HAPPY ANNIVERSARY JASON & MINDY AND UPDATE ON JASON'S BRAIN CANCER

HAPPY  15th ANNIVERSARY    

to

Jason & Mindy 

They were married at Bay Beach

by Mindy's Dad (MyHero)

on a beautiful autumn day.

Fast forward 15 years and they have made

several moves over the years.

They have three beautiful children

        and are in the process of moving from

Omaha, Nebraska

back to the place they love,

Carmel, Indiana.

In the midst of a new job and move,

Jason had a massive seizure at the airport.

Within a few hours they found out he

had a brain tumor.

The brain tumor turned out to be cancerous

and, after surgery, 

he will now be undergoing

30 days of targeted radiation

along with chemo.

It is a very rare cancer.

There are only 4% of head cancers like his.

He has not been formally diagnosed yet-

the results of his tests have been sent

to yet another lab for a specific diagnosis.

He is part of a study so they can track the process.

Please wish them a a happy anniversary

and keep them in your prayers and well wishes

as they move along this path

that was not of their choosing.

Thanks to all of you that have reached out

with prayers and well wishes,

concern and support.

It means the world to me.

Bear with me as I try to play catch up.

I have been to Omaha and then 

taking care of John

and working with Scruffy.

I am just trying to stay ahead of the 8 ball here.

42 years of marriage started here-

The bride wore a Gunne Sax gown

and the groom wore a

BLUE LEISURE SUIT!

LOL

Then, we had to re-marry a few years later

IN A CHURCH

just to make everyone happy!

Yeah- I am wondering that, too!

Happy Anniversary to Tara & The Brawny Man.

We were so blessed when he 

became part of our family

twelve years ago.

Didn't they make a beautiful bride and groom?

Sorry- That is one of those "soft" pictures that does

not translate well to the blog.

Trust me-they were beautiful together.

They have had some good times

and some hard times but their 

love has endured through it all.

Fast forward till now.

Those two above produced these three below.....

and our little Anna Bella

Daddy/Daughter Dance at their school.

I am telling my daughter now...

I guess the honeymoon is over, honey!

she is cute anyway!;>)

And..guess what?

My daughter

 wouldn't change a thing about 

that celebration.

she would have been.

There was so much going on
that I forgot to
post about our
Anniversary~
August 17th.

Here we are-

THIRTY SEVEN YEARS AGO!

It was a hot August day

in 1975.
Yes...yes...she wore flowers in her hair....

When anyone asks how

long we have been married

we respond in unison

37 YEARS...
Well, I say it immediately..
MyHero can never remember
exactly how long we have
been married.

He says- Seems like yesterday.

I say- Seems like forever.

The straightman

and the

joker.

We make quite a pair.

It has not been an easy

37 years, despite what it

may look like from the outside.

We both came out of broken

relationships....

and probably should have gotten

to really know each other

BEFORE we got married.

We dated 30 days before

we said

I DO

under an old oak tree

in

Alva, Florida.

There were lots of ups and downs

over the years.

Some easy to accept,

others much harder to deal with.

BUT-

If WE can do this-

If WE can hang in there for the long haul,

then I believe that if

two people really

WANT TO

make a relationship work...

they can...

and will...

and should.

Take a look at your partner
today...a really hard look...
and think about your
life without them.
Marriage is not always easy,
but no one ever promised us
that it would be.

I only have one piece of
advice for you....
Keep your sense of humor.
Why?
Because you are going to
NEED IT!
