ARTICHOKE DIP FOR DUMMIES...OR Three Ingredient Artichoke Dip

This is a blast from the past.

I am lucky to have grandkids

that will eat almost anything.

So.....

What sounds like a fun treat?

Artichoke Dip!

Seriously!?

Yep!  Seriously---Artichoke Dip!

All you need is:

1 can of water packed artichokes.

1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup of mayo.

(and I sometimes add a dash of

garlic powder-making it

Artichoke Dip for IDIOTS instead)

AND- I usually bake this until it is

browned on the top and bubbly.

20 mins max at 350 degrees.
 Chop the artichokes.

Stir in the Parmesan and mayo.

Heat for 5 minutes in the microwave on high.

or put into a mini crock pot

and heat through.

I served this with crackers this time

but I usually serve it with french bread pieces.

So, how did the kids fare that will

"eat almost anything"?

You will notice we are eating in our

Princess clothes.

Thing One

says:

ART - AH - CHOKE

It makes you want to CHOKE when

you eat it!

Thing Two

The "bride" didn't like it much either.

Yeah...

Welcome to the real world, Nana.

What's this?

Even Rosetta looks a little stunned!

Never fear-

Nothing wasted here.

MyHero polished it off.

I have a houseful of people here

this weekend.

I may not be able to visit much

so cut me a little slack, will ya?

You know I am thinking about

y'all anyway!

ps.  Don't CHOKE on the ARTICHOKE!

Blessings to all, xoxo,Susie

Well Diana I am going to put on my Princess outfit and my tiara and make this today but throw in some lump crab and a dash of hot sauce and chopped shallots and zest of a lemon, oh and some cheddar cheese instead. This dummy (me) doesn't follow recipes! Loved the snaps of the grands ... Too funny!

Now that is funny! I use to hate artichokes when I was little and now, I've grown to love it. So...there's hope for them when they get older. My kids look at me and the dish and if it looks unappealing, they won't even try it. Silly kids...next time hide it is a meal. ;0)
Have a great weekend, Diana!

I am not a fan of artichokes myself. But it sounds easy to make to bring to a party where there are people that do like them.

I love the stuff and your hubby would have had to fight me for it if I'd been there. Heck, I don't ever need a cracker for it, just give me a spoon.
Heck, I don't even need a spoon, I have perfectly good fingers for it :))))

I love the pics of your beautiful dancer Ria. What a doll she is!

I love artichoke dip! I've had it before as an appetizer at restaurants and served with tortilla chips. Yum! Those kids may learn to love it when they're older.

I eat at a Mexican restaurant and they have a dip I love. It's artichoke and Poblano pepper dip. I think I will try this and add the peppers to it. It's served hot with pita bread triangles. It is served warm also,

Thanks for the inspiration.

You know, I always stayed away from artichoke dip at parties because I didn't think I would like it. Then once I was kind of cornered and had to try it and you know what? I LIKED it! I've never made it though, so I'm happy to finally have an easy recipe. Thanks!

Love the kids' (and Rosetta') honest reactions to the dip. Me? I'd devour that entire bowl.
