I GOTTA PEA-I GOTTA PEA--FRIDAY THIS & THAT

Want to know what ELSE I got?
(yeah- I know- poor English skills!;>)

I have mostly perennials (lots of hostas) this year .
I only have a few
annuals.
However, later today I am going
FLOWER SHOPPING.

I have some planters to fill.
This one is in an old copper wash tub
and I can see it needs sprucing up
a bit-past prime blooms.
Yep- It needs deadheading.
Want to know what ELSE I have?

I do have some gorgeous hosta plants.
I have some BLUEtiful Columbines.
I have some plants waiting to bloom.
Phlox, I think.
And....You know what ELSE I got?
I gotta PEA!
One lone little pea plant.
Where the heck did THAT come from?
So, when I rush into the house saying
I GOTTA PEA
everyone scrambles to clear a path
so I have a clear shot to the
powder room.

If you don't know WHY-well, if
you live long enough you WILL know.

Remember the kid's song?
I got a carrot
I got a yam
I got a green bean fresh
 not from a can
Got a potato and as you can probably see
I also got a pea.

I got a pea, I got a pea
Why is everyone laughing at me?
So if you find a little pea
On the Floor when I leave
It most probably belongs to me.

Yeah- Got it now?

If you are very good and promise
not to torment the baby bunnies
that eat your plants to the ground,
next week I will share
part of my girl's gone wild trip!

Have a wonderful Friday and
blessed weekend~

This is me, completely rearranging my plans for a quick trip to the bank, to include a detour by LOWES and some tomato plants. We have had tomato POTS out by the weatherbush for almost all our years here, for the first five or six years when we plowed our garden, set out a dozen plants or so, and watched them get tall as me, then absolutely MELT into the ground from the root up

An accidental glance in a Martha Stewart magazine apprised me that "YOU CANNOT PLANT TOMATOES WITHIN 100 FEET OF A WALNUT TREE." And realization came that those little round green things the squirrels tossed about the yard came from the WALNUT tree on our fenceline. Thus pots, cause I like the tree.

And so our Botany lesson for the day. I'm swapping that for your nifty, witty POEM. Have a frabjous weekend!!! Our Sunday will be spent at Sweetpea's graduation, and I'm surprising her with a new outfit---she hasn't seen me in a dress since that Teaparty at her Elementary school. My best foot forward (new white sandals too) for such an auspicious occasion. Hugs from the Heartland!

lol! Glad you’re having some garden fun! Peas and all! I was thinking of planting a couple tomato plants this weekend.. but I think I’ve decided not too.. I can buy them at the farm stand down the street. I bet I can get some peas there too ! lol!

Oh what fun!!! That made me think of this old rhyme: Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old. I could probably come up with some other "pea" thoughts, but probably best to leave it at that. I love all your flowers, and also the pea pot. Fun fun fun

I've definitely been there done that with clear a path because I need a straight shot to the bathroom...lol
All your plants look good. I don't do annuals. I'm too cheap and i hate gardening so I only want to plant something once
