A BIG SURPRISE FOR THE HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTEST

See if you can GUESS where I was on
SATURDAY NIGHT!
Here's a hint!
I have to tell you a bit of the back story.
Grab a cuppa coffee or your vodka drink of choice,
sit back and read.

Kris & I "met" online blogging and we
"connected" on many levels,
love of home, love of family,
love of her handy-dandy husband, Terry,
love of all things pretty.

One day out of the clear blue
A MAN CALLED ME.
I didn't recognize the number and debated
on whether to answer.
A voice that I didn't recognize said-
How would you like to come down here?
WEAR A NIGHTGOWN!
BRING SOME $1 BILLS!
BRING 5 LOTTERY TICKETS
and
I WILL PICK YOU UP AT THE MOTEL
OF YOUR CHOICE!

What went through my mind---
Hmmm...Axe murderer looking for a mark?
MANY other things went through my mind.
(Actually he offered to let me stay with them
but I didn't want to put that on Kris)

He wanted to surprise Kris with ME
for her
GIRLFRIEND PARTY.

As I walked into the house
~which, let me tell you, her pictures
do NOT do justice to her house-
you have to see it in person to
really appreciate it~
I came in through the back door
as Terry pretended he forgot his wallet
so he could drop me off...
I held a gift bag high up so it covered my face.
Kris was watching me-
and it took her just a few seconds
to realize that it was
Nana Diana-a real person in real life time!
You can read her 'take' on it here.

We were like BFF's from the first moment on.
Okay- first off- my hair---
I had tried to neaten it up
by pulling part of it
up and back...
yeah---well- you can see how well that worked out.
Terry said he recognized me in the parking lot by
ALL THAT WHITE HAIR!  lol

Kris is even prettier in person than the picture shows!

WHAT A PARTY!
Okay-
First of all - the FOOD!
And did I mention her friends
MIGHT BE CRAZY?
This one seemed to ZONE OUT
right in the middle of
THE PARTY!
I won't name her because
I don't want her family
to put her in
THE HOME (yet).
The lady next to her (Sandy)
was wearing a blinking necklace all night.
Luckily, I am not seizure prone because
I sat next to her---

We partied in Terry's
FIREMAN  CAVE
(much to his distress)
I won't mention that someone,
who shall remain nameless, thus, blameless,
might have broken one of his shelves off the wall.
Not that the party got wild, or anything,
you understand!

Kris had gifts & drawings-
the gifts that were exchanged
went to benefit a
CHARITY OF THE GIVER'S CHOICE!
It was a wonderful night!

I am SO glad that I showed up in
PAJAMAS
with
DOLLARS
and
LOTTERY TICKETS.

All that was missing was the
POLE DANCING FIREMAN!
Although Kris assures me that he
does that at home when they are alone...
which sets THIS BOY a'howlin'....
And that's all I'm gonna say about THAT!

Thank you, Kris, for a wonderful,
wonderful party!

Guess what!
I am coming next year and bringing
ALL MY GIRLS
with me!

You can blame Terry for this WHOLE MESS!~

Diana, what a fabulous idea she has, creating that girlfriend party and contributing to charity at the same time! I went over to her blog to read about it, too. I think it was a hair-colour mutual attraction for you two! -Jenn

OMG Girlfriend. I love you and loved this surprise. God I think you could have picked my jaw off the ground when you peeked around the gift bag. What a great night and what a super duper friend you are to drive down and wait for Uber driver Terry to pick you up in a parking lot of a hotel in your nightgown. LOL!!!!! Yep you are so coming next year and bringing your daughters to hang with me and mine. You are always welcome here. Next time you come down you are staying with me in that guest room and I promise I will give you turn down service and a chocolate on your pillow!!!! Love you girl. You made my night even more special.
Hugs,
Kris

No way!!! I am so jealous! Although if you're the kind of gal who gets that wild at a party that things get broken well then you may never get an invite down here :)

Diana... this sounded like you had a pile of fun... I laughed about the pole dancing. I am not sure what I would think about going to a strangers house... I am thrilled to hear it turned out so great and fun xox... (Yes, her house is beautiful) xox

I am so glad that you got to go. I am praying that I can get to VA and then stop by Chicago on my way back to meet you and I will get you a room at the Hyatt (have lots of points), Kris and Jane and of course any other else in Chicago land.

That party looks amazing and I am so happy that you got to attend. It looks like such fun.

So glad that you liked my post - the park was a lot of fun and for such a wonderful cause.

Have a great week,

What a fun party, but I am afraid that I would have hung-up on the caller, before he finished his invitation. That would have been a shame . . . to miss out on all that fun, LOL.

You are so funny. Only you would show up at a house you had never been to, for a party with someone you had never met, wearing pjs and holding lottery tickets and money. Oh my! I can't help but laugh. Thanks for all the pictures. It sounds like a lot of fun. I'm sure we'll be getting a post next year about your second time at this party.

Wow! What a treat! So you live near each other? At least within driving distance. I have met a couple of bloggers and it was such a treat. One of my faves and I have tried to hook up several times when she's passed through TN and just missed each other. We found out that our kids graduated college together. It will happen. What fun!

What a fun party! I bet your friend, Kris, was thrilled that you came, Diana. Her house is so pretty with a lot of white in her home décor. It really looks like a Christmas winter wonderland. The food looks great. That was so nice of her husband to pick you up, but even more nice that you attended the party. You are a dear friend to so many of us in blog land.
