MOON MOON SHINING BRIGHT-BLESS THE BLOGGERS HERE TONIGHT

 Oh- Don't you

LOVE A HARVEST MOON?
I love it OUTSIDE over the water.
AND
I love it INSIDE,too!
SEVERAL YEARS AGO---
I popped by Patty's blog

Patty's Pretty Things
She was sprucing up her booth,
getting ready for a show.
I told her
I LOVE THOSE MOONS!
She SENT ME some moons!
Seriously-Aren't bloggers
the best people in the world
for sharing of themselves and their talents?

Thank you SO MUCH, Patty.
I still love them after all these years!!!
(Sorry it is night when I was taking these
pictures and the lighting is horrible.)
She makes the moons into banners.
I had to find the perfect place for MINE.
A place where I would see them often
and it wouldn't get lost in the  mix
of Fall decorations.

Gramma Hazel's gate leg table acts as a
SIDE TABLE
in our living room at the condo.

It's the PERFECT spot for them!
I love it and it makes me smile
every time I walk past it.

Also- a person that no longer blogs
sent me this wonderful piece that
I framed and bring out every year.
OC you know who you are.

And...
on the OTHER END of the spectrum..
I DO love the SUN, too!

MANY MOONS AGO~

Nancy @ Wild Oak Designs
was talking about Jerusalem Artichokes
which produce plants/flowers.
They are also called
SUNCHOKES!
She sent me a whole package of them
I WAS going to try to grow them in Wisconsin.
BUT-they wouldn't grow here!
She EATS the tubers, too.
Me?  Nope- Not gonna do it!
I would grow it..but, honey, I WAS NOT gonna eat it!
(sorry, Nancy)
Here is what they look like growing.
source
Aren't they pretty and happy looking flowers?
I am sad they didn't grow here.

And because I started with a MOON
I thought I should end with one....
Ready?

Oh- Wait...sorry...
MyHero says he is NOT going to let me  post
THAT PICTURE of him
Showing his BURNT TIGHTY WHITIES!
That about did him in.
He tried drying them in a microwave
when he forgot to pack a spare for his
overnighter.

Hmmm....
Well, ya win some-ya lose some!
Hope you all have a
WONDERFUL DAY
and a great weekend!

  1. Oh my!!! Cooked undies!! That's really something! Not sure what, but it's something all right! LOL. So funny. I love the moon faces...that's really a different kind of fall decoration! And those artichokes...those flowers really came from artichokes? I didn't know that. We have flowers similar to that growing wild everywhere right now, but I don't think they are artichokes. Maybe I should pull them up and see what's on the other end! LOL. And with that I will say "The End". This was another verrrrry interesting post. LOL. Loved it.

  3. I didn'r know much about artichokes, other than I do like to eat them, so thanks for all the information. I do love to look at the full moon, but i's so cloudy here we don't get to see it often at all. I love all the sunrises as they remind me to be thankful for all I have and can do Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

  11. Oh, the moon banner is delightful. I didn't get a chance to see the Harvest Moon this year. I like that Autumn framed picture also that your friend sent you. But most of all, I love Gramma Hazel's table. That is an old piece, and I love the wood on it. Such a treasure, Diana. I'm glad you have that table to remember her by. Yes, our blog friends are the best sending us little goodies all the time. : )

  12. Loved the 'moon' read and pics. I carry over many stories and pictures in my mind of the moon. "I see the moon, the moon sees me, God bless the moon and God bless me! ;-)
The undies? It was a good idea!
    Love from down this way!

  13. I am still laughing at the tidy whites!! Goodness!! I am wondering WHY they burnt like that? TOO done? I put fabric in the microwave all the time - you know those bowl cozies? And things with rice in them for aches and pains. You never see those getting scorched!

    Love your moon things......

  26. That table is perfect for the moons with the perfect sign on the table too. I haven't even started decorating. Have to get to that. I remember driving home from work one night and there was a harvest moon accompanying me all the way. It was marvelous. Take care and have a great day.

  27. LOL! Mr C would be mortified if I showed his "burnt" tighty whities. Maybe that's why he chooses to wear black compression boxers.
Love the harvest moon banner (and gateleg!). I wouldn't eat the sunchokes either, nope.
I hope your autumn fills your soul with all things beautiful!

  28. That's hilarious!!! Not sure that I would have thought to dry undies in the microwave, but at least I now know not to! Lol!

I have been lost to blogging world...and actually lately the real world....I have been helping our daughter...they are moving to WA (he hubby has been hired by Amazon)so they lots to do to get ready!
And I was feeling sorry for myself...as she is leaving and taking the only grandkids I will ever have!
Alas, not all is lost....I will see them...and in the meantime I have been madly sewing and sewing...I have a quilt at a small quilt show in Wisconsin, and am getting several quilts ready and finished to quilt....
Hugs to you...sorry you didn't eat those sun chokes....but they are really beautiful when they bloom!

  31. I agree, bloggers are the best!! They are generous and kind and very creative. Love the moon banner. Lately the moon has been showing up too early for my liking. It's been so dark, so early here and it's only going to get worse when we change the clocks. Maybe I need a sun banner instead!! Enjoy the week!! xxoo

  36. OMG I am laughing my head off about the burnt undies!

I had sunchokes last year from a local farmer. They were delicious raw in a salad! You can roast them, too. It's just a root veggie.

    The moon faces are darling!
