Now - before I start this I want you to
remember something-
I do NOT SWEAR on my blog-
I just don't.
I don't like to offend anyone
SO-if you are
SO-if you are
EASILY OFFENDED
you might want to move to another blog today.
However,
I think MOST OF YOU will see
the humor in this.
My son was about 3-1/2 and he was standing
outside with the neighbor
(who he called GRUMP-PA for obvious reasons)
when a rescue squad went by.
Apparently, GRUMPpa said-
There goes that damn ambulance.
Apparently, GRUMPpa said-
There goes that damn ambulance.
Here is your
NEW WORD for FRIDAY.
DAMBULANCE!
It is composed of TWO WORDS
Damn & Ambulance.
Mama's Boy thought that was the
REAL NAME of this!
He would say...
Look, Mama!
Here comes the DAMBULANCE!
He was a REAL HIT in church school!
It took us TWO YEARS to convince him
that it was JUST an
AMBULANCE!
So--YOU can choose whether (or not)
you would like
to incorporate this
NEW WORD
into your vocabulary this week.
You all have a great day.
I am going out to try and eradicate some
DAMDELIONS!

LOL, Love it. I can't tell you how many dambulances go by at work every day.
I'm the same on my blog. I keep all the swear words off.
...I work in and among the construction business for many years and swearing quickly became part of my vocabulary. Damn it!!!
Hahaha, very cute!
That is why we have to be so DAMN careful what we say around kids! LOL!
Oh that's funny. Kids always pick up on the things we DON'T want them to pick up, and often avoid the things we DO want them to pick up! Language, manners, clothes on the floor, toys, lol, among others. This was so cute. Our then 2 or 3 yr. old grandson Noah heard his uncle say "stupid". So he thought it was an okay word, and suddenly everything was "stupid", until his parents got tired of hearing it and told him it wasn't really a nice word and they didn't want to hear him saying it anymore. But of course, since he'd heard his Uncle Scott say "stupid", he thought it must be a good word, until he was punished for it. A few weeks later when we talked to our grandson on the phone from their home back in Maine, his Uncle Scott also got on the phone to talk to him, and the first thing he said was, "Uncle Scott, you said "stupid", and that's a naughty word!" Uncle Scott was of course apologetic for saying such a "naughty word", and said later to us that he was glad Noah didn't hear him say some of the other words that he says... Good lesson to learn for all of us!! LOL. This was great, and not stupid at all. LOL.
kids will always pick up on those bad words we don't want them to say. Your post reminds me of several incidents when mine were young, Don't worry about the dandelions they are often the first food the bees get after winter leaves. I know they are a weed but try to think of them as helpful flowers!
What a Good Morning!!! Great sunshine here, a warm breeze kiting an Amazon envelope off the front porch, and prospect of both groceries and an Aldi stroll---now what more Felicity do we need today!!
Your Dandelions so remind me of my dear sweet Paxton, whose fondness and capacity for the little yellow blooms was astounding, as well as a cow's worth of clover as she wandered the cracks of our driveway. I so love dan-DEAL-YUNS in their innocent stealth across the lawn---the yellow making a perfect color-wheel companion to the carpet of sweet little violets across the moss of the shady back lawn.
Don't children fashion our vocabulary in marvelous (and embarrassing) ways!! Once DS 2 was practicing his reading aloud with a little story, and halted mid-sentence with, "Mama---What's DEETER-mined? I don't know that one." His own child is graduating from high school this month, and that's STILL in our Family Vocab----we'll just call out each other with "Well, if you're just DEETER-Mined to do that---." Feel free to use at will.
And Happy, Happy Mothers' DAY!!! I can feel the Love that must pour down on you. Hugs from the Heartland.
That's precious!

This is so cute! And about damn, I kind of don't even consider it a swear word, as there are so many others that are much, much worse! It is very mild.
Too funny - my nieces call their grandfather Grumpa, who isn't but that is just how they pronounced it, lol. Secondly, my baby brother, who my mom had when I was 15 (my folks tried for 5 yrs to have that third baby and were so hoping for a boy) and I was pretty much given total responsibility for him (my mom had terrible birth with him, etc). When I hit driving age at 16, I would take him to Friendlys or Perkins with me where I had friends work on a Sat morning and he'd see the delivery trucks go by the windows (we would go VERY early) and yell out "Dawny, Dawny... ####, ####, look look. He couldn't pronounce Truck...it came out a very bad word and let me tell you the people in the restaurants would lose it when he did that, luckily understanding the 'cuteness' and not the vulgarness of it... But I always held my control and tried not to dive under a table in embarrassment !!! Oh, the memories..... Dawn P. Albany, GA
That is so funny!
LOL - that is funny. Kids say the darndest things.
Remember the old Art Linkletter show "kids say the darndest things" . . . Yes they do!
That gave me a chuckle! I don't think ambulances deserve damnation but I am certainly with you on damndelions. I will put that in my dictionary for sure!
That's cute. That age they do pick up things like sponges. I can't see anyone getting offended by that. My goodness. Thanks for sharing a sweet memory.
Adorable! I think those kid invented compound words are the best! Happy Mother's Day my friend!!
This is too funny! I've always liked it when people combine two words, some are very clever!
I just just telling my husband I wish dandelions weren't frowned upon. They are such a vibrant color and the way they transform into a puff is as miraculous as a caterpillar into a butterfly. But, they're considered a weed so like you, I walk around and pick the flowers, or grab those puffs before they can reseed the entire yard! :) Happy Mother's Day!
Don't you love the things people come up with -- and those little ears hear it all!
Good Morning, You always make me smile!! May you have a wonderful weekend! Hugs, Roxy
Happy Mother's Day tomorrow!!! I'll spend mine with my youngest, DOL and Grandson. XX
Very cute, I love it. :)
Oh that was a dambulance good post. Remembering Art Linkletter and Kids say the darnest things.
That is such a funny story. We certainly do have to watch all that we say to children and around children.
So cute. Kids say the craziest things!!
Kids do pick up just about everything they hear, don't they? :)
Dandelions are edible plants; one of the ethnic stores in my area sells dandelion leaves in bundles, just like spinach.
Happy Mother's Day to you, Diana.
I thought I'd commented here ... but it seems not!
Reading it certainly made me chuckle :)
Happy Sunday and Happy Mothers Day wishes.
All the best Jan
Ha Ha!
How did the eradication of the damdelions go?
I hope you had a blessed Mother's Day my dear.
xo
I'm laughing hard! xoxo Dolly
It is just hilarious how kids interpret things that are told to them! We don't realize how the little things become big things in their eyes! That is a funny story, thank you for the chuckle today!
