Sometimes when the grandgirls are here
I just sit and listen without them realizing it.
Those are often the best conversations of all.
Last weekend, SweetCheeks & Ria were
sitting together.
.They usually get along quite well-
not a lot of spits and spats between them.
SCheeks: Ria, will you rub my feet? (sweetly)
Ria: Yeah, SweetCheeks. Okay.
SCheeks: Oh- That feels SO good, Ria!
Ria:(putting her feet up) Will you rub mine, too?
SCheeks: (adamantly)
NO! I HATE touching feet.
Ria stops rubbing.
SCheeks: (begging)
Ria! PULHLEASE rub my feet?
Ria: (starts rubbing her feet again)
Ria: Okay- but SweetCheeks you HAVE to rub my feet, too.
SCheeks (half crying) Ria- I TOLD you I HATE touching feet.
Ria: Fine! I am NOT rubbing your feet then. You can rub your own feet.
SCheeks: (tearing up now)
Ria- I CAN'T rub my own feet.
Ria: Why NOT?
SCheeks: I TOLD YOU- I DON'T LIKE TOUCHING FEET!
I am in the corner laughing myself silly.
SCheeks not knowing calls out:
Nana! Can you make Ria rub my feet for me?
Me: No, SweetCheeks, I can't~
SCheeks: Fine! I didn't want her to rub them anyways!
As you can see-they still love each other!
At least ONE of them does!
Sound anything like YOUR house?
Tomorrow is the first day of May-
Hooray! Hooray!
I may have something special to show you...

I am with SweetCheeks on this one, I hate touching feet, although I can just about tolerate my own!
Foot rubs, so soothing, but not so much for SweetCheeks, I understand!! Oh those cute girls! Diana, I can't believe it's going to be May, wasn't it just Christmas???
So funny! The only good thing about carpooling is when I shut up and listen to what comes out of my sons and their friends mouths. Lately, these teens are smartening up and not talking too much around me but when they were little, it was priceless what they would say.
That's a good one ! :)
Kids say the darndest things....LOL. I get so jealous when my son in law rub's Jessica's feet. Kev won't look at feet, much less touch them!
The best entertainment in the world.
LOL - so cute! One of our 5 year old twin grandsons is into the "that's not fair" phase. When mommy told him that brother is a minute older than he is, she got that response too.....guess we can't win! When 3 year old Bree is thirsty, she says she is "drinky." Now that one makes sense!
But I love just listening in on the kids like you do! Sometimes it's hard to keep a straight face!
tha'ts the sweetest bickering I have hear in a long time,
Cute!! Love listening to the little ones. Have a great day!
Haha! What a character that Sweet Cheeks is!
Love your stories…too cute!
That is just too funny! And I can sympathize with Sweet Cheeks because I, too hate touching feet. Yuck! But then, I don't like mine rubbed, either, so maybe it's okay.
ha! i'm with sweet cheeks:)
Hehe!
I have a teen and two tweens, there's never a peaceful moment in my house. I kid you not.xoKathleen
Too funny! I hate touching other peoples feet too so I'm with SweetCheeks!
Those girls are precious!!
They are truly "grandgirls!" Cute, cute story! xo Nellie
Having had two girls, I can TOTALLY relate to that story! LOL So, so cute!!! The story and the beautiful girls!
Donna
How fun the kids are!
Well don't send her down here for foot rubs, because I hate touching feet too. Don't even get me started about cutting someone elses toenails. Yuck!
Sweet Granddaughters there, I have all grandsons, 7 of them and they love to have their back rubbed LOL from Grandma
What will do scheek do when it's time for pedicures and pretty painted toenails ? LOL
Those "overheard" conversations are always the best!
One day I will have grandchildren to eavesdrop on!
LOL - I like it but I don't wanna do it!!! :))
OMG - this conversation went on weekly in my house when I was growing up LMHO - except I always promised my Brother I WOULD rub his feet and then I'd retract the promise after mine were rubbed - it's just too funny reading this Diana LOL
XOXO
p.s. I KNEW Sweet Cheeks reminded me of someone - It's Me !!!!!!!!!!!!
You're so right...the best conversations are when they don't know you're listening! This was so cute! My oldest son can't stand feet either. He doesn't even want to look at someone getting a foot massage. Sometimes when we're sitting on the couch together, I'll "accidentally" let my foot graze his leg...he goes crazy! It's too funny!
Haha! Kids are so funny!
She should tell her sister to put on clean socks first, then she'll rub them! I'm with her and feet.
Guess you have all your bases covered with May. Ha! Do I have anything going on like this at my house? Every day between three and five. Looking forward to it. =D
They are hilarious!
Not sure I have ever had someone rub my feet...but it sure does sound comforting. But I am with Sweet Cheeks....not sure I could rub, even my husbands feet, I am not a rubbing kind of person.....hahahaha this is a funny comment!!!
They are so funny. Aren't their conversations just hilarious!
Judy
Oh, a foot rub sounds good to me. Is Ria available?
Happy first of May!
LOL!!! My house everyday!!!
Oh my gosh, Diana, those two are just hysterical! Let me guess, SweetCheeks won't become a massage therapist or a pedicurist when she grows up, will she??
Diana how funny. I love to get a foot rub too but I am with Sweet cheeks I do not like to touch feet either. The two of them together how sweet. Don't you just love sweet and natural moments like theirs. Loved this post.
Kris
Diana, they are just too adorable! Have a nice evening!
Julie
Hmmm....sounds like me and Magoo at bedtime. He's a non foot rubber like Sweet Cheeks!
Hi Diana, this is too funny and so sweet at the same time. I agree with SC. I could never be a pedicurist! LOL This was my house many years ago when all the cousins would gather!! But when my son was a little guy about 3 years old, he would give me a foot rub when I came home from work!! LOL He is going to make a great husband!!
Blessings XO
Girls are so sweet and so logical too. They'll always be close sisters. How nice it will be as they grow up together. Enjoy your evening my friend! Hugs!
I'm smiling at this conversation thinking of similar ones with my two very very different aged daughters. Hugs!
Oh Diana.... You have no idea! (Well, maybe you do) Ha! YES, this is like my house every day with my three boys..... They keep it lively to say the least. I do find myself giggling often to keep from crying... Well, not crying all the time, but it can also get intense with three boys!
I hope you enjoy your first day of May..... It's been cold and windy here for the past week. I'm ready for a warm up.
Hugs to you, sweet friend!
Amy
I love listening when I am chauffeuring my son's friends around. I think they forget I'm in the car.
How funny - kids..... So if SC doesn't like touching feet. Get a golf ball and place it on the floor and have her put her foot on the top and roll is around - feels wonderful and she doesn't have to touch her feet. Also works good for back rubs, just roll it on your shoulders and back. Of course on the back you have to have someone do it for you.
Never a dull moment with the grands.
Mary
Haha! I didn't expect her last response. Sweethearts, both of them!
Listening to kiddos talk is just precious! I get 2 of mine tomorrow :)
So adorable! It reminds me of my daughter and her cousin when they were around that age. xoxo
Oh goodness at the spits and spats that go on at this house! I have an 18 year old daughter and a 12 year old daughter (who's going on 18) living in the same room... it's DRAMA most of the time. That will change soon, my oldest son is moving out Sunday and the girls will be separated. Praise God!!! SweetCheeks has "that look" that I see often ;)
Oh my, just darling! lol xoxo Jen
