This is a blast from the past.
I am lucky to have grandkids
that will eat almost anything.
So.....
What sounds like a fun treat?
Artichoke Dip!
Seriously!?
Yep! Seriously---Artichoke Dip!
All you need is:
1 can of water packed artichokes.
1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 cup of mayo.
(and I sometimes add a dash of
garlic powder-making it
Artichoke Dip for IDIOTS instead)
AND- I usually bake this until it is
browned on the top and bubbly.
20 mins max at 350 degrees.

Heat for 5 minutes in the microwave on high.
or put into a mini crock pot
and heat through.
but I usually serve it with french bread pieces.

You will notice we are eating in our
Princess clothes.
Thing One
says:
ART - AH - CHOKE
It makes you want to CHOKE when
Yeah...
Welcome to the real world, Nana.
Nothing wasted here.
MyHero polished it off.
I have a houseful of people here
this weekend.
I may not be able to visit much

Diana, I loved SC's response. Go figure...the minute you think they will eat something is just when they don't like it any more. LOL Maybe it taste different on the bread., Or with catsup...LOL. that's how my Liz used to eat everything. Hope you enjoy your houseful of company...psst, hope they help out too. Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie
I love artichoke dip but have struggled tremendously to find a recipe that's as good as one from a restaurant I used to love! Have a fab weekend!
Classic responses from the kids...and love the faces they made. Have fun with your company, Diana.
I'm glad your Hero saved the day by eating the dip for you...LOL.
Smooches.

Well, I was just fixin'' to say......
Well Diana I am going to put on my Princess outfit and my tiara and make this today but throw in some lump crab and a dash of hot sauce and chopped shallots and zest of a lemon, oh and some cheddar cheese instead. This dummy (me) doesn't follow recipes! Loved the snaps of the grands ... Too funny!
xoxo
we recently got some popcorn that nobody in the house liked. It was incredibly nasty. Even my wife that can stomach anything said it was disgusting
Ha! Kids. Just when you think you've got them all figured out. ;) I'd eat it!!
Sounds deeeeelicious!!!!
I prefer the bake-in-oven way. (Guess you and do it in micro or in oven.)
Don't worry about the blogging-dance this weekend. do your necessary stuff. start fresh, monday morning. how's that for an idea???
DON'T YOU DARE ANSWER THAT QUESTION!!!! Silly girl. To reply is to defeat my advice. and you know, that is a NO NO!!!
Huggggles...
I'm saving this, Diana! I love artichokes and this is really so easy!
Enjoy your weekend!
Sounds good to me, but then I am always a sucker for anything for DUMMIES :)

Now that is funny! I use to hate artichokes when I was little and now, I've grown to love it. So...there's hope for them when they get older. My kids look at me and the dish and if it looks unappealing, they won't even try it. Silly kids...next time hide it is a meal. ;0)
Have a great weekend, Diana!
Hugs, Amy

Ha, their responses are priceless! I personally grew up eating them.
I'm with the kids on the no to artichoke dip, but I do love to put some in pasta salad. Hmmmm, go figure.
Hi! So funny! My grands will not eat everything either!! Well, at least you gave it a good try! Enjoy your company! Nancy
Hey Girlfriend, Who you calling a Dummy? Seriously, thanks for the recipe . . . I enjoy simple recipes especially when they taste good :)
Have a happy weekend:)

I am not a fan of artichokes myself. But it sounds easy to make to bring to a party where there are people that do like them.
I love the stuff and your hubby would have had to fight me for it if I'd been there. Heck, I don't ever need a cracker for it, just give me a spoon.
Heck, I don't even need a spoon, I have perfectly good fingers for it :))))
I love the pics of your beautiful dancer Ria. What a doll she is!
sending hugs...
Looks yummy!!!
Kathy
YUM! Bring some to me!
I hope you are having lots of fun with your houseful!
I didn't think kids would eat it! But I sure would! Enjoy your houseful! xo ♥
Sounds wonderful and I'm saving it for our ladies brunch at church. Have a lovely weekend. Your girls are so pretty.
I love artichoke dip! I've had it before as an appetizer at restaurants and served with tortilla chips. Yum! Those kids may learn to love it when they're older.
I was thinking your grandchildren would have had to be something else to like artichoke! Glad your hero enjoyed it! :)
Sounds super tasty - I might have to give this a try for my next party!
That"s a kiddo for you... But I think I would love it! Have a great weekend and enjoy it all. Hugs, Roxy
I eat at a Mexican restaurant and they have a dip I love. It's artichoke and Poblano pepper dip. I think I will try this and add the peppers to it. It's served hot with pita bread triangles. It is served warm also,
Thanks for the inspiration.
Judy
Don't like artichokes much .
Merle..........
I love artichoke's! My first young adult novel is called Artichoke's Heart, though it's not a cookbook!
YUM! I would have eaten it!
deb
Diana, I have made this dip for years only instead of Parmesan I use Monterey Jack. My SIL made it one Thanksgiving and I was hooked. I make it often, in fact Jerry just asked me the other day to make it again. And we have never choked once!!..Happy Weekend..Judy
You are so fun!
I think this sounds great. :-)
Have a great weekend.

This is so funny.....Ky won't eat ANYTHING, but she love's Applebee's artichoke dip!
One of my favorites! Kids are normally not fond of it. :)
Enjoy your weekend!

Artichoke dip is one of my favorites! I add a little mozzarella cheese in too. Makes it very gooey!!! Have fun with your house full.
Happy Sunday.

I love artichoke dip!
I absolutely LOVE artichoke dip - wish I coulda helped your fella indulge - yum yum yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Funny, my youngest daughter would say "choke" too - insisted she try it years ago and she completely freaked out on me. LOL. She was an adult. Just sayin'.

Artichoke dip is a fave but I forgot about it and haven't made it in ages! Hope you are enjoying your Indiana company this weekend!
You had me at kids who ate most anything! I have never ever had that. Looked like a good recipe to me.
Diana, I think it looks delicious. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Enjoy your house full! xo
I'll pass. I need no other warning than that expression on Sweet Cheeks' face. LOL! (I have never eaten artichoke. Nope. And I am not one bit curious.)
OOH, that sounds yummy! I loved the expressions on the princess and bride's face while they ate the arti-choke, lol! Enjoy your weekend, hope you have some more wonderful chuckles :)
Sounds pretty good to me, I would probably eat the whole thing LOL. I tried to open the blog about Gert and it wouldn't open, but will include her husband in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Let us know how he is.
Rest up after your very busy weekend and have a terrific week.
Hugs,
Mary
I'm with them..I won't choke on it because it won't get anywhere near my mouth !!! Happy weekend..
You know, I always stayed away from artichoke dip at parties because I didn't think I would like it. Then once I was kind of cornered and had to try it and you know what? I LIKED it! I've never made it though, so I'm happy to finally have an easy recipe. Thanks!
Love the kids' (and Rosetta') honest reactions to the dip. Me? I'd devour that entire bowl.
