There was so much going on
that I forgot to
post about our
Anniversary~
August 17th.
Here we are-
FIFTY ONE YEARS AGO!
It was a hot August day
in 1975.
Yes...yes...she wore flowers in her hair....
Yes...yes...she wore flowers in her hair....
We lost most of our pictures
when our basement flooded many years ago.
I have a few~
When did I get wrinkles
and when did he lose his hair?
-sigh-
When anyone asks how
long we have been married
we respond in unison
51 YEARS...
Well, I say it immediately..
The old boy can never remember
exactly how long we have
been married.
Well, I say it immediately..
The old boy can never remember
exactly how long we have
been married.
He says- Seems like yesterday.
I say- Seems like forever.
The straightman
and the
joker.
We make quite a pair.
It has not been an easy
51 years, despite what it
may look like from the outside.
We both came out of broken
relationships....
and probably should have gotten
to really know each other
BEFORE we got married.
We dated 30 days before
we said
I DO
under an old oak tree
in
Alva, Florida.
There were lots of ups and downs
over the years.
Some easy to accept,
others much harder to deal with.
BUT-
If WE can do this-
If WE can hang in there for the long haul,
then I believe that if
two people really
WANT TO
make a relationship work...
they can...
and will...
and maybe they should.
Take a look at your partner
today...a really hard look...
and think about your
life without them.
Marriage is not always easy,
but no one ever promised us
that it would be.
I only have one piece of
advice for you....
Keep your sense of humor.
Why?
Because you are going to
NEED IT!
......Trust me on this......

Happy anniversary! Great pictures. Glad you were able to find a few. You’re right, marriage requires work but it is worth it. And a sense of humor is definitely a good thing to have!
Congratulations on your Anniversary, Diana.
I pray you have many more, my friend! Sylvia Cannon
...how the years fly by, we celebrated our 58th anniversary on August 3rd. And I had hair back then too! Be well and happy!!!

Happy 51 years Diana! Love the pictures and I can imagine the basement flood took some beautiful memories. It takes hard work to stay together and love one another through the tough things. God's goodness and grace and yes, a sense of humor! Blessings to you!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, you all are a lovely couple. Yes, it take some work, but it it very worth it in the end. May you celebrate many more years together !
Happy Anniversary. God bless you both. I LOVE your photos. Seems like I remember you told us that a dear friend insisted you have a nice wedding dress. AND she bought it for you? Am I remembering correctly? Your dress, your hair with the flowers, so 1970's!! So lovely. xx
Happy anniversary. What great pictures, and what a beauty!!!!
I thought G & I did things quick, in 6 months - boy you beat that. Many more happy years.
Happy 51st Wedding Anniversary. May the magic continue.
I get the ups and downs that happen in the course of a lifetime relationship.
And here we are, still kickin, still planning for how we want to live out our lives together.
♥️♥️
Happy Anniversary! 30 days, eh? Ay-chihuahua!
Bless you both!! Joe and I only had 36 years married, but I wouldn't trade one of them!! Congratulations and all good wishes for many more years to come! xo
Happy Anniversary. 56 years for us in a month. Love your flowers and his leisure suit. It takes a lot of humor and patience to last this long. May you have many more years together.
That message was from Debby Messner
Happy Anniversary!! Beautiful then, beautiful now...and that sharp sense of humor is still intact. How fabulous! xoxo
Congratulations!! A sense of humor can overlook many things! You were a gorgeous couple! So sad about the lost photos.
Congratulations and a very happy anniversary to you two! I wish you both all the best in the days, weeks, months, and years to come!
Happy Anniversary!! Marriage isn't perfect because people aren't. The best marriages are people who have stayed together through those hard times and I believe are stronger because of it.
Lovely pictures.
Happy Anniversary Wishes.
All the best Jan
Wow ... you've come a long way, baby!
That's all great advice; unfortunately, back in the day I was never a good listener.
YOu lady, are such a sweetheart, and HE (like me) is very fortunate. Well written and so danged true. We are approaching 70 years. I always thought our sons would follow in our footsteps. Both divorced, one of them could never have lasted, the other COULD have lasted forever, she is a great lady, we still consider her our daughter and are very close.
BUT both must work together to make it last.
CNGRATULATIONS ON THOSE 51 YEARS. Love from a HOT Florida.
Happy anniversary. That is quite an impressive milestone. I was married 21 years the first time and then he up and walked out. The second time was only 12 years before he passed away. I do agree that marriage isn’t easy.
Happy Anniversary!! I agree marriage is work. If you love each other you stick through the tough times. You come out stronger as a couple. Marriage is all bells and whistles. Take the vows seriously. I wish you many more happy years!
What a beautiful bride you were -- and still are! All wishes for a lovely anniversary. Yes, it's taking with bitter with sweet and finding the best way to soldier on. Well done, my friend. A wonderful example to us all.
CONGRATULATIONS!! 51, WOW!! 👰♀ 💍 💐 ❤ 💙 💜 . Love the wedding pictures. Great looking couple--- what a beautiful bride and love those flowers in your hair! ( remember the old going to San Francisco song??). Such a pretty dress too. Hugs!
