Now this may be an
OLD TRICK.
It's one I have used for years
It's one I have used for years
but there may be a few of you
that don't know about it.
I love roses...
any color...
and form...
single petal..
ruffled...
cabbage style..
you name it and put
rose in the name of it
and I will love it.
I especially love
WHITE ROSES.
What do you do when the
bloom is off the rose?
Well,
sometimes I dry mine.
After drying they usually look
like this.
And this...
Want to fluff them up and make them purty?
You do?
This does NOT make them look
like fresh roses-
it just opens them so they are not
tightly furled.
HOW?
Well, the answer is as close as
your tea kettle.
Put it on and let it build up steam.
Unfortunately, I don't have
a steaming tea kettle
so I used a measuring cup heated
to boiling in the microwave.
The direct stream of steam
(isn't that a cute play on words...stream of steam)---never mind...
from a tea kettle works
MUCH BETTER.
Hold the flower over the steam
and watch it furl open.
You may have to tease it open with
your fingers but the result
will look like this.
Have to go -
My doorbell is ringing.....
What?
No-No-
You know I wanted white roses.

Anyone want a red rose delivered?
Anyone?
Anyone?
Anyone?

Wait, you don't have a tea kettle, an Anglophile like you? That is scandalous! Forget that red rose, just give me the guy delivering it! LOL!
Diana, How clever. I will try that next time I ever get any roses. Love that big bouquet of white roses. Blessings, xoxo, love, Susie
I had never heard of this. Good to know!
That poor guy in the tux. You had to send him away. Red?? Pffft. If only he had brought white.
Great dip, Diana. I've had that problem so I'll remember this one.
What a clever idea. I have saved and dried roses many times, but never knew you could open then up like that. Thank you for sharing this great way to display them.
I've never heard of that steam trick before!
Thanks for the little tip on roses Diana. I too love roses in red, white, and pink!! Have a wonderful holiday weekend. :)
I did not know this trick - that is amazing - thank you!
I did not know that, Diana. I do have a steaming tea pot, so I will be trying this. Maybe someone will give me roses so I can (or I can buy myself some). Thanks for letting me know.
WOW. I did not know that. I have a steam kettle, so will try it. Thanks for the info. I love yellow roses.
What a great way to freshen those dried roses.
Great tip! Thank you .. does that also help get the dust off? LOL .. looking at my dried roses and I spy dust bunnies on them. ;-)
Oh, I do, I do! That is so interesting about the steam, Diana. You know how much I love the red rose, but like you, I love any color.....and white, Oh Yes!
Enjoy the weekend, dear friend.

Well I didn't know that! Thanks!
Never heard of that....next time I get roses :)
I love roses, any color is fine with me!
wow! I wish I'd known about that sooner. I love to save old roses, but after a while they just go bye bye. And I'd take any color delivered to my door...just probably not ever gonna happen, so I try to grow my own...
Had no idea you could do that!!
I'm not picky! Any color will do. ....But, they make me sneeze
Never heard of that I'll have to try it thanks. Love roses and my favorite are white too! xo
Well that’s an interesting technique! I love roses and pretty much every color except purple!
First you made me laugh my friend, but who knew?! Thank you for this info about roses. I love them too.
Have a wonderful long weekend.

White roses are my favorite. Elegant and simple. Neat trick. I will definitely give that one a try...
Very clever indeed. Now we all know this trick!! Thanks!
Wish I had known this a week ago:) Great idea that I will definitely try...the next time I have any roses:)
Great tip! I don't think I have a tea kettle either.
Brenda
Way cool! Thanks for the great tip!
What a good idea that I will try for sure. I do really love the look of dried roses and I have a big ol' plastic bin full of them. I normally hang them upside down after they droop in the vase...sometimes the whole head will fall off. Thanks for the tip!
That's a clever trick, Diana!
Great idea!!! I love any and all roses!!!
I never knew! Thanks. Wishing you a very nice weekend. I have begun the task of selling all the heavy furniture, china etc. My muscles are aching!
You are just full of wonderful ideas and wit! Thanks for the tip!
Oh I didn't know this! Thank you for sharing...I will (hopefully) remember this trick the next time I have roses. They are my favorite flower but they have to gave fragrance to truly be worthy!
