Update from KRIS @ JUNK CHIC COTTAGE ON HER HUBBY, TERRY & ANOTHER SERIOUS PROBLEM

Yesterday you prayed for Terry here
Last night I got an update
from Kris on Terry's condition.

I just got home from the hospital and Terry is so much better tonight.  He showered, shaved and was able to eat a little bit today.  We took a nice romantic stroll around the halls tonight. LOL!  I think the collapsed bile duct was the problem since he is starting to do really well today after them opening that back up with the stent.  They said he may even come home tomorrow.  So that is encouraging.  He looked really good tonight.  Had lots of color in his face and has not had to take any pain meds all day.  It is amazing what havoc a bile duct closing can do to you.  Too crazy.  Just glad it is not turning out to be something worse.  The doctors are still cautiously optimistic but his surgeon acted pretty happy how he was doing today.

Now, we have another
SERIOUS PROBLEM ON OUR HANDS
and it is all YOUR fault.

Since so many of you commented on
WHAT A HUNK HE IS
his head has swollen so much that Kris is afraid
he will not be able to fit in the car
for the drive home.
I think a couple of you even prayed that
if you ever have a fire that
HE WOULD COME RESCUE YOU.
Too bad he is TAKEN girls
and I don't think
I would want to tangle with
that Kris if I were you!
just sayin......
(and you DID notice they took a romantic
stroll around the hospital hallway-
hope he had his gown tied up the back-
you know how those hall oglers are!;>)

Thanks so much for your prayers.
I know it gave Kris a lot of peace of mind
and I do believe in the power of prayer.
Have a wonderful Sunday.
I am feeling a bit better and headed
back to Mimi's house to help
with our little
BrightEyes and the boys.

KRIS @ JUNK CHIC COTTAGE is asking for PRAYERS for her hubby!

I don't usually do two posts in
one day but this is a special request.
has asked for prayer for
her handsome husband, Terry.
This is the only picture I could find
of him on her blog.
He is a fire chief
somewhere in greater Chicagoland.
(forgive me if I got that wrong Kris)
Anyway, he went into the hospital on Thursday
in terrible pain and they cannot figure out what is wrong with him.
Kris, understandably, is beside herself.
She is a nurse so knows more than most people
and she is WORRIED SICK!
Please pray that they can figure out
what is wrong with him
very soon and that there is a quick cure
for whatever it is.
Please pray for some peace of  mind for Kris, too,
AND strength for her to get through this.

I will do an update as soon as I know anything.
Thank you so much.
You are all so awesome!

I might be off a bit in the next
couple of days.
yes-I know I am a bit "off" most of the time
I came home to try to get some
rest and get rid of this
terrible cold.
I will be headed back to help
Mimi with the baby on Sunday.

A Bit Of Easter At Mimi's House

Are these the cutest
EASTER PLATES ever?
The salad plate is oval shaped and is sitting on
a 12" dinner plate.
Mimi got a whole set on close out last year.
They were originally $16.00 EACH.
Sitting down, are you?
She got them for 79 CENTS each.
Yes!  You read that right!
79 CENTS EACH!

Aren't they cute?
Look at the different colors.
Our Lulu has been here for the week
on her school's Spring break.
She went home yesterday.
Much of her time was spent loving on her
new baby cousin, Bright Eyes.
She is a good little "mom".
AND she likes to craft.
So, while baby was being Mama-ized,
Lulu took it upon herself to try those
BUNNY NAPKINS
I showed the tutorial on here

Mimi did not have any solid colored napkins handy
so Lulu used some paper napkins she had.
She whipped up 8 of these in about 20 minutes flat.
I think she did a great job.
While she was doing that I was laying low.
I caught a cold from CharlesInCharge
NOT GOOD.
So NOT GOOD that I am headed home
today for the weekend.
Daddy to Bright Eyes will be home
for the weekend
to help Mimi and I will be back on
Sunday night.
I need to get a couple good days rest
because I have not held that sweet baby girl
since Monday.
I hope I can sleep like that tonight...
well, maybe NOT in a footed sleeper!
Imagine THAT in MY SIZE!
Yes!  They DO make them in my size...
See?
You can buy one here.
Hmmmm...I don't think that is what
MyHero meant when he said he
had a DREAM of me
 dressed in pink nightwear.
Me in THAT nightwear would be a
NIGHTMARE!

I will try to make it around to visit
if I can manage to
STOP SNEEZING!

How To Have A Beautiful Living Room With A Busy Active Family

You want to see this, right?
Here it is for your viewing pleasure.
Isn't it gorgeous?
This is the living room that belongs to
a busy, active family.
source/Lawrence Reaves

Well, at least that is how it is advertised.
You can follow the link if you don't believe me.

Here is the reality at my daughter's
busy, happy family home
when the cousins are visiting.
Here you will find the two year old
with a bowl on his head.
And you will find a mini-trampoline
at the end of the sofa
with Cousin SweetCheeks jumping on it
and the 4 year with his soccer ball pjs on.
The pjs have to be peeled off
to throw them in the washer
when he is not paying attention..
And...We have piggy-back relays
over the block obstacles.
(while SweetCheeks continues to bounce)
And THAT my friends is the REALITY behind a
BEAUTIFUL LIVING ROOM.

Oh..and then there's this!
The perfect decoration!!!!
I am happy to say little Bright Eyes
got a tad jaundiced but is now
pretty and pink again!

PICK YOUR FAVORITE-Easter Table Winner

Wow!  You did yourselves proud
with all the votes.
Not a single table sat empty
and you would ALL have others
at your table..
It was so close I had my Lulu
count the votes again...
 including all the late votes.

The WINNER by ONE vote?
NONE! Because after a Re-Count
There was a FIRST PLACE TIE!
             source                                                                      source
Okay- I will admit that surprised me.
I knew there were a lot of blue lovers
but I didn't think it would tie for first place
which just goes to show...
what do I know?

Coming In Second-
With TWO LESS VOTES Than First Place
Eggs In A Row (with bunny napkin tutorial)
 source
And third place goes to:
  TipToe Through The Tulips

It's funny how well I know some of you.
I can predict just which table I think you will pick.
I would guess I am right about 75% of the time
but sometimes you fool me.
Yes.You.Do.
Like picking Blue Plate Special As #1!

I love doing this.
It is fun to find things I think will appeal to everyone.
AND
I already have an idea for the next
PICK YOUR FAVORITE!
AND
I see that I am almost up to
700 Followers!
How the heck did that happen?
Who in the world signed up to follow
The Crazy Lady from the Midwest?
Well...when I get to 700 (still can't believe it)
I will have a special giveaway.
Hmmm...have to think of something
VERY SPECIAL
to do for all my wonderful followers!
I'm thinking-I'm thinking

Have a great day everyone!
I am still in Babyland!

Sleepy Saturday

Well, You all know it has been a
busy few days around here with new little
BABY BRIGHT EYES.

Today, it is catching up with us.
See?
So-tomorrow morning- Saturday-
I think we might all have a
Pajama Day!
What do you think?

That beautiful blanket was a gift from a
Sister By Another Mother.
Her Aunt (in her 80's) crocheted it.
It is a marvelous, beautiful piece of work.
Mimi (and baby) love it.

I'll be around to visit as I can.
Bear with me!

Spring Arrives On The Bay-Oh BABY!

Here is what
SPRING LOOKS LIKE AT MY HOUSE
What do you mean it doesn't look like SPRING?
IT IS!
How do I KNOW it is Spring?
Because
LAST MONTH it looked like THIS:
See?  I told you it was Spring!
Wait till you see what SUMMER looks like.
It is one big DRIP...
and then it freezes again.

Welcome To Wisconsin
where royalty resides!

Royalty- I say!
You will notice the little fingers
held out?
(She hasn't decided if she is lefty or a righty yet)
Yes- we train them early around here.
Bright Eyes is practicing for
tea with Queen Nana!

Fast And Easy Coffee Cake And A BIG FAT FLOP

You know how it is when you start out
with high hopes for a quick little treat?
My daughter belongs to a MOPS
(Moms Of PreSchoolers)
and even though she won't go to the
meeting this week she needs to supply
a simple little coffee cake.
So, we hauled out the recipe book
and made a wonderful coffee cake.
Well....We THOUGHT it was going to be wonderful.
It was in a BUNDT PAN and SOMEONE me
failed to prepare the pan properly
(didn't flour it after greasing it-duh)
So it came out kind of a FLOP.
HOW DO YOU CURE A FLOP?

Hmmmm.....maybe with some icing?
Ummmm...NOPE!  That didn't work....
EPIC FLOP!
Do YOU ever have FLOPS?
No?  Liar, Liar, Pants On Fire
It seems like everyone in Blogland is SO perfect.
Guess what?  All those PERFECT PEOPLE?
Yeah- Ummm.....That's not real.
REAL PEOPLE have REAL FLOPS sometimes.

So.-After OUR flop~
I used OUR because I like to share
the credit where I can~
it was back to the drawing board.
We I found a different recipe this time.
Ah-  A perfect recipe with few ingredients.
A good thing
being as I had used all the "good stuff" on
THE FLOP.
We I ditched the BUNDT PAN and used an
8x8 pan this time
(GREASED AND FLOURED-
thanks for asking.)
SOOO much better!
Oh, yeah, baby....
AND speaking of baby...
notice how cleverly I worked the word
BABY in there?
I will leave you with a peek at
PURE SWEETNESS....
for all the baby lovers out there.
Oh My Chubby Goodness!!!!

Have a good day-
I will be serving up THE FLOP here today
and flopping around doing nothing...
Yeah, right- FAT chance of THAT happening
with a 2 year old, a 4 year old,
a new baby and a C-Sectioned Mom!

Here's The EASY Coffee Cake Recipe...
SO GOOD!

Coffee Cake

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup  butter + 2 teaspoons Cinnamon
1/3 cup milk
2    eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 medium (1 cup) tart cooking apple, peeled, cored, chopped

Topping

1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup Butter  + 2 Tablespoons  Cinnamon

Heat oven to 375°F. Combine all coffee cake ingredients except apple in bowl; stir just until moistened. Stir in apple.
Spread batter into greased and floured  8- or 9-inch square baking pan.
Combine 1/3 cup flour and brown sugar in bowl; cut in 1/4 cup  butter and cinnamon until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Sprinkle over coffee cake batter. Bake 28-32 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool completely.

Hope YOU have a wonderful day!
I will visit when and as I can.

Spring In Milwaukee

Oh- Can you believe that it is almost Spring?
You all know I am staying
with my daughter's family
to help with new little Bright Eyes.
It is cold all over our whole state.
BUT
Look what's happening in Milwaukee
TODAY!
Yes!  Today!
Oh- Green- I see GREEN!
Do you see it?
Do you see GREEN?
Are YOU tired of the cold and bad winter weather?
Want to see more?
Well, hop aboard the local train....
What?  What do you mean what's going on here?
Well, maybe I AM DREAMING!
It is still snowy and cold outside and I may be
living in a DREAM WORLD.
A dream world full of grids and girders.
See them?
Ah- A little kingdom of green and growing things.
Too bad the OUTSIDE looks like THIS:
You can read about the domes here.
Of course,
EVERY GREEN REALM
needs a little Irish lass to rule it.
Soon she will be boss of
her own little kingdom here,
Including, but not limited to,
these THREE SUBJECTS.
They'll never know what hit them!
But right now she needs a nap...
BIG YAWN---
Being the ruler of
THE KINGDOM is hard work.
Especially for a six day old baby!
Amen!
