FAT!
She's so FAT!
Look at HOW FAT that one is!
FAT!
One of the biggest prejudices in the world.
IF you have NEVER been FAT
you have NO IDEA what it's like.
You have NO IDEA about how
people sit in judgement of you
and the raised eyebrows and the
snickers behind your back...
that sometimes hit you in the face.
Why am I writing about this today?
Because of something that I came across
on the internet that made me raise my
eyebrows!
Yes! I can STILL raise my eyebrows
no BOTOX for this girl old lady.
Anyway-
I have always loved the colors
and simple fashion created by
Lily Pulitzer.
When I was young and lived in Florida
Lily Pulitzer's influence was everywhere on the
East Side of the Intercoastal in
Palm Beach and she dressed the likes of
Jackie Kennedy.
Lily Pulitzer was a lovely lady..
and gracious from what
I understand.
After her death,
her family decided to make her clothes
AFFORDABLE and market them through
Target.
And- Horror of Horrors-
She is selling
PLUS SIZES!
You can just bet the
Palm Beach Battalion
in up in arms!
Lily CERTAINLY WOULD NOT WANT
her clothes sold to PLUS SIZE people
~or would she~?
One of her STAFF MEMBERS didn't think so.
She had this posted in her cubicle.
(down at the bottom right it says
YOU SHOULD PROBABLY
JUST KILL YOURSELF)
Do you suppose she was a bully in school?
One of the people that made fun of anyone that
didn't fit her idea of perfect?
SHE DREW THIS ONE , too!
Hmmmm...how many
PLUS SIZE SALES
does it take to keep someone like that
employed and sitting in that cubicle?
Just wondering.
I have been up and down and
everywhere in between
over my lifetime.
Once when I was TEN POUNDS
over the LOW WEIGHT
on a chart a Florida Doctor tried to give me
DIET PILLS
because
"while ten pounds doesn't look bad at 25
it will make you look FAT at 35!
Seriously?
A DOCTOR?!!!
Anyway! I could show HIM what FAT at 35
looked like--but I don't want to go back there!
Now, before you get all riled up, ladies,
just know that I love people
NO MATTER THEIR SIZE.
I don't think someone's weight
defines them.
We are all just on a life journey and we are all
a little different
and I think we are supposed to
love and accept each other just as we are.
It is not our job to take someone else's inventory.
FAT? Actually I kinda love FAT.
because I do love a
FAT BABY!
Yes.I.Do!
And that BABY FAT will be gone
way too soon!
Next time I talk about
FAT I will tell you my
SWEET CHEEKS STORY-
But that's enough
FAT TALK for TODAY!
although
FAT CHANCE ANYONE IS
GONNA SHUT ME UP, HUH?

That is such a sad commentary regarding the lady in the cubicle (she should have been fired or at the least, reprimanded!). When I was on massive doses of prednisone, going to Jazzercise, I felt so disconnected from everyone because I had prednisone fat! After my surgery, I lost 50 pounds (in one month!) . I don't recommend it. Many in that class told me how great I looked and what did I do, etc.? I told them I had cancer. That shut them up! (Actually I DID have precancerous cells, so not a complete lie).
Thanks for the post!
Deb
I would assume that the employee is no longer sitting in his/her cubicle, but is rather pounding the pavement looking for another job. That should keep him/her in shape.
Shame on the person who had these in her cubicle. I had the opposite problem growing up. I was very skinny. I was teased, called names, and would often overhear whispers that I must be anorexic. In high school, boys would throw pine cones at me as I walked home from school....all because I was thin. At age 30, finally God blessed me with a Dr. who recognized that I had IBS and food allergies and now I can eat....and guess what??? Some folks think I am overweight!!!!! My mother was blind, and as sad as that was, it taught me that the way someone looks does not matter!!!
A person's weight, age, and shoe size are all just numbers. I still weigh the same as I did when I was in my 20s, but the shape is completely different and I couldn't hope to fit into clothes I had back then. Besides, someone's size doesn't matter ... just like it doesn't matter what color their skin is, where (or if) they go to church, and so many other things that have nothing to do with who someone is on the inside. It's the INSIDE that defines who we are ... but the inside is full of guts and we don't necessarily want to go looking around in there.
Oh that bully! Diana, that's just awful and shame on her!
Aww, now on another note, what a sweet, beautiful and darling baby!
Hi Diana, doing a bunch a catch up this morning. Happy Birthday to CK, love Ria's skyscratch and I love a sweet baby with a little fat too. Baby fat, gotta love it.
As for the cartoons in the cube~~ bully~ shame on you to be an artist that insults with her sketches. I was a fat child and called every name in the book. I lost it all at 11 years old but those years before could be so sad. No one realizes how mean it is to pick someone apart like that. Now, those same people are so fat they can't fit through a door, while I am thin. I was taught early to look at the heart of a person. I wonder if that cube bully is out staying skinny looking for a new job!
Wishing you a special day.
Hugs and Blessings, CM
Fat babies are prettiest. And since when does anyone have the right to judge? Two rules in my house : Do unto others and Juge not, lest ye be judged. I call Bu!!$hit!
OMG what hideous human being that -employee at Lily P. is - WOW.
We all have different weights and sizes from our bone frame to just how tall. I do not like all the names from skinny mini to being overweight!
All names hurt when used to demean others. Learning to be healthy and comfortable in your own skin! God does look at our hearts.
This is always a hot topic also. But I think it is an honor to have a line of clothes that fit all women!
Being happy and content and healthy and being a kind soul, has to count...
Yours, Roxy
As they say, Beauty is skin deep, but ugly goes clear to the bone.
Always LOVE chewing the fat with you, Sweet D!

I always find it interesting that most plus size models look normal out of the magazine, and regular models look too thin.
its easy to poke fun of people from behind a pen,
I don't understand why some people have to be so mean.....sad face! I found some girls making fun of my blog on a site called ...Snarky...or something like that. I felt so sorry for them and what might have made them be so mean to people....hugs...
I love me some baby fat...just not on me! Ha! I have obsessed with my weight all my life and now I force myself away from the scale and try to accept who I am, as being ok. Thanks for the reminder.
So sad, that in this day and age, people still do this! One day she may walk in those same shoes. I'm with you; I'm sure she was a bully! Very sad!
I've never met a happy bully. Have you?
Great post!
I definitely think she was (and still is) a bully. I certainly hope she's not employed there anymore. Love that pic of Bright Eyes in her tutu!!!
Oh Diana such a meaningful post. I too love people of every size. What does matter to me is the size of their heart, the words that come through their lips and the words that flow through their fingers in what they write,
xoxo,
Vera
WONNNNNNNNDERFUL post!!!!!
Let's start a trend!
Let's all of us, do our own version of this theme!!!
Please! Let's!
It is such a pervasive issue. All over! For all ages. And so easily used, to HURT others. It needs to be spoken out, against!!! It does!!!
Me too. Been all sizes. Am now overweight. Yes I am! And I don't like it! No I don't. But I do not want anyone to 'put me down' because of it. Grrrrrrr....
Trouble is, we don't need others to do that. We do it to ourselves. In this society in which we live. -sigh-
Thank you, my Dear, for this post topic. I will do one too! And I so wish, all of us did. Get some b_ _ls and address the topic!!!
Hugs,
Tessa
I do not pick or judge people by their size. However, I think it is wrong to see someone too large because they cannot control their eating habits. Big difference in health and not pushing yourself away from the table. You tell it so well.
It is so easy to judge people by looks even though it is not right. You don't know the kind of life that they have had or having. It is what they are on the inside that make a person truly beautiful. Some say skinny bodies make people look sick and yes some doctors are quick to prescribe a pill for everything whether it is right or wrong. I have been all different sizes but it is truly how you look at yourself that matters. If you can't say anything nice about a person, it is better to say nothing at all. One of my friends is heavy, but she would give you anything you asked for and she has MS. She just has a big heart. Have a great day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend Shirley
I was always a skinny mini growing up. I weighed less than 100 lbs. when I graduated from high school. All throug my 20s and 30s people said I looked like a walking skeleton. Then I developed thyroid disease. I am now about 80 lbs. overweight. I hate being fat. I don't enjoy being fat. But I have a part of my body that does not work so I am fat. I still enjoy wearing cute clothing. I hope that lady in the cubicle never has to go through the "fat experience". It would probably kill her. How can someone be like that? People are who they are inside, not what they look like outside. I'm glad I have friends of all different sizes. So sad for this lady. She's missing out on so much of life.
I'm FAT LOL
really
I read that article and yes there is lots of designers who think us fat over 50's ladies should
stay at home and out of their skinny ass, hungry sites LOL
I have been thinking ? about loosing some weight LOL
Our society is obsessed with skinny and it killed me to watch my middle school girls starve them to be skinny. Their diets were so unhealthy and then they would show up at volleyball practice after school with no energy because they hadn't eaten all day.
There are so many things one can't do today, that I can't believe they were allowed to post that at work. Terrible. I am so sick of the he/she models, heroin addict looking models, and anorexics? They are doing a lot of damage to society. We also have to keep in mind that the fashion industry is dominated by a certain sort of male that is not attracted to women; I don't have anything against a particular group, except that their standards of beauty are not feminine standards of beauty. Hopefully, we will see change if more women go into this field. xoxo Su
Things are so messed up because the models are size 0, it's sad when a size 12 is considered obese!!!!!!! One of my granddaughters is going to struggle keeping her weight down as she gets older and it worries me as she enters junior high what the others will say.She is a swimmer so she is so muscular--beautiful.
Ann
So sad. Being I am a plus sized person it's painful to realize when you're the target of someone making fun of you. I feel sorry for these people who are so judgemental. They probably feel they're superior but I see them as pathetic.
Those drawings are awful...and how sad someone would focus on the outer appearance of someone. Weight gain can happen for so many reasons, some out of our control. People are too quick to judge and it's so sad. It's the heart and soul and character that we should look at... Have you ever seen the show Drop Dead Diva? The series is now on Netflix. This post made me think of it all the the prejudice against overweight people. :-( Hope you have a good day.
Blessings,
Jill
Cruel...I hope that staff member's cubical is now empty!!!
Blessings,
Cindy
Well that is certainly a horrid way to treat another human being! No wonder our young girls are becoming anorexic - and old girls too! One of my favorite actors is Richard Griffiths who was anything but a small man. We're watching the British series, 'Pie in the Sky' and he was perfect in that - as a detective and a chef. And the mean woman in that cubicle would have hated him. I agree with Cindy. I hope that person has been fired.
Wow. If she had put those up as motivation for herself to make wise food choices would be one thing, but to let them go to internet doesn't sound like that's her reason, does it?
Ha....what goes around...comes around. Someday that person in the cubicle will be fat and then lets hear them chirp loudly. I guess now a days if you don't have that "Barbie" look you are just not part of the "human race" Pretty soon us "fat" people will be taxed because we are taking up too much space. Oops....I better shut up, that may happen. Heaven forbid!!!
Louise
It is so crazy our society with so much obsession to be thin! The models are way to thin too! Great post today & have a nice day!
Wow, is this really 2015??? This story reminds me of that (ex)CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch. Thank God he's been ousted but he was so crass and prejudice. Here's a quote from an article about him:
He made Abercrombie seem like an exclusive club that bestowed its logo on thin, tan, popular teens with lots of cash to spend. The advertising, which featured frolicking, half-naked co-eds, upset many parents — which made the brand even more attractive to their kids.
"A lot of people don’t belong [in our clothes], and they can’t belong," Jeffries famously said in the Salon interview. "Are we exclusionary? Absolutely."
UGH. And no, my kids never have and never will wear Abercrombie clothing. BTW, I LOVE lily Pulitzer clothes! Could never afford them. Maybe now I can. lol
xo Kathleen
Hi Diana,
I think Lily Pulitzer was talking about herself, not liking the Image of what she believed herself to be. In a creative world one can be that hardest on themselves first seeing themselves as fat more then others. I am most certain she is happy to see her legacy still admired and to beautify any lady would make her proud. Coming for two different sides of family, one side more weighty, and then other side slim as can be changed nothing in my eyes I saw everyone in there own beautiful self. And VERA said it well! It's the size of the heart that matters most.
Like all of us heavier, or slimmer if we gain a pound we have to remind ourselves about it and post that one great slim photo on the fridge,
perhaps this was Lily Pulitzer fridge in hanging self images of her own thoughts.
As for chubby babies, they are the cutest, that's why they call it baby fat.
Or what a cute Gerber baby!
Xx
Dore
I stand corrected....A Lilly Pulitzer spokesperson said the illustrations were displayed by a lone member of staff but Twitter users erupted with outrage at cartoons many saw as fat-shaming:
Lily Pulitzer has sizes of clothing up to size 14 and always have.... Larger sizes at Target are only online.
If one were to look at her employes one would find all size employed by her company. And the picture of being fat was of one employee who most likely has self images of her worth.
We have all been there in one way or another and should not reflect the image Lily Pulitzer has branded for herself I would hope.
Yet never being a fan of her bright colorful clothing, I love that designers are making a more affordable line for the public at mass.
It seams like when high fashion designers go public they do a larger size market for real women who don't where runway size (o) zero.
Look what happened to VERA Wang with her line at Khols she went larger as well.
There's always going to be that one person in the bunch that says " You can't sit with us"
Xoxo
Dore
Fat shaming is awful and so is any type of bullying. Some thin celebrities and actresses are picked on for being too thin. Some people are too mean!
OK!!!!!
I did one too!!!!
A post on the topic of FAT stigmatization!!!!
How about all the rest of you, doing the same????
Oh, too late. No one is going to read, after they already commented here.
-sigh-

WOW! Those drawing are horrible. Especially the one that says you might as well kill yourself. But that of course is one persons opinion. At least I hope so. But I am surprised that she was able to keep it hung up.
But I see no humor in it.
Of course the last couple of days I don't see a lot of humor in much. Been a Debbie (sorry to use the name Debbie) Downer. Don't know why. Just am.
Your little grand-daughter is just so cute! She looks like such a happy baby.
WOW! Is it getting dark! I think we lost our sun for the day!
I see the comments are interesting to read too! I always stress that being healthy is more important...but does anyone listen? lol Good subject that we can all rant about! But wait....I'm busy today! I'm reading the book I got in the mail today! Be back later!!! ; ) Sweet hugs, Diane
I don't understand how that person was employed for even one day with those cartoons in her workspace. We teach kids acceptance from day one at school and yet, I really think we are becoming meaner as a society, on the whole. Internet bullying is rampant, there is violence against neighbors over driving altercations and the like in our towns and the school interactions are just the same as they always were. Where is the kindness? I see glimmers of it here and there, and I try to instill the value of kindness in my kids. I hope it's working. I can't control the rest of the world, but I do believe that what goes around comes around and that cubicle cartoonist will get theirs, after all karma's a....well, you know. ;)
Wow! What a great post. I also think Lily probably had those awful cartoons up to motivate herself to stay thin rather than to bash the fat. However, bash they do. I'm definitely fat. It is my worst enemy and the subject of all my self improvement programs and the reason for a lot of my health issues. I know exactly what to do but... I don't. And I don't know why and don't want to go there with any self help or psychologist. It's just something I always hope will eventually sort itself out and Voila! I'll come to the light. lol.
Great post. Bashing and bullying fat people is still very much allowed. It's definitely encouraged, I think. Make us feel bad about ourselves enough and we'll do something about it, is the current mind set. Deprive us of delicious treats and lunch like Michelle Obama thinks and all the fat kids will grow up skinny. Make Oreos illegal. I'm here to say... it won't be that easy. In a world gone mad with beautiful and Hollywood's opinions... it won't be easy. Love ya! Glad I ate skinny for lunch! ahaha..
we are such a judgmental society, it's so sad. and we wonder why are kids are the way they are....look at the training they are getting from adults. people who should know better. where did you live in florida? I grew up in west palm beach...over the tracks from palm beach, where the fat girls live. :)
How sad that someone would hang such a thing in their office. I'll be honest... my weight is not where I want it to be, and even this morning as I dressed, I thought that ugly 3 letter word to myself. However... like so many have said on here... many struggle not just with overeating, but certain drugs, diseases even can cause people to be over or underweight. We must always remember not to judge a book by its cover, and look instead for the gems and jewels in their heart. Thank you Diana for bringing to light a terrible shameful thing for someone to do, but also to highlight the fact that it really is what is in the heart that counts. PS: Your beautiful little grandbaby is just a doll!
What is it that makes people think it is okay to bash people over their weight. That completely disgusts me. Weight has nothing to do with a person's value. I hope that person who posted those was fired. xo Laura
Diana, I've always been pretty tall, so if I gained a few pounds, it wasn't real noticeable. But I've always felt bad for overweight people because it's hard to lose weight, and there are various reasons why one is heavier than the normal. So, I think we shouldn't assume what we don't know, and I think this is a good post for awareness on the this topic. (and FAT is such an awful word to begin with, don't you think?)
love, ~Sheri
Oh! That staff member should have been fired! Maybe then she/he would have felt depressed and made themselves happy with coffee ice cream and gained a few pounds and got older and hurt themselves and couldn't exercise it all off. Maybe then, they would have some compassion and understanding. I don't particulary like Lily Pulitzer fashions - all those wild and crazy patterns and colors....and the shapelessness of the clothes. The only people who can wear them are half starved models who are 6 ft. tall. I am waiting for the fashion world to realize how ridiculous it all is.....Until then, I will enjoy my coffee ice cream. Besides, look how adorable a little chub really is - that has to be the most adorable baby girl on the planet! xo Karen
I can't stand how cute she is!!! I just want to pinch those baby cheeks!!
Thank you Diana for this great post. Shame on those bullies. I always feel so sorry for the people that have weight problems. I was always so thin when I was younger. Could hardly keep a straight skirt on as I had no hips. Well after my first child it became very hard to loose weight, but I have been on every diet in the world that came along. It's not easy and a lot of it has to do with your gene's. I have found a new life style for my self and I stay on it. To that terrible person, shame on her. You know what goes around, comes back around. I hope she was fired from her job.
Again, thanks for this post, maybe it will help someone.
Hugs dear friend.
Mary
Recently I saw a post of FB about the plus-size model. Some people were saying why not but so many were saying things like she can't be healthy blah, blah, blah. I told them they were assuming she had health issues. The thing is heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other diseases effect people of all shapes and sizes. I feel like fat people are the last group that it is politically correct to mock and shame. A bully is a bully at any age.
Your plus-size model is simply gorgeous and I wish there to squish her to death!!! Lol !
We are expecting a new baby grandgirl Nov. 13-16 from our DD Alex. We are overjoyed with excitement.
Alexandra is 33 and her husband is divorced with three grown kids. Therefore, she's so happy to be having a girl to be close to her always.
They are planning to have just this child.
Blessings darling.
FABBY
People need to just mind their own business....seriously....we are our own worst enemies! Ridiculous! Thanks for bringing this to light....glad we know better! Happy end to your week my friend! That sweet baby up there puts it all in perspective! Nicole xo
People are so insensitive these days it seems. They don't hesitate to jump in where it is not their business. To put someone down who is overweight is just plain mean. I'm sure that person could use a lift-me-up instead of a put-me-down.
That baby is so precious!!
Judy
I am a FULL FIGURED woman...aka: FAT! That is all I have to say.
deb :)
AMEN and AMEN.
well said.
can't wait for the bully girl to have a total hysterectomy and hit the mid century mark and watch her skinny little 'carb face' get puffy.
what goes around comes around. she will have her day.
and "my own little book' i told you about in the email... it's about seeing yourself as beautiful regardless of your size. talk about synchronicity! LOLOL!
Been there and back...My Father used to say.."every ounce a thrill".. I just don't worry too much about it anymore..great post..
Very powerful message...I try not to worry about my weight, but I do. No longer the thin girl of my youth.
Sweet Diana, I love your post and all of it is so true unfortunately. I love people for who they are on the inside. I love blogging for the fact that you get to know others on the inside not on the outside, and everyone I have meet has been so charming and friendly. Have a wonderful evening. Jo
It is a very powerful message, we as a human race can be very cruel. I am worried about my weight and I don't like how I look right now. Sometimes people can be quite cruel with just their eyes...when they look you up and down, with that look, you know which look I mean. I do agree sweet cheeks is adorable and I'm still thinking of coming for her!
Preach it, girl! Wow, I was shocked by what one of the employees drew and wrote....how could someone be so hardhearted and utterly cold towards others??? I so appreciate you and your honesty, my friend. No matter what anyone's size it they are beautiful just the way they are. Love and hugs to you!
It's sad how some people can be so cruel. But, haters will hate. People who are plus sizes are told they need to be thinner, and those of us who are thin are thin are told we need to gain some weight and muscle mass! Oooh, the world would be a better place in many ways if people would just mind their own business.
Your grandchild is so adorable!
Tough subject, agree! Could write a book here, I won't! Blessings, Cindy
I hope that hateful employee grows a big wart on the end of her nose that can't be removed and her butt gets bigger than Kim Kardashian's. Where do these people get off thinking they're better than someone else? Ok, I'll try to simmer down. I have a book that's waiting for me to read. Can't wait!
What a great post, Diana. She was a bully in school. Guarantee it.
Missed you so much~
<3 Rebecca
I have been at both ends of the spectrum. When I was young I was very thin. When I married at 23 I weighed 99 lbs and looked skeletal. Then I did gain some weight as I aged but in my late 40's as my metabolism slowed, I gained. Then almost 2 years ago I was diagnosed with an eating turns out my health problems disorder than they had not had a name for it for very many years. It is called ARFID. Avoidant restrictive food intake disorder. My mom said I was a very picky eater all my life, even as a child. I sometimes would go for a couple days without eating. I was anemic a lot. Now it is what has caused health problems. Because I was starving my body for so many years, it started holding on to everything bad. I am still fighting to learn to eat. It has caused me to have my body produce too much insulin and have an unusual type of diabetes. It cannot be controlled by insulin as that would kill me. So I am now what many term fat because my body has problems. I am trying. I hope to get control.
My sister-in-law had a rare condition called Cushings and it caused her to be fat without eating a lot. My mother was the one who diagnosed her and sure enough, when the doctors did the test, she was right. It also caused her to develop tumors in her brain 3 times. Once diagnosed and treated by the proper person, she was put on medication and shrank like crazy. She is beautiful now in her 50's. It can be in your body from birth. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/cushing-syndrome/basics/symptoms/con-20032115
Hers did not make her gain weight until she was in her 30's.
No one should ever be judged by their outer look but by their hearts.
Wow wait until Miss Cubicle hits 50 She will be cringing at her young self and her judgmental ways. I couldn't think of a rose name so I went to the post before lol! I had plenty of thoughts about this one!
Carol
Well, I weigh more than I did when I was young. I weigh more now than I ever have...I'm not overweight but that butt that used to be tight and high is low and flabby...my boobs are not perky any more...my tummy is not flat as it was before children...my underarms have that loose, flabby skin we used to call "chicken fat"...I am nearing 78 yrs old......but, I'm still the same person thru it all.
I hope I have NEVER judged any one for any reason. We aren't supposed to judge ANYthing....that is God's job.
This was an excellent post and one that cut right to the bone of what is wrong in society. It's always been there but it is more pronounced now with social media (hate that phrase) to egg it on. Cowards can reach out and attack someone with impunity and hide behind an electronic facade while doing it.
This is just sad and sick and these people are bullies! It happened at Lulemon and they said fat people should not wear their yoga pants. Really? So fat people do not deserve to be healthy?! Sick world and how you can sit high and mighty in a job I will never know! Ugh! Anyway back to Lulemon. Kate Hudson the actress was appalled that this happened and started her own lien of yoga clothing. Her clothing line for fitness goes to size 18-20 which beats the pants off Lulemon! While I am up on my soapbox let me say this, Julia Louis Dreyfus is another one! UGO if you want to mean and hateful and rude. Great to teach your kids to go green but hate fatties! UGH! I can not stand to look at her anymore. Not to mention we all know your daddy is on the Forbes list of the rich and wealthy and you were born with a silver spoon in your potty mouth! I am dumbfounded at doctors offices when they call a size twelve obese! Get a grip. Not everyone is rail thin and I think our society is sickening! God created all and I know He loves all too. I will boycott any of these bullies anytime and any day! My oldest daughter struggles with her weight and she went to a gym and found the nicest person to help her fit started on her fitness journey. I better never catch anyone talking badly about my girl or they will deal with this momma and I have been known to Bruce Lee a round house kick in your face if you mess my kids! I wonder how many of you saw the four women who went into for a makeover and let them photo shop them as well. One of the gals said it best, you take away everything that was you and there is nothing left. Since I have been a meanie here in my rant let me end with words I told my three girls when they were growing up:
1 Samuel 16:7New American Standard Bible (NASB)
7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for [a]God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”
I am only 5 feet 2 and 1/2 inches tall all my life I have fought weight, now I am 67 and to tell the truth other than my type 2 diabetes which I manage as best I can which is well due to a persistant & helpful hubby and only child daughter..I think fat shaming and all that goes with it is just horrible..My own mother was short and stout it made her loveable to everyone, she did not care for the way americans treated plump women and men and children, she never got over it, she looked for the beauty of each human being in their hearts and minds and souls..I think to make fun of anyone is just plain badass rude and crude..My mom died young and buried in a fat dress that was all we had at the time, I was very young, I wanted to crawl into the casket to be with her, it was devastating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My only child is slim and tiny and tall like her dad, she fuses over clothes but always loved me a lot for whatever I was to her HER MOTHER..She is a pistol and thinks fat shaming absolutely horrible and she works in the film industry which has all these bs about being thin...She thinks they are truly nuts! Your baby doll grandchild is absolutely adorable and I mean adorable you can the angel in her smile and her personality who the hell cares that she is truly a babydoll with the skin and chubs to have it, I say she is an angel on this earth..I still have the photos of my only child as a baby the only time she had any meat on her body and she was dadblasted cute people would stop me to try to smooch her I would not let them do that..She tottled around and everyone just adored her, the meat on her body made her an absolute angel on this earth..What does the size of a person have to do with their heart and soul??? Nothing but it states a lot about what they are really like, when people say cruel things to me about my weight and my shortness I ignore them and continue my conversation about happy things..We are not on the terrestrial very long why be a bore and rude and crude to others, life is hard enough for everyone! I hope you get to see your grandbaby doll a lot, I would just love to still have my only that age and hold her and kiss and smooch her, she was so happy and still is a happy gal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great post. I hope Lily's employee knows we're laughing at her right back. I do love the clothes and designs of Lily Pulitzer. I was delighted to see Target sell them but I understand the resellers went in and bought the stores out on the release day. I guess they have the right but it seems pretty wrong. I didn't even get to look at them.
I'm glad you tackled this topic. It seems to be an area where it is still okay to bully and abuse someone who doesn't fit the norm, with no regard to their feelings. Well said!
