A Quick Update On Me and Something To TICKLE You!

I am pretty private when it comes to
personal things.
I don't like to complain or even admit to myself
that life can throw me a curve sometimes.
I love this saying by Elizabeth Edwards.
I have a hard time adjusting my sails sometimes.
I don't like to think I am unable to do something
I have always done..
That being said,
I didn't want to leave you all hanging
or thinking that things are worse than they are.

A few of you know that I was on an old
heavy duty anti-inflammatory for three years.
It is something I should have been on for about
2 months- but it worked when nothing else did.

Long story short
(as my dear daughter-in-law says and then
tells you the long version anyway-Lordy,
I love that girl!;>)

Anyway-I weaned off it over a period of
about 3 months.
That is good.
The bad part is that it absolutely
tore my stomach up.
Think somach on fire
with nails scratching across it.
Yeah- That would be it!

Anyway,
I am on some meds that should work
in a few more days.
When I can concentrate on what I am doing
I will be back.
Bear with me.
Ya can't keep an old broad like me down long.

ps.  I DID make it to Walmart
for a few minutes.
Yes.I.Did.
This is NOT the Walmart pharmacist that
dispensed my meds....but wouldn't he
tickle you?
Back soon.
Thanks for all your well wishes.

I always miss the most important posts. I am so sorry. Having a stomach hurting is not fun. I take two Nexium a day. I hope you feel much better soon. Darn pills can do harm. You know what I went through recently. I hope you are trying to behave and taking care of you. Hugs and prayers.

I love that quote. It's one of my favorites. Hon, I wish I could have told you what they would do. I can't take aspirin or anti-inflammatories either. Tears your gut up. Take care of yourself.

Diana,
I have the Elizabeth Edwards quote on a wooden chalkboard that I purchased off an etsy seller. I for the past year have lived the realization of that quote, oh how I indenify with those words. I have been thinking about you and knew something was not right, but I didn't know it was a continuing problem. I wish you a speedy recovery and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for you to feel better soon my friend. OH MY GOODNESS!! What a mustache on that guy. LOL

I battle stomach ulcers and you have my deepest sympathy. When it's bad, the only thing I can eat is baked salmon and potato. I'm very good at whipping up that meal! There is something in the lining between the skin and meat of the potato that heals ulcers. I've forgotten what it is, but it works. No idea why the salmon will stay down but it does. I'll be thinking of you.

Gotta love that mustache. We must be on the same wavelength. I wrote yesterday about how the medication I am on is taking away my short term memory and leaving me foggy. Unfortunately it is a necessary evil. I remember those days when I didn't have to take anything stronger than a tylenol. Ahhhh, youth. I am so sorry that you are going through this and I hope that you start feeling better very quickly. Know that I am thinking about you. xo Laura

Diana, I was on some arthritis med for about that same length of time. Yes, I now have stomach problems....plus why did my dr. give them to me when she knew I was on those blood thinners at that time. Now I take a med for my stomach and cholesterol. Nothing else. Yes, my arthritis hurts like the dickens...but I will take a couple tylonals when I can't walk. I am going to be praying for you to be better soon and be brand new. Love you, Susie

Diana I hope you feel better real soon. Medications can be life savers but they can also make us sick when we have to readjust our sails.

Hi Diana, So glad you will be on the mend. I had this happen to me from an antibiotic I was allergic too. Not fun at all. So hope the new meds will help you and you feel better soon. Take care and just rest up.
I emailed you not knowing you posted this. I did not get your follow by email yet. They are always so late!!
Big Hugs and Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh I hope you get to feeling better! I totally understand the change in medication, I too have been adjusting to some changes lately. They tell me it takes 6-8 weeks for a new medication to get in your system and level off. In the meantime, my body is going crazy (really, that is what it feels like! sometimes!). Please keep is "in the know" and hope you are better soon!

Good Morning Diana, I do hope that your new medication starts working fast and that it does the trick and cures your stomach problems. As for the pharmacist, he would look better is one of those little flat straw hats from the 1920's and a bow tie, or a top hall and a outfit from Dickens. Maybe he has a part in a Christmas community play. The near by town has a group of choir students (all high school seniors) that dress up in Dickens style each year and sing carols for special events during the holidays. He would fit in perfectly. I wonder if he sings?
Happy Thanksgiving.

I'm so sorry to hear that you've been under the weather. That sounds awful! Were you on steroids? I've taken Prednisone many times in the past for my inflammatory bowel disease that sometimes flares up. It's about the only thing that gets it to stop. I've taken it for short durations of time though since it can be so dangerous. Now I know why!

wishing you a speedy healing... a natural probiotic woulld work wonders for you.. antbiotics kills all the friendly flora in the stomach lining and intestinal tract- hense the burning like fire you spoke of... asidolpholis - 8 billion miligrams 3 times a day. it does NOT interfere with medications bt the doc's also dont make a kick back off of it so its rare;y mentioned.
