A Door County Home

Well,
I think you all know that
I have moved about a
million times.
I might have exaggerated
that by 996,986 but
who's counting?

The last place we lived
before moving to this house
was Door County, WI.
It is called the
"Maine of the Midwest".

When I got the latest
(thank you to the childrens'
Magazine school fund raiser)
the cover was lovely.
Someone,
 who shall remain nameless,
 spilled coffee on
the cover before I could even
open the first page.

But, I was drawn into the
wonderful Door County home
featured inside-
coffee stains and all.

Here is the side facing
the bay of Green Bay.
This is about 45 miles
North of us on the
same body of water.
A wonderful cottage outside
but look inside.
I love this porch and
the pops of hot pink
offsetting the
summery blues.
A quick peek into a bedroom...
And where do the kids play and sleep?
Is that a happy room, or what?

And...this
Vintage Teacart
 is probably my favorite.
Hmmm...teacart...
Maybe she will invite me
up for tea!
Now, wouldn't THAT be something?
pssst...I'll bring my own cookies~

We are off for a couple of days-
well, actually I am a little "off"
most of the time.
So, I will be playing catch up
late at night-or early morning-
(if I can get online at all)
 so don't feel
bad if I don't respond right away.
I'll be around!

  1. What a lovely home, Diana. I think I saw this magazine when I was looking for some new ones the other day at the store. Those stairs look like they would be my exercise for the day. I'll bet the view is stunning.

  4. Enjoy life to it's fullest, and we'll see you when you return.
Love the pics, but this black dust mop beside me would not go well with that white.

  5. I have wanted to visit Door County since it was featured in Country Living back in the late 80s! Those pictures just confirm it...I need to go.

  6. That looks like a good magazine~argh about spillage. grrr...love that house by the bay, besides all the steps...but it is decorated so cute! Love the old wicker stuff too, that teacart is precious...I bought an old wicker vanity for shop, yet to redo it. Just needs a freshening up with paint.

  17. Dear Diana,

Porches overlooking water are great! And the Tea Cart - Wow! Love it!

We're all just a wee bit off my friend! That's why we can laugh at each other and ourselves!

Have a great time! Play with those children, as summers go by way too fast - we understand if you don't get back for a few days!

    Hugs,
    Donna

  19. That is certainly a beautiful home. I've never seen that magazine. We have Southern Living. I never thought about it before, but now I wonder if the title is changed depending on its distribution area.
