It was a SAD

SAD DAY

in Nana Land.

I was outside on the patio 
after a heavy rain 

and look what I found
sitting on the patio table.

One lonely 

SNOW WHITE SHOE

that doesn't fit our little 

SWEET CHEEKS 

anymore.

Can you see that the shoe had
been hot glued together more than once?

It matched the sweet little
SNOW WHITE DRESS
that SweetCheeks used to wear.
That was 
HER UNIFORM
when she was at our house.

WHERE OH WHERE
did that little girl go?

Oh- THERE she is!
She went to school and has 
A WHOLE NEW UNIFORM NOW!

Oh My!

Thank Goodness I have another little
Princess In The Making 
coming along.

I think I might buy our little
Bright Eyes  
A WHOLE NEW SET OF
PRINCESS SHOES!

I am off for the day

and taking just a 

SHORT BREAK

because I am having a 

minor procedure done.

No need to worry but I might not be able

to post for a couple of days.

Sorry it is night when I am taking these
pictures and the lighting is horrible.

She makes the moons into banners.
I had to find the perfect place for MINE.
A place where I would see them often
and it wouldn't get lost in the  mix
of Fall decorations.

Gramma Hazel's gateleg table acts as a
SOFA TABLE
as you leave our foyer and head into the
family room.

It's the PERFECT spot for them!
 I love it and it makes me smile
every time I walk past it.

And...
on the OTHER END of the spectrum..
I love the SUN, too!

Nancy @ Wild Oak Designs
was talking about Jerusalem Artichokes
which produce plants/flowers.
They are also called
SUNCHOKES!
She sent me a whole package of them 

I am going to try to grow them in Wisconsin.
I'll let you know how THAT goes!
She EATS the tubers, too.
Me?  Nope- Not gonna do it!
I will grow it..but, honey, I'm NOT gonna eat it!

A couple of you don't care whether you get a reply.

A couple of you DO NOT want a reply 

because it CLOGS your INBOX.

That's okay with me- to each their own.

I, personally, plan on replying to every comment

(unless you said you don't want a reply)

Do you KNOW you are a NO REPLY when

you leave a comment?

Some of you that are NO REPLY people have

chosen to be that way.

I get that -life is busy and if you don't want 

e-mails inundating your mailbox- I understand that.

SOME OF YOU were/are No Reply bloggers 

and don't know it.

I take it as a mission to let you know that-

when I can.

Do you ever go back to a blog to read a reply?

Overwhelming NO.

Just a couple of you do that.

A couple of you go back to a blog if there is an ongoing discussion there.

Do YOU reply to comments ON YOUR BLOG?

The majority do NOT like it when people do that.

Some of you were 

adamant about it 

thinking it was

rude and egotistical to do that.

I may have removed 

one of those comments that said

just that in quite unkind language.

I would wash your hands out with soap if I could reach you.

(instead of the soaped mouth of the old days)...

which I never DID, by the way.

Some bloggers will add a reply to a comment

on their blog if there is no way for them

to answer a question that the commenter asked

ie-they have no return email address available.

I think that is a nice thing to do

....hope that made sense......

Also- added to this was 

ADVERTISING.

I did not ask about this because 

I know some people

use blogging as an income producing tool.

However, a lot of you 

DO NOT like ads of any kind--

rolling ads and pop-ups seem to be  really disliked

and cause problems by slowing things down.

Most people find them just plain aggravating-

like I said- DON'T shoot the messenger....

Several of you said that you quit visiting blogs

that are filled with advertising and sponsors.

I, for one, will not advertise on my blog 

but then I am not looking to make an income 

from blogging.

I just want to talk at ya!

you LOVE the nonsense.

No fear about losing that feature.

I have a wicked evil sense of humor.

I am not ready to agree with that-
although I will say that many of those
that were blogging when I first started
4-1/2 years ago are no longer blogging
so they miss things like this.

I am working on the assumption that
blogging is alive and well.  So....

I never do that.
I just don't have the time.

Yep-It's true-

Today I am flipping you a picture of

A BIRD.

This one sits on the right side of 

my mantle.

This one sits on the left side of the mantle.

Just realized that he looks like he is molting.

AND look at that "wing tip" hairdo.

I'd say he will be flipping off and headed to

BIRD HEAVEN 

after this season.

I don't like to overdo the mantle

in our family room

because I don't want to cover up

All Hail The Kale!

I have really fought hard

to keep SUMMER alive here.

How do I know that 

FALL is REALLY HERE?

It's the KALE!

Yes it is!

I bought 2 containers 
that each had 4 plants in them.
They were on sale 
mid summer and were pretty
PUNY looking.

I separated them and planted them
in three windowboxes.
I cannot believe how big and healthy they are!

 And while the KALE is flourishing
the ferns are starting to
WAVE GOOD-BYE.

They performed beautifully this summer
with all the rain and cool weather we had.
I am going to miss them.

What I WON'T miss are the 
MOSQUITOES.

CATCH UP

today after not much

sleep for the last few days.

As sad as it was

the funeral for our friend, Ken, yesterday

was heartwarming.

So many people that turned out to pay

their last respects.

Amazing!!!

The little country church was full with

standing room only.

He was an wonderful man

and his absence will leave a

hole that will not be easily filled.

So-

Back tomorrow with my regular nonsense.
