A Quck Update on MyHero- One More Day Of Treatment Left!

Hi Everyone~

This is short and sweet (or not so sweet).
I copied and pasted it from

THIS is the SWEET!
This is the
NOT SO SWEET!

John has had a really rough week.  He is sick and sore.

The nausea medicine does not always work so he has had several days when he has been nauseated.

Try to imagine vomiting when you can't swallow because your throat is so swollen and sore.

He is tired and sleeping quite a bit of the time.

That is good because it is an escape from the reality of what he is going through.

The skin on his neck is burned and sloughing off.  There is a prescription salve that he puts on that helps keep the pain at bay.

The salve, combined with the fentanyl patch keeps his pain at a tolerable level.

We do have liquid morphine that I can administer for break-through pain if needed.

This upcoming Monday will be his last radiation treatment.   We will no longer have to make daily trips to the cancer center.

After Monday, we will go once a week to check -in for the next several weeks.

We found out this week that he may be on a feeding tube for several months because of the severity of the damage to his throat.

That means that Nurse Ratched (me)gets to stay 'on duty' for a while.  I am a good "pusher" (mentally AND physically).

Even as ill as he is-- he continues to reach out to others.  Yesterday, against my better judgement, he went to 'visit' someone.

He felt the need to minister to his friend and to encourage him in the battle he is facing.

He came home exhausted but also elated because he felt like he had accomplished something with the visit.

We are taking this one step at a time and looking forward to starting the healing process after next Monday's treatment.

We will not know until the first part of June whether the treatment worked.

At that point they will do a PET scan to see if there is still cancer in his neck--or if there is cancer anywhere else in his body.

Keep us in your prayers.  We need them.

See that cute little face up there?  That is our youngest granddaughter, Anna Ireland.

She is one reason MyHero keeps fighting to get well.  She is a pure delight.

As for me- I would run away from home but that feeding tube only extends about 2-1/2 feet. Yeah-there's that!   Diana

Dearest Diana, your husband is quite the trooper! To go out and visit a friend when he is not feeling well is truly an inspirational testimony!

Both of you have been in my prayers during this entire journey and that is where you will remain, precious friend. Sending you love and hugs!

Continue to keep John in our prayers. Katie mentioned he would need the tube for awhile after as swallowing will take awhile to come back, and be comfortable. I know his ministering to a friend in need had to be a bright spot in the week for him despite the strength it took out of him. God will return the favor!!
Anna Ireland is a gem for sure.

Keep your chin up and your faith strong. My dear friend Robin's husband went through exactly the same cancer and radiation and suffered through painful burns too. Today he is well and strong and is playing tennis and traveling. Miracles happen every day when we turn our problems over to God. I'm sure you know that, but if you are anything like me, it's good to be reminded. I am praying for you both. Your darling grand baby is a great reason for him to keep fighting.

My prayers are with you and your Hubby. Has he ever tired to eat ginger candy or ginger tea for the nausea? That has helped some people with nausea. I would first ask a Nurse or Doctor since he might be on a tube.

I love that little girl, so cute and what an appropriate name she has. Anna Ireland, it just rolls off the tongue..Take care and don't yank too hard on the feeding line..xxo Judy

Hi Diana! Lifting John and you also up to the Lord. Such a long process. John must be an extremely strong man to undergo such a brutal treatment and still want to go and minister to his friend. What an admirable Christian he is. Let us keep on hoping and praying that all will turn out as we hope in the end. I don't know if you have noticed the e-mail I sent you on cancer breakthroughs they are working on. They are very interesting and very promising and perhaps in the not far future, they might be available to cancer patients. Let us hope so because what John is going through now has to be the most difficult means of healing this horrible illness. Thinking of you. Take care of yourself! My heart goes out to you.

I have been suffering from (HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS) disease for the past four years and had constant pain, especially in my knees. During the first year,I had faith in God that i would be healed someday. This disease started circulating all over my body and i have been taking treatment from my doctor, few weeks ago i came on search on the internet if i could get any information concerning the prevention of this disease, on my search i saw a testimony of someone who has been healed from (Hepatitis B and Cancer) by this Man Dr JOSH and she also gave the email address of this man and advise we should contact him for any sickness that he would be of help, so i wrote to Dr. JOSH telling him about my (HERPES Virus) he told me not to worry that i was going to be cured!! hmm i never believed it,, well after all the procedures and remedy given to me by this man few weeks later i started experiencing changes all over me as the Dr assured me that i have cured, after some time i went to my doctor to confirmed if i have be finally healed behold it was TRUE, So friends my advise is if you have such sickness or any other at all you can email Dr JOSH drjoshhealingtemple@gmail.com or call him on +2349033455855
