Angels Are Everywhere-Even Where I Sit

You know,
I thought I did a post about
this before but I am
darned if I can find it
and somehow it quick posted
for a few minutes the other day..
duhhhh.....
Just call me blond...
or Diana- or-whatever suits your fancy.

If  you read this before I apologize...
Ummmm...sorry!!!!

Here's the fabric-
Here's the original bench-
Purty, huh????
First I removed the seat
and recovered it with the above fabric.

Next I applied an applique from
Home Depot
to the back using wood glue.
This is not the exact applique but it is close.
After applying that I painted
the whole thing semi-gloss black.
After it was dry I used some
metallic buffer to highlight
the raised designs and the top of
the back.
Notice how the design looks like
Angel Wings?
I wonder if I sit on it I would
get MORE ANGELIC than
I already am!.....
Ummm....THAT was a joke.....
(trust me)
Someone told me last night
that I wasn't really a devil
because I had a halo sitting on
my horns.
I never heard that before...
did you?
Have a great Thursday!

So neat that you reworked that into such a lovely and useful little bench. Horns with a halo on them, hummmm.

That was a sweet idea to put the applique on the back and it does look like wings...your guardian angel chair! Nice work! xo wendy

What a beautiful redo, Diana! I love that gorgeous cherub fabric. Maybe you could use it as a time out chair for your Hero?!

Good Afternoon Diana, I love the addition of the "halo wings". Cherubs are a favourite of mine, so I adore your fabric. The stool looks lovely.

Oh c'mon, Diana, you know it would be nearly impossible for you to become *more* angelic than you already are! (oh wait. That little granddaughter got those fun and quirky genes from somewhere.) :-)

So glad you got the water leak taken care of! I missed ya!
The bench was purty ugly till ya worked some magic on it. The last touch of the metallic color on the vintage scroll made it just pop!!
Angel decor and such is so sweet it just adds a soft touch.
Blessings, Roxy

Gotta love that bench with the great fabric-very nice.
Gee, I only saw the horns so I must have missed the halo.
LOL

Love it!

I've used that expression many, many times. I tell my nieces their halo is held up by their horns all the time! LOL!!!

Tete said...

They are what holds your halo on...goofy girl. Love the bench. If you get tired of it, send it my way. Being a really good girl, I could use a throne. LOL

Seeing this sweet makeover reminds me that I have a sewing table chair that I've set aside. I plan on copying the chair you did for one of your granddaughters and pass it off as my own idea. Kidding! I'll copy it and give you credit for the genius.

I've never read it before, so it must be new ('cause I have read everything you have ever written in your entire life!). You did a great job on the transformation. The fabric is beautiful. Just don't squash the angels when you sit down.

LOVE IT. Is this not an old piano bench? I see these often and think about grabbing one but not at the prices I have seen. I'll wait for yard sale time. I love this fabric you chose.

Ahem.. now, after the dog, truck caption post... hehehe... maybe just a minute or two in your lovely chair would be good. :)
