FRIDAYS THIS & THAT- FOR A SNOWY JANUARY DAY

I promised a bit of this and that, right?
I wrote this a
while back for a
Gardening Group
that I used to belong to
and thought I would share it here.

It looks like
January
to me!
The spruce stands in full glory,
A pretty sight to see.
As daybreak catches glimpses,
Of the snow upon this tree.

He lifts his boughs to Heaven,
To give glory and full praise.
He stands in solid tribute,
To the Maker all his days.

He shelters every bird's nest,
He guards it; standing green.
And he beckons to the bunnies
As they hide & remain unseen.

He will stand there oh-so-proudly,
If we will let him grow.
For he's living just as we are
And this is what I know.

A man with all his knowledge,
Cannot create a tree.
He can only guard & keep it,
For the gift of life is free.

Lovely image and poem. Mammos are no fun but smart. For fortunately, they don't take too long! I'm sure it will be fine.

I love your poem about the Spruce, as I am surrounded by them up here in the mountains. And they look even prettier with a little snow gracing them. Is this one in your yard? I enjoyed every word of your poem, Diana. I remember you writing poems from time to time. And I love how they rhyme. Some of the poetry today is a bit different, not my style. But yours are delightful.

Yours ARE delightful, but how could they not be? Your lovely sense of style and rhythm and language are lovely. And your imagination is so charmingly expressed---what a lovely description of that valiant, sharing Spruce springs from such a giving heart. Mr. Kilmer is beaming.

Such a lovely poem on a beautiful tree. Really nice. I need the schedule a mammogram for March. I had to wait at least 6 mos, after I had the cardiac loop recorder put in my chest. I'm not looking forward to this and hope the technicians know how to do it, without pressing on the device.
I'm glad you're back to blogging.

love the poem but how do you know its a HE and not a She? although now that I think of it there are male and female trees, ok just stopped to check , spruce are monoecious and gave male and female parts and some cones are male and some are female. Sorry, my mind always leads me from one thought to another. its a lovely poem about a lovely tree and it needs no decorations at all

Lovely poem! I'm glad you've scheduled your mammogram. They are so important! My cancer was detected during one such routine screening; that was 10 years ago.
