SEPTEMBER UPDATE

I have had several emails
asking why I haven't been posting
and wondering if everything is okay.

So, here I am-saying Hi!
I am going to fill you in.
Since April of 2019
we have been on a journey
to find out why MyHero
is having medical issues.
Many of you have asked
after his health.
I didn't want to say anything
because he was still a chaplain
at a local hospital.
As of today, he resigned.

He has endured numerous tests
these past few months.
Here's the good news!
Heart is perfect,
Bloodwork is perfect,
MRI of his head shows nothing
well there are some brains in there
Just had a chest x-ray and that looks okay.
Bad news?
We are back at square one with
2 more tests scheduled.
So-keep him in your prayers.

Meanwhile,
We have been camping on a site
in Door County, WI
with the Minnie Winnie.
Guess what?!
We are selling it!
Are we giving up camping?
Nope!
We are going glamping!
We bought a 5th wheel that is
set up on a permanent site
in the same park we have been in.

We met the previous owners today.
What lovely, lovely people.
They would have been great
camping neighbors.
But, they are in their 80s
and felt it was time to do something else.
LUCKY US!

I can't wait to show it to you!
Here it is!
Okay- I might have lied about that!
Anyway--that
WOULD BE FUN THOUGH
wouldn't it?

Fall is quite beautiful up here!
Okay-it's NOT REALLY my own
campground! (you nitpickers)

And-I am still in the process of
waiting for things to get done
here at the condo.
John's health issues have taken
priority so I don't go far from home.
No shopping-No treasures. lol

To be done:
Rug for dining room(one on order)
new lights in upper bathroom,
New faucets in upper bathroom.
Paint cabinets in upper bathroom.
Get window treatments up throughout.
Glass for tile shower enclosure-
using a shower curtain is driving me
And, believe me, I haven't far to go.
Oh yes- also need-
smoke alarms (really?!)
fan in master bathroom,
too many little things to mention.

We moved in the week that
COVID 19 shut everything down!
How lucky can I get?

I have had the opportunity to
sort through a lot of stuff.

Somehow, I have managed to keep my
SENSE OF HUMOR--
or maybe I am just crazy in general.
Shut up family!

So that is the
Tale of Nana Diana.
I will be back with a
PICK A FALL TABLE
soon!

Headed up to the campground
right now and I have
NO INTERNET UP THERE
so will catch up on Monday night.

Love you girl! Prayers for you and John! So glad you are making life easier by getting that permanent place at the campground. We head to Rushmore in two weeks. Can’t wait, but between us and your other readers I kind of wish we had ended up with your Minnie-but the Lord knew what we needed.
Love you!

I sure hope you can find out what is wrong. We went through two years of tests with john only to find out he has an auto immune disease. I am so sorry!

I am so glad that all of John's test came back clear, Diana. I will continue to pray for complete resolution and answers to the questions you both still have for his health issues. God will provide!

Have fun camping, sweet friend! Soak in all that beauty and peacefulness! Love and hugs to you!

Thanks for the update on both John and you! I figured you would let us all know what is going on. I pray for both of you, that Elohim will answer all your concerns. Your permanent camper will simplify things for you. Sounds like fun in a beautiful place! xoxo

I had thought the reason for you absence might be something like that ~
Know I'm holding the both of you in my heart ~
Huge hugs coming your way ~

Oh my, I sure hope the new tests show something, but nothing serious. I am sorry he had to retire. Please keep us updated. I love the cute little camper, wish it was yours!

So wonderful to be able to escape! I would certainly love that! We take little day trips once in a while. Randy has been busy trying to get both his homes fixed up to sell. Slow going while this pandemic goes on. He has one in Lincoln City, OR and his here in Oregon City, OR.
Enjoy times away!

Well I’m sorry John is having ongoing health problems. I hope you can get it figured out. Sounds like you found a nice place to camp. The fifth wheel sounds great!

Thanks for catching us up, Diana. Please keep us posted about your hubby and the next two tests. So far, so good!! He has been added to my prayers! I will look forward to seeing photos of your new camper! Those 5th wheelers look really nice- the ones I've seen on TV. All the comforts of home (just smaller). Love & hugs!

Doreen@foxdenrd said...

Keeping my fingers crossed that all will be well with John and the two of you will have many, many happy years in your 5th wheel!

Ann said...

My inlaws go to Florida every winter and used to take a 5th wheel. They sold that and bought a park model. I wouldn't mind something like that to escape to once in a shile.
Hope all goes well with John. It must be frustrating going through all those tests and not finding out what's going on.

Great to read this update! Continuing to hold you both in prayer! Sending love and hugs!

Thank you for the update. I've been wondering too! So glad you are doing okay, but we will continue to pray for your hubby. Your to do list is long, but having moved last year I can tell you that the list will keep growing as you live there and figure out what is needed next. We are still finding things to repair, replace, redo. Meanwhile, enjoy your camping. Have you already sold your old one? Just curious... Have a great time.

Hopefully you get sone answer and ill be saying my prayers. Continue to enjoy your camping

I am so sorry for what you and your hero are going thru this past year. I know about going through many, many tests (not me, but someone I love) and waiting for results that were not definitive. I am glad to read that many things have been ruled out and hope that these next two will give you an answer and a treatment.

Boy, I would love that fun trailer.

Take care, Diana.

Finding a medical problem can be so frustrating and I hope he finds answers soon....enjoy your glamping, it's nice to have a getaway!

Diana, glad the tests are coming back fine. I would love to have that little funny camper, but a 5th wheel is much better. That was our first experience and I just loved it. Would love to find a park to leave our motorhome in so we could have a get away. I never wanted to do that because thought it would keep us from traveling. Well, something anyway has kept us from traveling so would like to find one now. Maybe..Keep having fun and keep us informed when you can..Stay well..xxoJudy

Happy Camping . . .
Maybe the new fifth wheel, fresh air, sitting by the campfire, fun days,
will be “hubs” medicine for some healing, feeling better!
I will keep him in my hopes and caring!
Thank you for keeping us “in your loop!”

Prayers for you and your beloved! There must be SOMETHING they can find and then treat. I know how frustrating the search can be.....been through that with Summer.

You definitely are on repeat in my prayers. The little fifth wheel actually looks a lot like my oldest daughter's and sil's....well, you just have to imagine the paint job. They are those throwback souls, though. :)

If you had that other camper, you'd need to dig out your bell bottoms and love beads! It's good to hear from you, Diana. I hope you and John get some answers soon, so you are not in that holding pattern for much longer. I'm glad some scary things were ruled out, however. Take care! -Jenn

Oh how fun! EXCEPT for the health issues, I pray that you all will find out what's going on and get some help for your honey! Love the camping scene. I know you will be enjoying your new camping home. It sounds like you have lots on your to-do list at the condo but no rush. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS and PRAYERS coming your way!

So good to hear from you...and as always get a good chuckle in ☺ You never fail to make me laugh! Ugh to figuring out what is going on in the health of your husband. It can be so frustrating. Prayers!
If I was to ever go camping again...it's been a long time since our tenting time...it would be a BIG camper in a campground close to a beach. Well I'd rather have a BIG house ☺☺
Have a fun weekend!

Diana, You and John are in my daily prayers. I am glad to read that his blood tests and heart scans are good. How did I know you would say something about his brain...you kill me girl. Praying for something easy to fix. You sure could use a break. John has had those issues since Ted went in for his transplant. So you have had a tough times too my friend. Just doing what we women have to do in general to run a household and then to be caregiver on top of it is not easy....not to mention doing the things the men used to do . I swear my arms are a foot longer from carrying softener salt, fire wood, and bottle water. Plus shoveling snow in winter. I am flat wore out. Hugs to Diana. Stay strong , witty and smart. Blessings, xoxo, love you, Susie
p.s. tell John to be tough. Sad that he resigned, I know his faith is great and he likes to share it. Praying for all.

I'm sorry you are going thru not really knowing with your dear hero's health. Soon you will and they will be able to take care of it well.
I will pray for you two.
Alejandro and me contracted COVID-19. It took me a month to get well and six weeks, or two more then me.
We didn't have a difficult time, hardly any fever, except for Alejandro losing his sense of smell and taste. I had headaches and was extremely tired. We're walking a lot now to regain some strength. So before we were at the world "shut in"and then later we got sick, so yeah, we are still quite weak, what with all the house chores and everything that goes with it.
We were treated at home by a Dr. that came daily and did a wonderful job.
We are finally free of it and somewhat more relaxed that we went thru it. Thank goodness we didn't die like Marty's husband. Such a sad situation, my goodness !
I've been praying for all the sick every morning and will have you and your darling present as well.
Big hugs,
Fabby

That is a neat looking "5th wheel" LOL. Loved the post. Many years ago we bought a small 'C Class' to see if we liked it. in a year and half we realized we LIKED the road, so we upgraded.
The 5th wheel is a great way to go.
The best to you guys, be safe. and prayers for the Chaplain (and his Lady).
We will be reading between the "Not responding and Please Waits".
Love from NC I feel for the couple leaving the 5th wheel. I keep wondering WHEN for us.
We will head to Florida and our new to us trailer we boutght 6 weeks ago and haven't been inside since.
Love again,
Sherry & jack

Sorry to be so late in commenting, but I was sick this past week (well, a gluten ingestion sick, ughhh!)

Glad for the good news. Sorry for the, no real news yet, part.

Hooray for the permanent camper, as long as you love doing this. ~smile~ Camping is not my cup of tea. ~grin~

Enjoy your Autumnal time there!

So sorry your Hero is still having medical issues. It's so frustrating not knowing what is going on...just ask me because I'm dealing with the same type of thing. Sooo tired of going to the dr. and finding out nothing. Thankfully you have your camp for some peace. I think that might be fun but don't think I could talk hubby into it. Praying you (and I) find answers soon. And don't worry about all those projects...they will get done eventually.

Lorrie said...

Thanks for the update. That's good news about John, but also frustrating as you still don't know what's happening. I pray that the docs will find something via this next round of tests.
We purchased a little travel trailer this year and have been out on a couple of 5 night trips. It's a lot of fun.
I hope you enjoy getting things done in your new home - your list is impressive!

Oh Diana...I’m sorry to hear about John's health issues. My prayers are with him and you both.. It is nice to have a unit all set up and not have to drive every time you want to Camp. We finally did that too. We had a 5th wheel...setup. Tom built a deck on the front. It was so nice. I pray you enjoy yours as much as we did..

We've continued to pray for John... happy to know at least those things are okay with him! We'll focus prayers on the doctor(s) being able to find out exactly what's going on. // Always lots of little things to do when moving into a new place huh (why can't these things already magically be there?? lol). That cute little camper would have been so fun if it was true lol! // Looking forward to your update! Blessings to you, Diana!

Wishing John the best, hope he gets some answers soon. Don't you just hate waiting. Take care, Diana.

Well, somehow I missed this post! Oooo, glamping! Now that sounds fun. Can't wait to see what that looks like. I'm sorry you haven't found answers yet for John...I do hope something is figured out so y'all can do something besides wonder and wait.

Yeah, all those little things can drive you batty. I still have a few small things to take care of in our garage conversion and we need to build our storage cabinets. At least it's useable. 😊

We are getting Fall-like weather here. Rain, cooler temps...heavenly break from those upper 90 degree days. Still a couple months away from fall foliage though. I'll just enjoy looking at the photos everyone else posts!

Have a good rest of the week. Hugs,
Cecilia

Girl you made me smile with this post. Glad hubby does NOT have trouble with those things.
Father God, I pray that you will give the medical staff discernment to find the problem and treat it successfully. Better yet, I ask you to heal him fully, completely, and miraculously in Jesus' name.

And help them get everything ready for their next step!
