HAPPY VETERANS DAY-2O22

 GOOD MORNING!

I am ashamed to say

that I don't

always think about what the cost

is for my freedom.

I don't always think about

the person that laid

down their life so that

I can enjoy the freedoms

this country allows.

I don't always think about

the day-to-day struggles that

some of our veterans must deal with...

the physical, emotional, spiritual end

of it.

I do think about my Father,

a vet of WWI (yes-WWI)-

He was a young man in the service

and an old man when I was born (53).

I do think about my Uncle Samuel,

that fought in the Korean War~

but I don't ever remember him

mentioning it.

I do think about my foster brother, Gene,

that was part of the Vietnam war years...

the war that wasn't a war,

or so they say.

I do think about my nephew, Scott,

that suffered permanent damage

when he was fired on as

he guarded one of

Sadam's palaces.

He paid the ultimate price with his life

after several years of treatment.

And, I do think about a man

that has a blog..

A man that I met in my blog travels...

you know when you hit that

Next Blog button on the top..

This is a man that gave it all

for his country...

and is now but a shadow

of his former self, on the outside..

Inside- he is a fighter of the

greatest magnitude.

I have a soft spot for

Kurt The Krippled Warrior.

He lives a hard life but asks

for no pity or sympathy.

I also think about my

old classmate, Tom,

that was a chief petty officer

in the Navy.

I haven't seen him in years but

I remember his infectious laugh.

I am sure he kept his

Navy friends laughing

with his wit and humor.

The only picture I could find of him

(along with his lovely wife)

Today, I raise a salute

to EVERY man or woman

that fights (or has fought) for all of us.

God Bless Our Veterans

and those that are serving

our country today.

Without them- we have no hope

for freedom.

God bless you all.

Will be back soon with the

This is such a beautiful tribute, Diana! We owe them such a debt; and yes. I'm chagrined to admit it takes dates like Veterans and Memorial Days to fully realize the debt. Thinking I may have to watch Saving Private Ryan again.

I like Veterans Day because it is exclusively for the living ... so that we can thank them for their service. My son passed his final test/checkride yesterday and is an official USAF KC-135 Stratotanker pilot. These men and women who serve are the true American heroes amongst us. xoxo

When I check into a VA hospital and see the shattered lives of YOUNG men, so many lost limbs from the past middle east 'conflicts'. An enemy that knows that maiming is worse than killing, as far as combat goes.
I honor all the Vets. They all made a vow to protect this country; They have, and THIS COUNTRY IS GREAT AND FREE. because of men and women who hold up their right hand and swear allegiance to the USA.
Amazing your dad was a WWI vet. WOW.My dad was too young to go...
Love you and appreciate the words in support of all Vets.

My dad sounds like your dad, a young man in WWII and almost 50 when I was born. Sadly he passed by the time I was 12 and long before I was interested in asking about the war. So recently, I've been online trying to track down information on his service and it's been very interesting. xxoo

This is a lovely post, Diana. I am the daughter and sister of vets, and I used to be the wife and daughter-in-law of vets. Their service has always been an important part of my life.

Love,
Janie

This was very special. Thank you for this tribute to those who have given so much for our freedom. We do seem to take that for granted, and then when we hear about those who have sacrificed so much it really is humbling. Thank you for sharing this.

Heartfelt thanks to all of those veterans in your life, Diana. I think we all see a little more clearly now how the freedoms we take for granted can be gone in the blink of an eye. God bless those who have served on our behalf, and those serving now and in the future.

A beautiful tribute Diana. I think most of us do not think about the ones who fought for our country. Family and friends, yes. So many are not thanked and it is sad. Bless all who have served for our country. xoxo

A lovely post, Diana. My step-father's father and uncle both served in WWI; one brother made it home alive, the other gave his life in service.

True life changing story of COPD.
My father was a smoker for forty years. He started when he was a teenager in high school in the early 1950s, and continued to smoke about a pack a day until he quit in 1995. For years he thought "You know? 1 smoked for forty years, and I got away with it !" No. No he didn't. In 2014, nineteen years after he had quit smoking, he started noticing that he was having trouble with wheezing and feeling like he was out of breath a lot. He was diagnosed with early stage COPD. For the first year, he was able to get by with simply using rescue inhalers once in a while, but by late 2015 he needed supplemental oxygen. At first, he could get by on the lowest tank setting of 1 liter per minute, but as time went on he needed an Oxygen concentrator at home and he needed more and more oxygen. Last year (2020) he was up to the oxygen concentrator's highest setting of 5 liters per minute, even while just sitting down. By this time I had moved in with him to take care of him. Sometimes he would be gasping for air, and he would ask me "Son, is the machine on? I just can't get enough air" his condition worsened, our hearts melted every moment as we watched him gasp for breath,we were sure he would die any moment, by the time I started reading YouTube comments,I stumbled upon a comment that said there is an traditional herbal doctor called Dr Itua Herbal Center man that cures this ailment and other human diseases,I quickly contacted him and ordered the herbs with my father's money because he wouldn't need it anymore cos he would die any moment,I received the herbs in two days and from that moment he used the herbs, he began to feel better and better, few weeks later, he was completely cured, I thank you for reading this story about my father's experience with COPD. If you know someone who is a smoker, and you love them, please encourage them to quit. We love Daddy.all thanks to Dr Itua.
if you have this ailment or have other ailments like..Alzheimer's,Cancer,Parkinson,Hiv,Herpes,Hpv,Kidney disease,Diabetes,Hepatitis,, email Dr Itua Herbal Center on
