Happy Anniversary To My Daughter, Mimi & Her Hubby

As you know, if you follow along,
I am on the road this week.
Hubby and I are taking a much needed break.
So, because I am not home to do this in person
I would love it if you would leave a
Happy Anniversary Wish here
for my daughter,
Mimi & her hubby, Big J.
I have limited pictures on this computer but
here they are on their wedding day.
My father would have loved her and
he would have said she looks like
An Irish Roadmap.

They have been blessed with
two darling boys
Big Boy E
And Charles In Charge-
And-
They have a third one on the way!
 Happy Anniversary kids-
I love you to the moon and back.

I will visit as a can this week-
I have sporadic internet here.
BUT I have a fun post for you
tomorrow!
You're gonna love it! (I think)

Please Pray For The People In Colorado

Please take a moment today
and offer up a prayer for
the people in Colorado.
There are many blogging friends that live there.
They have airlifted more people
than they did during Hurricane Katrina.
There are many, many people missing.
Please pray for their safety..
Water rushes where a bridge collapsed in a flash flood in Lyons, on September 13.
Brother and sister Patrick Tinsley and Mary Kerns head to Boulder from the mountain community of Magnolia, Colorado, on September 13.
Unbelievable.  It could be any one of us.

I am on the road today but
I will try to check in tonight.
Thanks for praying for our friends.

Continuing With The MOP HEADS Storyline

Well, yesterday we talked about
MOP HEAD HYDRANGEAS.
Today we are talking about a
different kind of
MOP HEAD.
The mop of hair on
THIS HEAD.
Do you see what is perched on the
mop head here?
It's THIS!
A few months ago I posted a prayer request
for  sweet little baby.Natalie.
The request came from

Much to my surprise Angelina sent me
two of these lovely pieces-one a pin
and one a barrette.
The barrette promptly became
the property of SweetCheeks.
She wears it everywhere.
And-as you can tell she is thoroughly impressed when
big sister, Ria, tells her how cute she looks.
As for MY OWN MOP?
It looks like this!
I think every woman needs a pink mop,
don't you?
(you can buy one here)
Don't use it today, however,
because we all KNOW that Sunday
is a day of rest
unless you are a woman when there
is even more work for you because
no one else in the house does
anything on Sunday.
Happy Sunday Folks!

HELLo Hotel It's Friday The Thirteenth

You can't scare me anymore
with your 13 steps!

I came home the back way from
my daughter's house in Milwaukee yesterday.
County Road R winds through some
pretty gorgeous Wisconsin hills
between Manitowoc and Green Bay.

One of the most photographed sights
is the old Maribel Caves Hotel.
Before that there was another old hotel and
people used to go to be cleansed and healed
by the sweet spring waters that flowed there.

Here is the only picture I could find of
The Maribel Caves Hotel
when it was still in use.
It has always kind of fascinated me.
It was built in 1900 and
supposedly visited by Al Capone.
It went up in flames in the 1920's,
was rebuilt  and burned again in the 1960's.
It was reported to be haunted and
singing could be heard
along with sightings of  a child
dressed in white.
When there was a new moon it "glowed".
The floors have been gone for several years
and this is what it looked like from the first time
I ever saw it.
This was considered to be haunted
and was often called Hotel Hell because of the
red stains on the walls of the cellar
and there were accounts of moans
and cold spots when it felt as if you
were brushed by cold hands.

There used to be doors from the basement
that went into the Maribel Caves,
some of which were located below the hotel.

This place has scared generations of kids
that would go there at night.
Including my son who swore he heard
"something" in the old stables.

We had had some bad storms in the last few weeks.
Bad storms with high winds.
Sadly, when I went by this time,
here is what I saw.
Gone- All Gone-
Only the door facade stands intact.
No one will walk those haunted halls again.
No more reason to be scared.
Or is there?
This is what you see just down the road.
Camping anyone?
I've got a camper you can rent cheap!

BUTTTTTTT And BUTTING Heads And BUTT HEAD

You have no idea what this post is about
do you?
You stopped in because the word BUTT
caught your eye.

I am going to give you three great examples
of the use of the word BUT /BUTT.

The other night when the kids were
all playing out in the kiddie pool my son
decided to give our sweet boy
CJK a little bath to clean him off.
BUT he ATE the soap!
To say his Daddy, my son,
freaked out would be an understatement.

Now as to the BUTTING HEADS.

SweetCheeks has a new joke she played on Papa.
SCheeks::  Papa- PUT YOUR PANTS ON!
Papa:  What are you talking about, SweetCheeks?
I HAVE my pants on.
SCheeks:  Oh-never mind-that's your face!
snicker-snort- trying not to let her see me laugh
(I fail miserably-every time)

And as to BUTT HEAD?
Well, THAT would be ME!
I am in a hurry
(what else is new).
I  grab my toothbrush and put a line of
toothpaste on it.
I start brushing and spit.
My teeth feel GREASY!
WHAT? I now start talking to myself.
Well, BUTT HEAD...
look what ARE you using?
I glance down and see two
RED tubes.
Yeah....Let's just put it this way.
There is NO DIAPER RASH
on my tongue.

I'd tell you to have a great day....But..........

A Bit Of Sass From Sweet Cheeks- Short and Sweet

I go to meet the girls in my favorite place,
STARBUCKS.

The girls have beat me there and already
have their drinks in hands.

Me:  Hey-Sweet Cheeks-
That's a cute shirt.
Let me see it!
Me:  Back up a little bit-you're too close-
my camera won't even focus.

SCheeks:  How's this?
Me: Back up a little bit more
so I can READ it!
Me:That is SO true, SweetCheeks!
Girls CAN change the world.
Even I can change the world!
SweetCheeks: No you can't, Nana!
Me:Why not?
SCheeks:  Cuz you are NOT a girl-
 GIRLS are really smart.
AND YOU
 are OLD and a Nana.
Me:  Oh, Yeah?
Note: She's still smiling
Me:  Guess what, SweetCheeks?
SCheeks:  What?
Me:  At least I'm smart enough to pick
the cup with MY OWN name on it!

SCheeks....Pfffffffffftttttt

Painting A French Phone-Yes I Did

The joke in our family is that if you
stand still long enough you will probably
get spray painted.
As you know-in the past I painted a
TV set here.

TVs? Telephones?
No problem!
Both begin with a T, right?
IF I can paint a TV I can most certainly
paint a TELEPHONE.
See?

Want to see more, do you?

My friend, Ruthie, was donating the phone..
I said...Whoa Baby-
This will be perfect for Lulu's
Paris Themed Bedroom.
You cam see more of that here

It had been stored for a long while
and had yellowed considerably and
was a bit the worse for wear.
Not so pretty there, huh?
I took apart the section that held the numbers
and decided to leave the gold plate that
surrounded the letters.
The gold ring just popped off.
I covered the number with stickers to keep the paint off them.
It was a nice day so I set up outside
because I never spray paint in the garage
I am SUCH a liar
It took 2 light coats of Cream Satin paint.
Look how cute it turned out!
I think Lulu is going to LOVE it, don't you?
If I can part with it!
If she doesn't see this post it's MINE!
oh-yeah- it works...
too bad her parents won't let her have a
 PHONE IN HER ROOM!
It'll look cute just sitting there anyway,
won't it?

You've Picked Your Seat Now Come To Dinner

Now-I hate to tell you this but you all are
SUCH a bunch of Wishy-Washies!
Yesterday I gave you seven choices
of table settings
and several of you gave me 2 or 3 votes
AND
 ONE of you,
who shall remain nameless
JANE/Blondies Journal
liked FIVE of them!

But, when I finished
tallying up the numbers
two of the tables were neck to neck
with Table #7 having just an extra two votes.
I guess the Neutrals have it!
HOWEVER,
 for all you color lovers....
Table #3 was not far behind
with only FOUR less votes than #1!
The other votes were divided almost equally.
Wish I could have everyone that voted
over for dinner.
Wouldn't THAT be fun?
You can sit right next to me.
What? Why YOU?
Well, what's that old saying?
If you don't have anything nice to
say about someone come sit by me!;>)

Now for even MORE fun come by
tomorrow and I will show
you how I painted a
French style telephone!
Yes.I.Did.
