You know how you always have those bits
and pieces that you meant to post about
but never did?
Well....Guess what, folks?
Today is YOUR lucky day!
I am going to
FINISH UP POSTING
a bunch of random crap stuff.
I think I might do this on Fridays.
Nothing too long and boring-
just bits and pieces of everyday life.
Ready?
Remember my fairy garden
that is planted in an old wheelbarrow?
Yeah? Well, today it looks like THIS!
The fairies have moved out and the trolls have taken over.
THAT will be remedied this weekend!
AND
Remember how I said we lost a lot of plants this winter?
Well, aren't I lucky?
Look at what survived!
Ummmm-for you NON-GARDENERS~
That, my dear friends, is a THISTLE!
Moving along:
You know how when you fry hamburger it gets all clumped together?
Did you know an wire potato masher separates the meat
into nice crumbly little bits?
Let's see-what else we got in the old "unposted" file?
Oh- How about THIS HOUSE?
Yes- Someone actually lives here!
If you look close there are dolls staring out the upstairs windows....
C-R-E-E-P-Y
What else do I have?
Mother's Day gifts.
The flowers that have daffodils in there now
originally had white roses and irises and lavender tulips,
I enjoyed it for a week or so before replacing
the droopy flowers with daffodils.
Flameless candle that LOOKS like a real flame-
A hydrangea plant-that I planted today-
A set of copper-colored/turquoise urns for
our front stoop.
It was a VERY GOOD Mother's Day!
So---there you have it!
I feel so much better.
I have been purging rooms and closets
and now I am purging pictures.
Oh- One more thing!
You know how you look at your own kid(s)
and think they are the smartest kid(s) God ever put on Earth?
They are just SO smart!!!!
Well, the "smartest boy in the world" here
Tried to EAT a PLASTIC PEAR!
And THAT is all I'm gonna say about THAT!
Happy Friday to kick off Memorial Day Weekend!

Diana, That poor fairy garden.:):) I am going to be working on some containers here this weekend also. What is up with those dolls peeking out the windows?? Those little teeth marks can be a keepsake. Hope you have a beautiful weekend. xoxo,Susie
Love those little teeth marks. Have fun playing with your fairy garden. Fingers crossed we stay dry this weekend. It's time to get the yard back in order.
Good Morning! My fairy garden, of sorts, didn't quite do well over this last harsh winter. Everything must be replaced. Your smart guy is adorable. Hope his teeth are okay. Too funny!
Your fairy garden cracked me up! Also, huge beef recall in the US right now, maybe no ground beef this week. :(
Nice wrap up, Diana! I may have to do a post like this myself. Pictures taken for potential projects or ideas that never fully took off. I want to see that fairy garden brought back to life. Right now it looks like the Survivor edition of fairy gardens. : )
Love your "Friday" post, good idea! There's always so much to do in a garden, but I just can't find the time to do it these days, there's a wheel barrel full of dead plants sitting by my patio. Love the pear story, reminds me of my 11 year old grandson, He thought my lemons were real and we could make "lots of lemonade"
My hen and chickens look like your fairy garden. I think they must be related.
LOL on the artificial pear. Some of them do look good enough to eat.
All the 'this and that' things make our lives very interesting. My favorite is the teeth marks in the plastic pear, priceless.
well in his defense it does look quite real!!!!! He is a male, my male family members never understand the need for fake fruit, it stumps them everytime, I think this would be a great friday feature, beautiful urns, wow, they will look great!!!!
LOL Great post, Diana! That house looks like one of my neighbors. She actually still has her Christmas wreath on her front door and her tree on the window. And the best part, she lights it up every night!!! LOL Somebody needs to tell her we are in May. Too funny! Love the pictures of the pear. Poor baby! Enjoy your memorial day weekend!
hahaha that reminds me when my grandson was around two years old and I had him out to my mom's visiting...she had a decorative apple. It was wooden / had a bit out of it...country style decor there. And HE thought it was real too. THEN she had a stack of little wooden books and oh did they tick him off because they wouldn't open! :)
That is too funny about the pear, Diana! I always know that I can come visit you for my first laugh of the day! Are you sure it wasn't your Hero that took a bit out of it??? That poor house, it looks like it was grand back in the day. It (and the people who live there) need some serious help! Have a great weekend!
:) Oh, I remember my daughter also bit onto one apple I had as a decoration, they look so real! Your fairy garden looks like a jungle :) can't wait to see it in all its splendor once again!
Oh what a hardy survivor that plant is. I had to laugh at the wheelbarrow,
I use a potato masher for my ground meat too. , works like a charm.
Hi Diana! You always make my day! Love your randomness and it's good to see what's going on around your place. Thanks for popping in to see me and we're excited about our new adventure.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I never thought of using an old wheel barrow as a fairy garden! The plastic pear gave me a chuckle. Have a great weekend!
Hahaha!!! Love the mish-mash of lots of things, but the pear cracked me up!
Purging closets is one of my favorite things to do these days. Out with the old and not replacing any of it. That fairy garden was adorable. You should plant another one for sure.
You hit on a lot of topic today...wow, you have been busy with that camera! Of course, as a mommy and former nursery school and kindergarten teacher, you know I love the pear picture the best! ;)
what a great idea!!!! use up those unused photos, in a post, which tells-right-up-front, that it's a collection of "the unused". -grin-
as to the plastic pear, with teeth marks.... it's a keeper!!! pull that out on him, when he's about 21, and watch the reaction!!!! ,-)
How did I get this old and not know about the potato masher trick......I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks! Have a fun Memorial week end.....hugs, Penny
Love the potato masher for hamburger meat! I liked this post!
One of my kids bit into a fake pear when he was little. And I'm laughing as I write this- my mom did, too! LOL
I have so many photos, too many to post if I lived to be 300!
I'm continuing my purge, too. Feels great!
Enjoy your new fairy garden reno- can't wait to see it.
xo, T.
I would love to create a fairy garden by our pond. The potato masher is a genius idea! Ha, eating faux fruit. That one takes the cake.
Oh the memories! I never saw teeth marks in a plastic pear before.
Love the pear !! love that you got a pic of that pear LOL PRECIOUS Memories sister !! That fairy garden is awesome. I just can't take on another thing LOL might get into my beach(NESS) LOL love the post and will be trying that tater masher thing ...xoxox HUGS
Would you believe I don't even own a potato masher?! I need to pick one up pronto! :) Love the teeth marks in the pear! Hope you have a glorious long weekend!!
Well you can't blame him, it does look very much like a pear! Have a happy memorial day week-end.
Sad to hear that you have lost many plants. I am even getting tempted to eat the pear then what to say about the smartest boy in the world! I have not seen the wired potato masher!
Enjoy the weekend Diana. Sometimes there just is not a lot happening in the life of a blogger.....except for the little things of life........which certainly make for a great blog. You must save that pear to show "the smartest boy on earth" how smart he was as a child....he won't believe it!!
Oh Diana, I love your random pictures so much. I do a post every now and then called "just because" and it's similar to this. I think these are the best posts cause your blog friends like to see bits and pieces of your every day life - things that don't mean too much but that are scattered into your beautiful world. I have been getting rid of things too. Doesn't it feel great? That is so cool about the hamburger and the potato masher - I just use a fork and it takes sooo long. And your fairy garden......you know I love that. I hope you plant another one this year.
Have a good Memorial Day weekend, Diana.
Here's To Sunday's Child!
love,
~Sheri
I think the pear looks real, too! Have a great weekend!
I think that your Friday post is great. You should do that every week. Don't you ever feed that growing little boy LOL.
Have a terrific Memorial Day Weekend and eat lots of great BBQ food. Yum
Mary
Hi Diana,
Your fairy garden did look nice but you are not the only ones that the trolls moved in on! All my gardens were infected by the trolls and we are working hard to fixing that. I like your idea of blogging bits on Fridays and think it's a great idea and maybe you could start a trend? I just started my fairy garden but mine is actually under a tree in my garden...come over if you love fairy gardens...there's more to come.
Hugs, Lynnie
How funny! That house is a little creepy with the dolls looking out at you!
I love imagining how you actually sound. You have such an awesome sense of humor. This was a great idea for a post. I have SO many posts I've started but just never get around to finishing them. Also, I still have a fake apple that one of my kids tried to take a bite out of..but they were older and still got fooled! lol
Have a safe and happy weekend,
Nancy
Hello Diana!!!!
I am in Traverse City for now and haven't been reading any blogs in a very long time. As usual it is nice to visit your blog to see what you have been doing.
Suzann ~xoxo~
Wait a minute now, that only proves how realistic the fake fruit is. That can't be his fault...just sayin.'
Dolls? I think trolls live in that house. Yikes!
LOL, thanks for posting all of your random crap...er stuff. My flower beds are horrendus....b/c 1) it has been too cold to work outside & 2) I don't feel up to it yet, hopefully in a day or 2. I can top your 'boy eating plastic pear' with 'boy eating LOL
Eating a fake pear are you hungry or shortsighted.
Merle............
LOL I remember my mother had wax fruit in a bowl years ago and my youngest brother once tried to eat it, even chewing and swallowing a small bit and announcing it was not good. LOL
Your posts are always over the top------and I find that I actually laugh out loud reading them!!! Your 'plastic pear story' reminds me of a faux pas I actually committed this winter. You know those battery operated candles that look SOOOOOO real??? Well, you guessed it.....my husband found me with a steak knife trying to carve the wick out of the wax!!! He STILL will not let me forget my goof---and usually reminds me when we have company.
That plastic pear! Bless his heart! I've enjoyed your "bits and pieces!" xo Nellie
I love those urns/pots for your front porch! Hope you have a fun and safe holiday ~
xo
Pat
I have enjoyed catching up with you this evening. I enjoyed your post this evening and even had a chuckle. My grandson is taking care of my yard while momma is doing her grocery shopping. They get out Wednesday from school. My youngest was finished today. Your little one had to ride with papa on the mower. Have a wonderful day. Hugs and Prayers from Your Missouri Friend.
Okay girlfriend, I literally laughed out loud at your fairy garden. Now THAT is some real deal stuff. I love your idea of finishing it up Friday! I might just jump on that wagon. Making you CEO of course. How long do the flameless candles last? And yes that house is kinda creepy. Toodles.
LOL chuckled all the way thru this! You sure covered some territory! I have a flameless flickering candle too and I love it. You did well on M's Day! Bree is now into fairies and your garden is an inspiration because she is going to have two of them - at home and here at grandma's too!
But your little fake pear eater? Omgosh - how cute can you get?!
HA! I am laughing about the pear! What a cutie! And tell those trolls to scram!!! I have no doubt that the fairies will be back in their cute little home in no time! And ahhhh what in the world with the dolls and the windows...totally freaks me out! Happy weekend to you and yours lady! Nicole xoxo
Loved all your fun tidbits, Diana! Sometimes these kinds of posts are the most fun! At least your smartest boy didn't eat the thistle!
Loved this post! And, I was always gonna make a fairy garden, but now I'm thinking not so much! I know that's how mine would end up if I had one. Thanks for a good laugh tonight.
great odds and ends, but, the house creeps me out! your fruit nibbler is adorable!
I've thought about planting a fairy garden with the girls. Now - I'm not so sure. LOL But then, surely it couldn't be that hard to weed?
And yeah, I've noticed how most people think their kid is the smartest thing ever. Even parents with not so smart children seem to think that. Either that - or their kid is the worst ever and needs medicated. LOL In our part of the country there is a lot of that going around. And I really think that a little ADHD is probably just a kid being a normal, energetic kid. They just weren't designed to sit still and do what you want them to all day.
Diana, I love your fairy garden. I had never seen one nor even knew they existed until I saw yours. Because of you, I made one two years ago. I had all purple flowers in it in memory of a young girl who was kidnapped and killed in Ontario. She loved the colour purple and I followed the trial on Facebook and I was so taken up with thoughts of her. Let's just say I was broken up. Last year, they tore down all the balconies in our building and built new ones. So I could not make one. That's why I threw away the big pot I had purchased for the fairy garden. They even took away our lockers to build new apartments so I had no place to store it. If I ever make another one, it will have to be an inside one. Sorry for the long post!
I loved your garden when it was done up girl - you have some work to do!
Oh I love the fairy garden! It is darling! xoxo Jen
I've been thinking about making a fairy garden FOREVER! I've also been thinking about doing a weekly roundup post like this but now I'm gonna look like a copy cat! lol
It's funny but the dolls in the windows remind me of our 'Chuckie'. Long story, but if the spirit moves you read about him on my blog (in the sidebar). Keep in mind that after the move he disappeared. Weird!
I hope you fairy garden is looking good again!
