MY HEART IS ABSOLUTELY BROKEN FOR MY FRIEND GERT~

I was not going to post for a while
but God had other plans in mind for today.

My blogging friend, Gert,
lost her precious husband, Tom, yesterday.
He has left earth for his
HEAVENLY HOME.
This is the picture Gert posted
on her blog last night.
The name of her blog is
Rusty is their dog
who doesn't understand that
Dad is gone.
Late last fall Tom,
got ill and was hospitalized.
He has always been such a strong man~
Everyone thought he would have surgery
and then be okay.
Gert, as many of you know,
has MS and Tom was such a great,
 loving husband, friend,
and earthly caretaker.

Theirs was a marriage of love and devotion
that made others envious.
Sadly, Tom's big, generous heart
quit beating yesterday.
He got so tired
that the Lord took him home.
While he is beyond all
pain and suffering now,
Gert and Rusty are left on their own
to cope with this heartbreaking loss.

PLEASE LIFT
Gert in prayer today
and in the upcoming days.
You can pop by
and leave her a message.
It may help ease her pain just a bit
to know how much she is loved.
Rest In Peace, Tom.
We will see you
OVER THERE!

Thank you all so much.

Tomorrow is the fast for John's health
you can read about that here and here.
Please attach Gert's name to that fast.

Love you Gert!
Love all of YOU blogging friends, too!

  3. Seems God answered Gert's prayers when he gave her Tom. The picture of him at the door both inspired me and broke my heart. One can't help but be a better person after reading her loving post. No better memorial can be said than "He was loved".

  11. Diana, When I saw Gert's post...I cried till I got a headache. I love those two. I wanted Tom to get better and come home to Gert . I pray Gert's family will be helping her. As you said Tom was her care giver, sweet husband. I know when they went anywhere, Tom would pull over or even go back around the block so Gert could get some pretty pictures . I can't believe he's gone. I do know he's in heaven with loved ones who have gone on before him. I know the Lord is with him today. I hold Gert in my prayers. Bless you Diana, xoxo,Susie

  25. Diana, I saw your post on her page right before I hit enter on my own. YOU are the dearest friend to her and your own heart glows throughout that post and every post you make. I, too, broke into tears this morning when I heard the news about Tom. It's always the saddest of news to hear a loved one has passed on. In the beginning of all the grief, it doesn't even seem to matter that it's just a temporary separation and so is ever harder still. Time helps, but we always have to wait for time. I feel buckets for Gert and yet there is nothing anyone can do to make her feel good at this moment. Hopefully she'll continue to blog and then everyone can continue to support her. Whew, what a day. Thank goodness for you.

  30. I was just telling my daughter who is 40 years old that life is harder the older you get because of our loved ones dying.
This is the part of life we all hate when we realize this.
All we can do to ease the pain is have faith in God and know this life is not the end

  32. Loss is not the only thing she has to deal with; planning for the now and future is something she must face when she is not beyond the grief. I pray God will be there to guide her and hold her hand.
