A POEM I WROTE FOR THE FOURTH OF JULY-

Happy Fourth Of July!
She's a grand old flag,
She has passed the test.
She has stood strong,
Guarded by the best.

The best of the best,
Have served her well,
From the mountain of Victory
To the pit of Hell.

Our soldiers have banded
One and all.
To fight for our freedom,
When they heard the call.

 I thank you soldiers,
Each and every one,
From father, mother & brother,
To daughter and son.

You have given yourselves,
That we might be free.
A big "thank you so much"
from my family and me.

God bless you all,
Happy Fourth Of July.
Remember our freedom
Caused someone to die.

Raise up the families
Of those that are gone,
And pray for their peace
Until they all come home.
Blessings-

JUST POPPING IN TO SAY:
I hope your year is blessed and beautiful.

I pray for happiness and good health

for all of us and for our families.

Back with some

FUN on Wednesday morning!

Hope none of you are nursing a hangover.

Hmmm....does that
CREATE A PICTURE
in your mind?

Nursing a hangover?

Someone a bit more tech savvy

could have made that look real...

but I am just the 'idea woman'....

LOL-Never said I was good at photo alteration.

Have a GREAT NEW YEARS DAY---2018!!!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!!

It is a day for celebration

for most of us.

We wave our flags

and grill our burgers

and wolf down our hot dogs.

We stand in line for dripping

ice cream cones

and we stare at the sky

in awe as fireworks

feed us a feast for our eyes.

We are free.

What a blessing to be free.

But that freedom comes at a cost.

A big cost.

I see it every day I work at the VA.

I see the sacrifices made

 by men and women

to ensure our freedom.

So, take just a moment today

and whisper a

THANK YOU

to all those that fought for us

on this, and foreign, land.

Wing a prayer up

for those families left behind

when their sons and daughters,

husbands and wives,

mothers and fathers

gave their lives for all of us.

Say a prayer, too,

for all those who served

and whose lives are forever altered.

Prayers, too, for those in

ACTIVE SERVICE.

I am so in debt to all of you!

I will leave you with one of my

very favorite photos

of SweetCheeks.

This was taken on our dock

about 5 years ago when the

fireworks were

bursting in the air over the bay.

THAT is

WONDER & AWE

I hope I never lose that

WONDER & AWE

and I hope I never lose

my appreciation for this

GREAT COUNTRY.

GOD BLESS THE USA!

Papa Gives The Princess Advice

MyHero loves giving advice
to everyone.
Most nod their heads and say
"uh-huh--uh-huh"
But when he gave
Baby Bright Eyes advice?
 THIS is her response!
She listens about as good as I do!

No time for a longer post this morning.
I had a house full of people since last Thursday
and some are leaving today.
And now----
I am off to the VA for 6:00AM

I will be back tomorrow with some pictures
of the back yard and other work
I got done before the
Fourth of July holiday
AND
ONE PICTURE TOMORROW
will give you a
BIG BELLY LAUGH...
a spurt-your-coffee-out-your-nose kind of laugh!

Have a great day!
I will be around to visit when I get home.

Happy New Year-2015 & A Health Update

Thank you!  Thank you!
THANK YOU!

I just wanted to let you know that
I am still above ground!

Thanks to all of you that have reached out
and left me comments.
Thanks, too, to each and everyone that sent me
emails that tell me that you are
praying for a speedy recovery for me.
You all are
THE BEST!
Seriously!
Who knew that bloggers could, and would,
care so much about each other?

I am sorry that I seldom responded to
your comments and emails.
I have been dozing off and on
and watching old movies.
I can't even read because it is hard
to cough and read at the same time.
It is NOT CUTE!

They ran blood tests and lung scans
yesterday.
I only hope everyone has a doctor
that is as good as the one I have.
She leaves no stone unturned.
I will continue on another
round of treatment
for two more weeks.

I have some new, stronger meds
that I hope will nip this
thing in the bud.

I cannot believe how long this is hanging on.
I started coughing on
December 7th at a concert
and have not stopped coughing since.

I have missed the parties
and all the Holiday preparations
that  I so  love~
but I did
CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS
with my family.
I hope to post a few pictures soon.
Let's hope that happens before
the 4th of July-
which will be here before we know it.

So that is the update and
with that being said~
I just wanted to wish you a
BLESSED & WONDERFUL
NEW YEAR!

I pray for
HEALTH
HAPPINESS
&
LOVE
for you and your families in the upcoming year,

And, lest you think I lost my sense of humor
I have been thinking a lot about
aging another year.
I have decided it might not be too bad after all!
Bet that doesn't surprise you in the least.

I will be back soon!

Happy Labor Day!

Just popping in to tell you I am still
above ground
and to wish you and your families
A
I have the grandgirls here.
Tomorrow they start school
and I am left wondering
WHERE DID SUMMER GO?

I will be back to blogging regularly
in a few days....
pinky promise.

I just need to catch up on all the things
I DIDN'T get done on my
"Summer Vacation".

Thank you to all of you ~

that stuck with me-
and wrote to me-
and cheered me on-
and sighed and/or cried with me.
It has been quite a summer!

See you shortly..
well, I am NOT short...
but you know what I mean!

And here, of course, is what
MyHero is doing for
Labor Day!
Pulling what hair he has left
OUT
because I MIGHT have asked
him to do me one little favor....
or maybe it was two...
or it might have been three...

I say..
Labor Day means
YOU WORK
and I rest-
for a change
Amen!

HAPPY, SAPPY, NAPPY AND LOVEY THE BABY- Father's Day Weekend

It was quite a weekend!
I went to Fleet Farm on Saturday with my son and

HAPPY

A few hours later
SAPPY
came in from the playhouse looking like this...
We tired poor little
NAPPY
right out!
And- Oh- Yeah!!!
Love the baby,
Love the baby.
Love the baby!
3 months & 3 days old.
I think she looks like the
Gerber baby-
but then I am a little biased!

Have a great Monday.
I have a couple of projects I am working
on to show you this week.

A Wee Bit 'O Spring In The Front Hall

I was so busy yesterday with some
projects that I almost forgot to take
pictures for a post this morning.
But, never fear, I can always
come up with something.

So-here you have it-
SOMETHING!
Something Springy and lovely
in the front hall.
Sorry- I  know it is a tad out of focus-
Kind of like my eyes in the morning.

The bottom has an Irish greeting
for St. Patrick's Day.
Overall, it looks like this.
~Erin Go Bragh~
I am adding this after someone
commented they had to look it up.
You know what THAT means
 someone that is
NOT IRISH reads my blog!!
Whoo Hooo
Anyway-
Erin Go Bragh means
Ireland Forever
MyHero said he thinks it looks like a
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENT

I told him THAT COULD BE arranged!.
And YOU know what I mean by that!

Fall Gardens And Family Faces And MyHero Goes Flying

I took a few days off from blogging
over the Labor Day weekend.
I was going to rest and enjoy
some Green Bay gardens.
However, I was not idle.
We did a LOT of drinking.
And Olympic style swimming.
There was some really rough Wilderness Camping.
Then there was a Pregnant Pause.while we regrouped.
Pregnant Pause-she's pregnant-get it? Oh-Nevermind
We braved tough terrain
and the rough waters of the lake,
Lulu sprouted wings-hope they fall off before school today.
And there was some kite flying.
My Hero's job was to loft the kites in the air
so that others could fly them.
OH NO- If I've told him once
I've told him 100 times!
When the kite goes UP
LET GO OF IT.
Good-Bye, My Hero, Good-Bye
Let's hope he gets back in time to
Pick A Pumpkin
for Fall decorating.
Off to take pictures of the kids
going to school for the first time
this Fall Season.
I'll be visiting later today!

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!

It is early morning hours here.
Yes-I am still up.
The Fourth is over and I have
washed the last dish and
sealed the last of the leftovers
and stored them.

Everyone has gone home except
for the three little granddaughters
sleeping upstairs.
 MyHero got called in for
an emergency and the house
is quiet except for the
soft little lip smackings
coming from SweetCheeks.

I thought I would check my email
before I went to bed and saw that
many of you prayed for Kurt
and many of you visited
Kurt's blog yesterday.

I don't know if I am overtired,
or overly emotional
but by about the 5th comment
on Kurt's blog I was
bawling like a baby.
I know you have said prayers
for people here before
but the words you left Kurt
were amazing!
I hope he was able to read
every one of them yesterday.

My heart is overflowing with
love for all of you.
Where else in the world would
there be such an outpouring of
love and concern and caring
for a man that you have never met?

What a blessing you are-
to Kurt- to me- to each other.
Can you BELIEVE this blogging
community?
I am in awe!
I don't know what else to say-
except
THANK YOU!

oh- and I saved you a S'more.

There are NO calories involved
if you want to lick your screen.
I hope you have a wonderful day
and I'll be around with a REAL POST later-
