FRIDAY THIS & THAT- SECRETS BIG AND LITTLE

Secrets can do us in, right?

There are SOME secrets

I will take to the grave.

Those secrets are in

"THE VAULT"

There were lots of secrets to share

at Disney World with three little girls

planning something.

Only two of there were in on

"the planning"

because

Sweet Cheeks was known to

tell everything she knew

to Nana!

As you can see here,

there are plans afoot.

But maybe if Sweet Cheeks leans in
she can be in on
'THE PLAN'.

NOPE! Not happening.
Most things change over the years, right?
Confidences are shared more freely....
Or....Maybe Not!

Listen....Do you hear it now?

   NOPE!  Some things never change!

The last two pictures are
from our recent vacation.
I will be back next week
with more pictures
of our time there.

Today, I am taking the little VW bug,
putting the top down,
loading in
Thing One & Thing Two
and going to get a Starbucks
and two
Pupacinos
(also known as pup cups).

Have a wonderful weekend.
AND
Please, if you know me,
don't tell anyone any of
MY SECRETS!

Ah this was wonderful Diana - seeing the girls when they were so young and now all grown up! I hope you and the pups had a great time at Starbucks. Have a good weekend. Hugs!

This one made me smile in that quiet, knowing way, especially the idea that some secrets are carefully stored away in a “vault” while others barely survive five minutes of being told.

The Disney World planning part with the three girls feels like such a classic family scene, all the excitement, the plotting, the near-escapes of information slipping out. Sweet Cheeks being the “tell everything to Nana” type is very familiar in the best way. There is always that one little person who simply cannot carry a secret for long, no matter how important it feels in the moment. Do you think she eventually got fully included in the plan, or was she kept guessing right up to the end?

The tone here carries that playful mix of mischief and affection that makes family trips memorable years later. Even the way you described “plans afoot” gives it that old storytelling charm, like something being carefully staged behind the scenes.

The ending with the VW bug and the pup cups is just perfect, very everyday joy wrapped into a tradition. There is something so steady and comforting about those small rituals, especially when shared with “Thing One and Thing Two.” It feels like one of those simple outings that somehow becomes a lasting memory without trying to be anything more than what it is.

There is a nice thread running through this whole post about trust, fun, and the way family stories repeat themselves in different forms over time. Out of curiosity, do you find the “vault” gets fuller over the years, or do some of those secrets eventually turn into stories you can share freely later on?

Those darling girls have grown into beautiful young ladies...and fun ones, too! They definitely have their grandmother's sense of play, remaking those photos. I love it. Did you make those matching outfits for them when they were little? Something tells me you did...and I hope you had a fun ride with your pups! Treats for everyone!! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip! Happy Weekend!! 💕

Ok, I saw your comment over on Kris’ blog about the cottage and I thought, “hmmm, I haven’t seen Diana’s posts in a long time.” Weird. So, now I’m going back through and catching up. Maybe I’ll sign up on a different email.
Can’t believe how grown up the girls are! Hope you all have had a great time.
Hugs, Cecilia
