I am one of those weird people
(..I hear those of you that KNOW me..)
Anyway, I am one of those weird people
that STILL keeps notebooks of ideas.
Yeah, yeah--I know all about
Pinterest and the internet but
there is something satisfying to me
about sitting down and looking through a
BOOK OF IDEAS.
I have one notebook for each season..
(well- Christmas has 3 or 4 binders)
These are all loose leaf 3 ring binders
filled with page protectors full
of inspirations and ideas.
Being as it IS Fall now..
I pulled my
PUMPKIN COLORED
notebook out.
Inside you will find things like this:
Yes! They are colored for each Season-
White For Snow/Winter.
Red For Christmas.
Pink for Little Girl Ideas.
Blue For Little Boy Ideas.
Yellow For Easter Ideas.
Green For Gardening/Outdoor Ideas.
And a slew of white ones with
typed cover inserts.
Well, you get the picture.
But for Fall
(and Halloween)
I dug out the Pumpkin Colored binder.
Here are a few of the images I have saved.
These are pictures of magazine pictures
so don't expect award winning
photography on my part...ok...
no whining about it either.
I have always loved window boxes..
and I like the earthy simplicity
of this one.
and a white pumpkin surrounded by Fall gatherings...
A peek at a birdbath that is
Closed for the Season
(poor birds)
And the path of pumpkins
that leads you through an arbor..
And brings you home to this..
A place to spend an afternoon,
or an evening,
or a life time.
I have had these images for many years
and don't know WHERE they are from...
but Thank You to the people
that photographed these.
Now..
Please excuse me..
I am headed to Starbucks...
to get a latte.
Can you say..
Pumpkin Spice Latte?
Sigh-sadly, I don't do sugar but
if you do...
OH BOY! OH BOY! OH BOY!
Now wipe the drool off your chin
and get busy (did I SAY you were lazy)?!
Hmmm...would that be what they mean
by the pot calling the kettle black?
You KNOW you need to get ready for
this final week of October, right?!
I do, too...
(if you are already done I DON'T want to know about it-m'kay...like I don't feel bad enough already?!)
Have a wonderful weekend.
I am going to try to get a couple
more rides in the VW bug
with the top down.
Soon she will be stored for winter
and I might spend a couple of weeks
in mourning.

You do have so much fun! Love the convertible and that picture of you and the pup! What fun! And I love all your binders of pictures for each season! What a great idea! I love the fall pictures! I haven't done any outside decorating yet...it's been really windy and I didn't want things to blow away. But now, since next week is Halloween, I need to at least get out the scarecrow and I really need to go get some pumpkins for the front porch. You've inspired me to get it done. I have a porch goose, but again, our front porch isn't covered and we are expecting rain this weekend, and I don't want the porch goose to get drowned on the porch since she really can't fly away...or I don't want her to fly away in the wind either...so most likely the porch goose will be watching things from the windows! Happy last week of October!!!
ReplyDeleteI keep a couple of notebooks next to my chair. I write down all my ideas - I have so many filled notebooks.
ReplyDeleteLove all the fall pictures. Hope you get some drives in - and the weather cooperates.
When I was a kid, my Grandma and Mom used to collect pictures of the Royal Family and paste them in large newsprint scrapbooks. Such colonialists! But lots of people did that then.
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh!
DeleteFall is a decorator's dream season, the color are spellbinding. You and Miss Daisey look love in ther bug!!!!!
ReplyDeleteTesting
ReplyDeletePaper will always be my choice too, Diana. Love the ideas you shared. Enjoy the VW rides while you can indeed! I know what you mean about no sugar too, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana, Hey lining a walkway might cost a small fortune these days ,not to mention create a squirrel invasion. I love haveing a book to look thru also. Blessing to you sweet friend, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteCute post Diana. Thanks so much for the heads up. The birdbath picture reminded me that I need to put the deicer in my birdbath very soon. Those binders are a great idea and probably full of great ideas. I love fall. It’s the best time of year love and hugs, Missy.
ReplyDeleteI love window boxes, too. I've never had one since my husband always worries about rotting windows, but now with all those faux outdoor flowers, they just might be in the cards! I'm jealous you still have convertible weather! Enjoy those last few rides...but I hope you can keep driving around topless for a few more weeks at least. And you know what I mean!! Hahaha!! 😂😉
ReplyDeleteWatching our furry family members with a pup cup always brings a smile to my face! I love your notebooks! What a fun way to get inspired for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThe 7th photo looks like a cozy home outdoors. The notebooks are right up my alley! I have one that is for decorations, but am seriously thinking of making ones like yours!!
ReplyDeleteSuper idea, those notebooks!
ReplyDeleteOh how I'd love to jump right into that pumpkin path, all the while sipping on one of your lattes.
Sending a big ole' hug to Miss Daisy!
It never occurred to me to use window boxes to decorate for other seasons. I have to start thinking about what I could do with my window boxes for Christmas, even it it's only the two that are closest to the front door.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
You've collected some really lovely ideas in your notebooks!!
ReplyDeleteWell, look at You in your VW Bug with the top down driving along. CUTE! Brian still has his VW Bug and takes drives in it sometimes with Francesca. I really appreciate those pictures from the old magazines. We can get some great decorating ideas from them. I remember you made these binders and gave them a pretty color for each season. Wouldn't that be nice to have that outside fireplace in your back yard? I like that trail of pumpkins under the archway too. That's creative. The white pumpkin with the berries is such a pretty picture. And Oh, that pumpkin spice latte looks good. I had my first flavored coffee this week. I hope November brings you all things good, Diana.
ReplyDeleteI don't even buy magazines anymore to have pictures to save. If I did, I would snap a picture rather than cut it out. LOL I'm too lazy to make notebooks, Diana!! Kudos to you!! I love what you shared with us!! Happy weekend! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of you "driving Miss Daisy!" :D Great fall ideas, too! I have plans to put up some Halloween decorations up, this weekend. But, first, I need to do a bit of dusting and vacuuming...
ReplyDeleteThere's something just lovely about turning the pages rather than scrolling. I still do most things on paper rather than use technology.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy this time of year, the colours are so wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLovely October views/pictures you've shared.
That is a nice picture of you and the pup :)
Have a good weekend.
All the best Jan
Hard to believe that it’s almost November.. and very soon before we know it.. Christmas! And then 3 months of cold, snow and ice…. Wish we could skip that part…. (It’s me Vivian!)
ReplyDeleteAwesome idea. I have one binder that is stuffed with hand written notes/patterns and some that were torn out of magazines. Mine is not very organized at all. I'm impressed that you found a pumpkin colored binder.
ReplyDeleteI love that outdoor fireplace. I can envision sitting there with that pumpkin spice latte and a nice blanket listening to the fire crackle
Great ideas. Beautiful. Enjoy the top down and the wind in your face. Ahhhh. Hugs Kris
ReplyDeleteI am loving seeing your smiling face, my friend! I l also love having binders too, having things to hold in my hand as opposed to scrolling. Have a lovey weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing that smiling face too! Boy, if I could have taken Katie like that she could have had a kitty cup. Some brave kitties do! So glad you can by this morning I am trying with not much success to let up on the fact that my precious little one isn't here. It'll get better in the blog. She said.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, each colorful picture!
ReplyDeleteThe top is down in October in Wisconsin. Yippeeeeeee .... enjoy the nice October days my friend. It was fun to see YOU and pup!
ReplyDeletexo
Lots of gorgeous pix but the star is your happy face in the car! You're looking gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI’ve been away so long but for sure I’m coming back. I have binders and binders too!
ReplyDeleteMy life has changed so much in the last 4 years. Married my new husband 2 years ago and he’s truly my reward from Heaven.
I was surprised to see we have been sort of neighbors for a few years. We sold our house in Weyauwega WI this past January to our granddaughter and we are looking for a small cottage currently. We like to divide our time between a 55+ community in Illinois (poker club is very active) and the quiet of rural Wisconsin.
Rachel checking in from gorgeously golden Indiana. Basement flood took my computer, all the carpet, five weeks of fans to dry, a great portion of my patience and a lot of my remaining sanity. No email or Facebook and this back channel through LAWN TEA is the only portal out right now. You’re always a light in any tunnel. Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of you and your sweet pup, so cute! I don't know if you changed it but your sidebar with all the blogs is all sort of backwards now?--- if used to have them in order of new posts plus a picture and now it's all different---- just thought I'd letcha know. Hope your Fall Is going great, we have warm and sunny 🌞 weather here, HUGS

ReplyDeletePS------ Now it looks back to how it was!!!!!!! WEIRD.
ReplyDeletePSSS!!! 😆 lots of times I leave comments, not just your blog, but others too, and it just won't publish them, I click "publish " and it just sits there. Does this happen to others or is it just me? Ha ha ha 😆 🤣 😂
