It has been a long,
strange year for me.
Hubby went into assisted living
and I am still recovering
from the last few years
of caretaking--
which caused my own health problem.
I am doing a lot better.
I baked and cooked for three days
preparing for a
Girlfriend Party
for all the decorators/undecorators
that helped with
Christmas at the Clubhouse.
Just a sneak peak at
a few little things around
my house this year.
My grandgirl, Maria,
made good use of the whiteboard.
Later we used it to play
Pictionary.
Here she is with her
Christmas apron on
waiting for
the ladies to arrive~
Glasses are ready for some
Christmas cheer~
My Spode got a good workout~I have service for 24~
The piano was waiting for carols-Didn't happen-
Furniture moved all aroundto accommodate all the ladies~
And a sweet little gift
package for them to take home~
I had planned lots of pictures
but for some reason
they are not loading properly
and my wording is all over the place~sigh~
So-
Here's wishing you all a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and a NEW YEAR
filled with
HOPE, HEALTH & HAPPINESS.
Thank you for all the years
you have followed me
and been patient with my lack
of posts.
Love you all~

I hope you have a wonderful, warm Christmas in spite of everything you are dealing with. I know you have a loving family and friends nearby, and that you will make the best of it.
PS The photos that you did manage to post are fabulous!
Oh, love YOU, Diana! Wish I could have been at that girlfriend's party, such fun you must have had! I need new glasses, I thought you had to break out the "spade" and wondered for a second why you had to dig. Ha! Then, I saw your beautiful China cabinet, and I knew it was the "Spode"! Listen, if you ever need help in digging or dining, you just let me know but I am much better at the second one. Have a happy Christmas!
Oh, and your place is GORGEOUS!!
What a lovely home. Merry Christmas to you - enjoy every single blessing
Merry Christmas, Diana. Wishing you a peaceful and calm spirit as you move into 2026.

Merry Christmas Diana and a New Year that finds you with peace. Like many others here, I’m in the beginning of your journey. Your home looks absolutely lovely! Should you find time, would it be an imposition asking for a full tour?
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!
Wow, do you ever know how to throw a parTAY! Everything looks so fab! I'm glad to hear your health is doing a little better now. The caregiving spouse so often ends up with health issues of their own due to the demands and rigors of caregiving. It's an old, old story, isn't it. Have a wonderful Christmas, Diana, and best wishes for 2026!
Merry Christmas, Diana! I bet the ladies had a blast. I’m glad to hear you are doing better. I pray the new year will bring you lots of joy and good health. Praying for you and John.
Many blessings, Cecilia

OMG how wonderful it all is. Those gift bags are beautiful. I know with your generous heart they all were so appreciative of all you have done. They hit the jackpot when you moved in and got involved. Ok I want no need that chandelier over the piano!!!! How gorgeous is that!!!!! I am. so happy your health is better and John is adjusting to his new place. Merry Christmas sweet friend. I think the best gift you can give anyone is your heart and friendship and you have given that to me. Thank you so much. Love you Kris

Caregiving is exhausting as well I know being in that business. I'm glad that you both are getting the care you need! So good to see you posting again! What a fun party this was! So sweet that Maria was helping!!! Wishing you a blessed and very special Christmas dear friend!!!!
Not sure why my name didn't show up, this is Marilyn @ Mountaintopspice!
I always love your posts so I can still be connected to you. I miss the blogging days but I am just too busy. Your decorations and that tree are gorgeous. I wish I was one of the ladies at your party! Merry Christmas! I am so happy to know that you are doing better.

Your home looks so lovely ... warm and welcoming! I so appreciate you making time to post and bless us with these words. Merry Christmas!
Ohhh, Sweet Girl!!! Seeing your bright light pop up on my sidebar just BRIGHTED me this morning!!! It's already a sunny day, and now you're HERE!!! What a lovely party you had, and what a bevy of friends you must have had, surrounding and hugging and warming the atmosphere.
Such a perfect, sophisticated setting you all created, with all the silvers and whites, just perfection to bask in. I'm just so glad to hear from you, and having you pop up on LAWN TEA again---that was just the frosting on the SNOW-CONE!!
What a predicament you handled, and what a great telling of the story! I could just see The Grandmother's haughty glances, and feel your trembly hands on all those cold potatoes. What a lovely thing---to find we're connected by cooking predicaments, and the zany way we solved them. (Yours WINS, by a mile), and I love your ingenuity in such a PINCH.
So good so just imagine your sweet face telling that over coffee, as we sit comfortably upstairs in the little sitting room (we've been Getting Ready for a party for two weeks, with a health postponement, and a snowed-in). We've settled on New Year's Eve, for we've taken to celebrating with England for several years, now, and have our toasts and hugs at Seven Pip Emma as Big Ben chimes---then folks have plenty of time to go along to rowdier parties and we can be in bed at a decent hour. (here, that's before the bullets fly) Works for US.
Love and hugs across these frozen miles, and you have a fabulous Christmas with all your LOVIES! r
