Where Have All The Birdies Gone?

Some of you have

asked me how our

babies are doing?

Looking at this picture-

What is your best guess?

Want a second picture

just to make sure?

How about a few words?

Nana! They'hre GONE!

Whehre did they GO?

Whut?

Someone is headed 

over to sit on the

steps to have a little

cry all by herself.

Another hard life lesson.

Most little birds fly 

the nest at some point

 and we are

NEVER READY....

A One An A Two An A Three Little Dancers And WHAT?

We had a lot of excitement

last weekend.

Yes.We.Did.

Not only did we have a

brand new baby, CJK,

enter the world 

we had a 

DANCE RECITAL.

The 3 little girls

have been taking dance

classes from this sweet

woman since Lulu was 4.

I won't tell you how old

Mrs.D is but lets say

she won't see the upside

of EIGHTY again.

She has been teaching for

about 60 years and is

now teaching the grandkids

of the kids she used to teach.

Something to be said for

doing what you love, huh?

It keeps her young!

Anyway, Saturday night

found us in an auditorium

watching the girls dance.

The babies always go first.

They always steal the show 

and this time was no exception.

SweetCheeks is the 

biggest one in her class.

She is in the 

"babies class"

She is the little

"mother" to them all....

even though she is the same age.

See the monkey?

Her dance was

5 Little Monkeys.

They were ALL little monkeys!

See the kid on the left?

COMPLETELY CLUELESS!

He watched SweetCheeks 

every move

and copied her.

One full step behind, of course.

She started watching him

and grinning.

Then~

She started laughing out loud

watching him.

Everyone else roared.

Lulu's class was the next one up.

They "get it"

and I have to say that she is

has very good stage presence

and performs beautifully.

And our little Ria is 

SO VERY GRACEFUL.

She makes everything

look completely effortless.

We were blessed to see

the first half of the recital

before we headed to the 

hospital for the birth of 

our little CJK.

The true highlight of the

recital?

My daughter, TPot,

(Mom of SweetCheeks)

got up to perform with

some of the other Moms

of the "babies class".

She is front and center

right in the middle~

No surprise there!

The funny thing is...

She looked out to see if 

her Dad (MyHero)

was watching her.....

just like she did when

she was a little kid.

Ummmm...honey?

It's never gonna be

1980 again!

Trust me!

Don't quit your day job,

M'kay?

Princesses In The Playhouse

You know what happens

AFTER 

The Playhouse 

is clean?

It is time to 

MOVE IN

for the Summer months.

That, of course, means

bringing out your 

Summer Wardrobe.

And hanging them in a row.

The hooks are just under

the 

Rose Mirror

(another thrift shop find)

And once the work is done...

the littlest fairy is

off to play...

and joins the other fairies

Where the discussion

leads to 

sugar and spice and

cupcakes are nice...

While they are playing

Nana is sitting by

their little picket fence and 

looking out over the water...

Dreaming of the day when her

grandchildren will have

children of their own.

Can you imagine?

I ALMOST CAN!

But...I don't want to hurry life

so I am just going to enjoy

every moment of life 

TODAY.

Sometimes it is hard to
LIVE TODAY,

isn't it?

It is too easy to get caught up

in all "What Ifs" of

Yesterday...

or project into the

unknown of 

Tomorrow.

Today-

I am going to enjoy

Today because I 

KNOW that 

tomorrow will take care

of itself.

holding her new little cousin.

over to her Daddy,

TheBrawnyMan.

I call him Pretty Boy sometimes.

Shhhhh....

SweetCheeks walks over

and sits on my lap.

Nana?

We Interrupt The Regularly Scheduled Post-

Did you miss me yesterday?

Did you wonder where I was?

Did I mention I had a 

Baby Shower

for my friend's daughter

at noon?

Did I mention we had

an early dinner with my

brother & sister-in-law?

Did I mention that

after dinner we all went

to a 

Dance Recital

for my 3 granddaughters

at 7pm?

Did I mention that

during the dance recital

we got a call and our

little baby grandson,

CJK,

came into the world around

9pm last night-

just a tad early?

(We made it to the hospital

just in time)

Here he is!

Here's his proud Daddy,

MamasBoy,

holding his own little

MamasBoy.

Yep- He's crying!

And here is Papa and MamasBoy.

I think that

second to his wedding day,

this is the happiest day

of his life.

I will get some better

pictures of our new little

grandson, CJK,

later this week.

I didn't want to put my

dil's picture on here

without asking her..but

maybe later we will get one

of the whole family.

She looks beautiful..

and she did a 

GREAT JOB.

What a blessing

a healthy baby boy is.

Playhouse Prettified

When does cleaning

seem like playing?

Never?

Well, if YOU feel that way

then you need a

PLAYHOUSE.

I head off to play work

with the tools of trade.

Mrs.Meyers cleaner-

LOVE IT!

AND my

SHARK STEAM MOP

I seriously LOVE that steam mop.

I mean-LOVE IT!

It does such a good job

of deep cleaning floors.

So...wondering what I got done?

I cleaned the windows.

Can you believe they have

leaded glass windows in the 

PLAYHOUSE?

They do!

We used to own/operate a 

Window/Siding/Door company.

These were some of the

Salesmans' samples.

The perfect size for a playhouse.

I wanted to add that the playhouse
is a good size.
It is about 10' x 12' and
is about 15' at the peak.
There is an upper area inside
that holds a twin sized mattress.
We don't let the kids go up there
yet because of their ages,
but soon they will be old enough
to do that without fear
that they will take a fall.

The rugs are all washed

and the furniture is back 

in place.

Everything in here was found

at a thrift shop.

Child size wicker settee-

was brown- I spray painted it white.

A matching chair...

Brooms and dusters for 

"cleaning"

stand beside the "hutch".

I plan to paint the bottom

to match the top soon.

Here is the sweet little top..

A small wicker table

with a tablecloth my 

Mother embroidered many years ago.

A chandelier to add a bit of bling.

And....the most important part

of it all is coming up here tomorrow.

can stay here cheap!

What Is In The Playhouse Window Box?

Early on I stuck some

faux greenery in the

window boxes of the playhouse

to give it some Spring color.

We can't plant outside 

until around Memorial Day

here for fear of a freeze.

Not likely this year,

but we proceed with caution

anyway.

We are working at planting

some flowers around the 

little white picket fence

and in the window boxes.

We stop short of removing

the fake greenery.

SOMEONE

has made a discovery.

What IS that, 

SweetCheeks?

Look at that face!

Let's get a little closer, shall we?

And, even  closer...

SweetCheeks laughed hysterically.

She thought there was something

wrong with them because they

didn't have feathers and their

mouths took up half their bodies.

She had questions-

Where isss the Mohm?

She's around here somewhere, SweetCheeks.

WHERE?

Well, she is probably out finding

food for her babies.

Whut do thehy eaht?

Worms and bugs.

EWWWW!

Whereh's the Daddy birhd?

He's around somewhere.

Doesn't he help her?

Not much I guess.

Thass how you know he's

the Daddy, right?

Yep...That's right...

(I am laughing out loud by now).

She can't wait for her sisters

to get there to show them

the "baybees".

She fills them in on all the 

particulars.

I think she said the 

DADDY bird was a lot

like a husband....or something

to that effect.

And, here they are a week after

Now, if you promise not

to hide the M&Ms on

everyone else and eat

them all yourself,

tomorrow I will show you

the INSIDE of

THE PLAYHOUSE....

providing I can get

off my butt and get

Mrs.Myers to join
