Big Boy E's Special Day

My daughter, Mimi, has
a spirit of fun and happiness
that she likes to spread around.

She is also a very good Mom
to her two little guys.
She combined her sense of
joy and entertainment
along with her love for her
three year old in a
SPECIAL PARTY.
I don't know of anyone
else that would throw an
 OLYMPICS THEMED
Birthday Party,
complete with games,
timed contests,
and an awards ceremony.
SweetCheeks &  BigBoyE
kicked off the ceremony by
running the "course" with
a special torch!
It was HOT HOT HOT.
So there were lots of
water balloons.
These, of course,
supplied hours of
"surprise entertainment"
to those unsuspecting
souls who were minding
their own business before
getting hit with one of
these well-aimed missiles.
Did I mention it was HOT?!
Really, really HOT!
When it got too hot
Uncle Stev-o entertained
SweetCheeks inside with
a magic board.
After all the contests were
over BigBoyE opened his
presents.
He loved everything!
Hmmmm...looks like he has
a little RED icing on his
face.  I wonder where
he got THAT from....
Looks like he might have been
dipping his finger into the
GREEN THREE, too!

After contests and cake
it was time for the
AWARDS CEREMONY.
Every single person there
got an award for
SOMETHING.
These two got a
special Olympics award
for their own separate
run & jump contest.
As the day wound down
 we headed home,
giving two of the three
girls a ride home.
I stopped at the store to
pick up some milk and
a few grocery items.
I thought a couple of people
in the store gave me
STRANGE LOOKS....
but  I am used to getting
strange looks so didn't think
too much about it...
~until~
I was walking towards the
car and noticed
MyHero and the two girls
laughing hysterically.
I opened the car door.
What's so funny?
They all pointed.
I looked down.
Oh-Yeah-Cute
My Silver Award Medal.
What?
You want to know what I got
the award for?
Well.....
It was for
NOT COMPETING
in a single contest!
oh-shut-up
I TOLD YOU IT WAS HOT!

ps..I am away at the Lake Michigan
shore for 3 days with the 3 little girls.
I will be checking in at night
AFTER you-know-who is
sleeping.

What a fun day. I am wondering whether those Olympics might be better organised than the ones happening here shortly!

What a cute party idea. I always did theme parties for my kids, too. Dinosaurs, Ghostbusters, John Deere, princesses, Ford trucks (that was my DAUGHTER!)....I think the favorite, though was the year my daughter wanted Taco Bell for her party and nothing else would satisfy. I schmoozed up the manager at our local Taco Bell and on party day the hubs and his brother picked up bags and bags of food and even treat bags filled with kids' meal toys. Everyone still talks about the party catered by Taco Bell. LOL

I'm so happy to see you won that special award..
BigBoyE looks as if he had a blast, and I'm sure that SweetCheeks did too.
Love the party theme. We've had lots of cakes with trucks on them, Jd's favorite.

What a fun, fun party! I know this was a happy and exciting day for BigBoyE !As I was reading and before I saw the picture with the medal, I thought you were going to say you had red frosting all over you. LOL Too funny! Don't blame you for sitting in the shade. It sure has been hot!

That's a nice looking medal. Those people in the store were probably just jealous. They could take one look at you and see that you are a winner, and they are not! Hmmmmm..... yep, that's it. Poor guys will probably never get a chance to know what it feels like to win a medal of their own.

FUN! I bet you all sang the Olympic Theme - Da-da-da-da-da-da da... looks like a terrific time. Enjoy your lake trip.

Well, at least it was around your neck and they didn't play pin the tail on the donkey with you....now that would have made everyone look twice when you went by.
I, personally think, you should have taken the gold for sitting on your butt.
It looks like a fun BD party, and I think the cake was melting a bit, too. Oh, this summer has been a hum dinger and we have at least 6 weeks to go!
Have fun with the girls. Got a heat and pollen alert today. Hope more rain comes in.

Thanks for sharing the photos of that fun party! Your daughter put so much thought into every aspect of it. Did you get a water balloon thrown your way?

That is much more original than a jump house or a clown. Why did I think it would be much cooler at Lake Michigan than here in N. Texas? Sounds like a wonderful place to be. Your grandson is adorable.

Your daughter is probably just like her Mother, very creative. You got the kind of award that I would probably get...works for me.
This is a very sweet post and your grandson is really handsome, a real cutie pie!
I am on a brake from throwing stuff out the window upstairs...waiting for it to cool off a little here, yep it is hot here too. Big Hugs, mary

Aw geez, what's the matter with those people - haven't they ever seen a medal for not competing before?!?! Sheesh, even a cat has seen those before. May have even won one or two myself on a very hot day ;)

Sounds like despite the heat, everyone had fun! I would have loved it - water balloons and unsuspecting victims?!?! Oh my whiskers twinge at the mere thought of the entertainment that would provide me. Just saying.

Congrats on your hard earned medal ;)

Purrs,

Looks like lots of fun at the birthday party, Diana. Oh, how I remember those days when the kids were small. We would have some unique parties too. I think one of the most original ones was hiring a pony to let the kids ride on in our neighborhood. The Olympics theme is a cute one. I bet he had such a special day. That cake look delicious.

Hi Diana, I have been doing a little catching up reading tonight. I enjoyed reading your blog. A belated Happy birthday to your hubby and Little E. I didn't realize that your little E has the same first name as my youngest grandson. They call him E-Man. I got a chuckle reading tonight. Water Balloons would there have been some adults involved. Birthday cakes are meant to have fingers stuck in the icing. Have a great day and enjoy your trip. Hugs Your Missouri Friend.

Wow. That party looks like something I'd like to go to. That's my kind of fun. Now, if I could just find some child to do the races for me so I could sit back and eat cake.

What a delightful post. I can just feel the family love. We are going to our great nephew's 1st birthday party Sunday afternoon. . . so I'm looking forward to seeing lots of family. It is always so much fun when we all get together.

Thanks you for stopping by and for your sweet comment on my journal. Hope you're having a fun time at Lake Michigan. I have so many childhood memories of Lake Michigan . . . just the mention of that name makes them all come flooding in.
God Bless, Connie :)

How fun! Happy birthday to your darling little grandson. I remember once when my oldest was about 3 years old and we went to a birthday party. As we were about to walk in she turned to ask me if I thought they would be playing games. I assured her that yes, they would probably have games to play. After a brief pause she said, well do you think that Mrs. R will make sure that everybody is a winner? Haha
I love your silver medal but I think you shouda got the gold!
