Dining Room Hutch & Buffet Christmasfied

For some reason my
post did not show up
this morning so I am
trying again- bear with me.

I think I showed you
the silver that my son
polished up for the
Holidays.
That, of course, is a big
part of Christmas
at our house.
Did you notice what I added here?
Two little Mark Roberts Fairies
hang from the lamps.
He has another friend
hanging around.
If I WERE going to
collect anything
it would probably be
Mark Roberts Fairies.

A few more bits and pieces.
I have built in hutches
on each side of the
fireplace.
Want to see it a bit closer?
It's full of Spode Christmas Tree china.
Grammas Hazel & Betty
gave us a place setting every year
until we had 12 place settings.
I added to it and have 16+.
A bit of bling dresses the shelves.
A mercury ball sits atop a son's
silver christening cup.
I have some vintage figurines
that take their place amongst
the Christmas china every year.
This tree is from Grandmother Clara.
It was made in Germany
and is musical.
Grandmother Clara & Gramma Hazel
were Sworn Enemies
so I smile everytime I see their
things all mixed together.
Apart in life-together in Death,
proving that God has a sense of humor!
This is a little tree produced by
Spode that nestles in amongst
the china.
Later this week, if you promise
not to tick off the fairies,
I will show you the
Dining Room Table
dressed for the next
get-together.
And...SOMEONE
has his eye on you!!!
Shhhhhhhh.....He's watching.......

ps.  PLEASE come back tomorrow
cuz I have a very special
favor that I will be asking for.

Everything is so pretty. It really made me laugh the two feuding grandmothers' things being placed side by side. If only life were that simple.

Lovely, Diana! I love your Spode Christmas dishes, all the pieces and the glasses, too. I have a similar set but I don't remember if it is Spode or not. Love your fairies. I got two of the Mark Roberts fairies for Christmas last year {of course, I bought them myself, wrapped them, and wrote the tag out for hubby}.

Everything is so tastefully put together, Diana. Your hutches are like the hutches I've always wanted and so filled with beautiful things gathered over the years which makes them that more precious. Your chandelier is so grand! It contributes that extra touch of glamour to a room that seems perfect.

Love it all. Classy old lady, aren't you? LOL- Looking like you could have royalty in there, but, OH!, wait...you do serve princesses and princes in there, don't you? That elf is a bad elf...I see glitter. Donna must have sent him over.
Was wondering what happened to you this morning. Was hoping you got to sleep in a little. Hope you are getting some rest after the last week you have put in. I can't wait to see the table. Do you have it set with the family china? I love that you have collected it over so many years from those you loved best. Makes it super special that way. Hugs.

Nothing says Christmas quite like a hutch (or two) filled with Spode china! Putting out extra decorations during the holidays is SO much fun!!

Everything looks so pretty and elegant. I went more homespun/outdoorsy this year...but I still twinge when I see the bling. Your cabinets look beautiful with just the right amount of Christmas touches. You made me laugh about your grandmothers...sometimes I think the same thing about our mothers. They didn't hate each other, but they weren't best friends either!
