness" I'd like to see some of that too. Have a lovely Flippin Fish Friday! Joan

Diana, I love fish but I don't like it fried. I know what you are saying about listening to GOLF stories....Ted will go on and on about his game some days..the whole time I am thinking ," gaaa who cares". It would be mean to say. So I asked so many questions, he stops telling me that story.LOL.
Smiles, xo, Susie

You have lots of great projects on the line up, I can't wait to see them finished!!I always get a happy feeling after coming here,

Yum ... fish. Now you've gone and made me hungry.

I figured 'flipper' was the one that dealt with teeth. I'm in the process of getting a dental implant, and a one-tooth flipper is part of daily life for me ... unless I want to resemble a Jack 'o lantern, that is. I have often thought of those TV pageant children as I pop mine in before I answer the door. Don't want to frighten the neighbors. :)

I'll be sure and be there on FRY DAY, but maybe I should ask what kind of fish. I'm a fish snob.

Waiting to see the finished product and the process

I'd be in trouble if they had Fish Fryday around here. I like my fish with ketchup though and that's probably illegal in some states.

That table is going to look great, Diana! It sounds like I am not the only one to hide pieces and do the "of course, I paint this outside! What do you think I am?". Although, I don't have an outside to really do this anymore, I wind up using the garage or painting something in place.

I can't wait to see what you do with that table. I have one just like it, but I'm trying to find a small buffet or something with storage to replace it. I won't get rid of the table, though. It fits nicely in front of our bar area and I like to use it occasionally to serve deserts - but, I'm really thinking candy bar!

We have fish fries hers, too, Diana, but I've never heard of serving them with onion and rye bread! What, you don't serve yours with fried cheese? Where on earth is that Fat Man place? Oh, we are all fat enough over here on the other side of Lake Michigan! Yes, we sure are!
Can't wait to see your table, it is going to be flippin' fabulous!

I think a fish fry every once in a while would be good, but maybe not every week. I've got my fork and my bib ready :)

Baby Shannon is doing well. She has really long fingers and toes and we are trying to figure out where she got them. Most of us all have short ones.

Rye bread with the fish fry - they don't do that in the west.

I love fish and chips. But Fish fry every Friday? It would be too hard to watch my husband consume the great amount of tartar sauce he requires for eating fish.

Beth said...

Another great post!

I love fish fries but I don't like rye bread.

Your post cracked me up today. I remember "the" conversation when hubby told my mama about "the bird." She was shocked and amazed (at age 76!)

Everyday is Fry-Day here in Louisiana but you won't find any rye bread served with it, usually just a big, fat ol' southern biscuit!

Diana LaMarre said...

We have a lot of fish frys in MI, too. I don't eat much fried fish on Friday, but I do love to order broiled whitefish on Friday...had it last week, in fact and it was delish!

I can't wait to see what you do with that table. I have a china cabinet that I have been going to do "something" with for the past 20 years...I wonder if I ever will! :)

Sweet Posy Dreams said...

I'm with you, I'll skip the fried fish. Down south where I'm from originally, fried catfish is the big thing. Not for me, thank you. A nicely grilled trout will do me just fine.

A fish fry sounds good...but not EVERY WEEK...maybe once a month?
I can't wait to see your finished piece; lovely lines!
Those flippers are just weird.
XOXO

Oh, how funny, Diana! In former days we would have been excited about a "Fish Fry Day," but we have tried to "reform."

Good luck with your furniture work! I'm interested to see the results.

Diana, I love the table and I know it will be great, I know. I am the ultimate in husband deceit but even I couldn't hide that much furniture. You are the master!
After 54 years, I can't get away with that, "Oh, we've had that for ages, don't you remember?".
Love to you my friend. Ginger

I have that same sofa table! You have to give me some pointers how you recreated it for the party cause I saw it there looking so sweet! I need to reform myself to stop eating fried anything! Yesterday I had fried ice cream! LOL! But my Sweets split it with me! I love fish. I do eat it healthier these days but there was a time a fish fry was heavenly!
