SweetCheeks CHUBBY CHUCKLES

Several of you have
told me how much
you missed our
SweetCheeks.
Well, here is an
actual conversation
word-for-word
as I remember it.

Her Mama has had
several conversations
with her
about not saying someone
is fat.
To SweetCheeks
FAT IS GOOD!
She had a FAT BABY
that she loved.
SweetCheeks
 will pinch your
cheeks and tell you that
she LOVES your
fat face.
Those on the
RECEIVING END
of being called FAT
are not always so
happy to be called
fat.
So...
SweetCheeks is learning.
She looked at her new
little cousin, CJK.
SweetCheeks:  Ummm...Nana~
Nana:  Yes, honey?
SweetCheeks:  Ummmmm...
Baby CJK is a really....ummmm..
CHHHUBBBBY baby.
Nana:  Yes, he is.  I'm a little
chubby myself.
SweetCheeks (looking me
up and down)...Ummm...
Noh-Youh're jussst fat.
Onhly babies cahn be
chubby!
Nana:  Thanks, SweetCheeks.(sarcastically)
SweetCheeks (very seriously):
Youh're welcuhm.

ps.  I am renting her out
as a dieting aid....
any takers?
Anyone?
anyone?

ps..Don't forget to set your
clock back so you can be
fat an hour earlier
tomorrow morning....

Kids just have a way with words sometimes dont they? Once while I was working I went to a clients house and knocked on their door, several times.. (people try to avoid us..) anyways, a kid peeks out from behind a curtain and yells "mom that lady with the white hair is here!" I got a giggle out of that.. then a week or so later I as at another house and it was a double house with a split porch. there were some kids playing on the porch on the other side, one of them obviously lived there because as I was knocking I heard one of them say.. "whose that fat lady at your house?!" eiy yieyie! at least sweet cheeks means it in the most innocent of ways! lol
have a great day

Sweet Cheeks is so cute and she speaks only the truth which is refreshing. :-)

Karen said...

This is too cute. They don't keep their opinions to themselves. do they!!

Little Miss Maggie said...

Tell Sweet Cheeks you are not fat, you are pleasingly plumb which just makes more of you to love.

That's just too funny, Diana! Sounds like SC would make an excellent dieting aide. Makes me think of when we were in Greece several years ago. A Greek woman patted my hips (that looked even larger in the sundress I was wearing!) and gave me the thumbs up!!! I guess over there being fat is a good thing!
Oh, and you forgot to mention that we can use that extra hour to EAT!!

Anne said...

I agree with Maggie :-) !
I remember when I was little watching my Mother apply her eye makeup. It was in the 1970's and eyeliner was worn a bit different. As she was applying it I said "Mom you look like a witch". I was not saying it to be hurtful or mean. But the way her eyes looked with the makeup reminded me of a scary witch. Now I look back and think what was I thinking why did I say that!

Kids are just brutally honest! I might use her soon if I can't get this gain under control! How much?

Susan said...

Diana send Sweet Cheeks my way, I need some brutal honesty about now. LOL

I was just reading a book last night and the little girl in that book said she saw a portly man walking on the ship. In thinking about it, I think I would rather be called portly than fat.

Sarah said...

Hummmm........chubby~fat~portly.........all could describe the way I'm feeling after all the candy corn.

Nothing so enlightening as a child's innocent honesty!

It's so wonderful to see you!! Your stopping by ALWAYS MAKES MY DAY! Your family is so beautiful and yes, we have missed Sweet Cheeks!

lol, if only you could record her telling you you're fat and have it play whenever you open the refrigerator door.

Lucille said...

She loves their fat faces? This is so precious! Please don't hate me when I say that I have to always try to eat enough at every meal just to maintain my weight. Anytime I don't feel well and I stop eating, I melt. I guess it all depends on the genes we inherited. As I get older, I'm not as hungry so it's pretty hard.

Yes, I miss Sweet Cheeks.

Get that book going Diane.

You got the great title Sweet Cheeks and the busy girl.

It would be a seller.

It would be a book that one would keep turning the pages to see what more did she get into or what did she say about Farmer John down the road.

Sweets Cheeks reminds me of the Family Circle kids. Minds going every second.

Go for it Diana. Before she gets to old to stand still for you to take pictures. Soon she will be out the door with all kinds of good looking boys and girlfriends.

She will be a Social Butter fly. Better be quick Di.

My Missy I call mine for short Grandchild Girly was like your Sweet Cheeks. As she got older. She was organizing things to do for all her friends each week-end. A real organizer. Skiing. swimming, bowling. You name it. Still does.

Time flies.

Ha! I'd rather be chubby than fat, if I had the choice! How about curvy? Oh, that's my adult mind thinking!

That is cute Diana!
So glad to see a post from you again too!
Addison already points to moles etc. on folks and asks them about their owwees! She is only 2 but I can see how it could get embarrassing later.
Hugs friend,
Cindy

Kim @ Savvy Southern Style said...

No, you can keep her. I don't need any help. Tell her some fat is good.

Something Nice and Pretty said...

She is a riot, like Samantha! What goes in her brain comes out her mouth!

Red Rose Alley said...

Oh Diana, she is truly a gifted child. She tells things just as she sees them. How special is that? I have to tell you that I was very blunt when I was young too. I just took it as speaking the truth, but it got me in trouble, more than once haha.

No Thank you, I've got a couple of very honest grandkids already, who don't mind telling mimi that she's a bit fluffy.
Oh, and one of them wants mimi to get a new puppy, so she can spoil it...

Sweet Cheeks is a mess! I need her, how much? Out of the mouth of babes! I had a Kindergarten student ask me if I was pregnant and pat my tummy many years ago! I told her, "no, fat"! I was 5'7" and weighed 125 back then! Kids say the darnedest things!

I'll trade you one pre adolescent for a bonifide teenager. When I commented that my oldest daughter was looking extremely thin, last night, my youngest looked at me and said in the sarcastic voice she has perfected, "J E A L O U S." What the heck. I'm all in.

I love the way kids just tell it as it is! I could definitely use some straight talking from SweetCheeks to keep me on the diet.
