FRIDAY THIS AND THAT- MY INNER GYPSY IS CALLING

While my inner soul
craves the open road,
my heart keeps me tied in the spot
I call home.

If I did not have these
HOME TIES,
you might find me living the life of
A ROMANTIC GYPSY.

Spring always makes me long to roam.
There were nomads in our family line.
Good Irish chaps.
Men that traveled
to set up new towns
and,
once the towns were established,
they would move on to
build another settlement.

I think I inherited some of that trait...
that longing for the road.
While I LOVE my home,
I sometimes long
to pack my bags and
travel the highways and byways
of our beautiful country..
Spring and Fall both find me restless...
calling my name to  explore
the lesser known roads of life.

IF I could pack up and travel I might
choose something like this.
I could see myself parking this
in a quiet spot in the foothills,
brewing a pot of coffee,
listening to classical music and
reading a good book.
Idyllic, yes?
This bit of retro travel heaven
would work just fine for me, too.
After a long idyllic drive
through the countryside
I could crawl into this bed
with a happy heart.
Could you?

Maybe it's because we haven't
been able to travel
 much since hubby
has had health issues.

 Maybe that is what makes
the open road
call my name.
Maybe it is because my soul is restless.
~or~
Maybe it is because I feel winter weary
and I am anxious for
Soft Summer Winds.

How about you?
Any other souls out there
that want to
harness your inner
GYPSY?

Happy Friday.
Maybe I'll just take a
little trip---

Oh, If could have a camper like one of those, I just might do it! Really nice...maybe a bit TOO nice! LOL. I'm more of a rustic kind of person, but that last one with the shabby chic look it really sweet. Wouldn't mind parking it in my yard and just retreating there when I want to "get away". LOL. Sometimes we have to do our traveling from our desk chairs in front of the computer or on YouTube TV. It's cheaper that way...LOL. Praying all is well with you and your dear hubby. Maybe just a country ride would do...

Since this is all fantasy, I'll opt for the old-fashioned gypsy caravan pulled by a big draft horse. But it would be a modern gypsy caravan with a bathroom and shower, hahahahaha! Oh, and air conditioning.

I love them all! My upstairs craft room is called "the Sea Gypsies Nest"!

I'm longing for a little trip. It has been too long. So far, I've been staying close to home because of Lizzie but soon it will be cottage time and she can come along!

I used to love it when we went camping. Getting away from home meant getting away from work and the telephone. Those were the days before mobile phones. Now I'd probably have my phone with me in case of emergencies, I do get away a couple times a year. I visit my son in Florida in the winter and my family in Ohio in the summer. A little trip is good for the body and soul. Hope you get out for that ice cream!
