I hung out at my daughter's house
last night.
One of her best friends was there
and we shared lots of
giggles over past escapades
(theirs not my own).
especially interested in
WHAT DID MOM DO
WHEN SHE WAS MY AGE?
WHEN SHE WAS MY AGE?
Sadly (or not so sadly)
they had not done much of anything
they weren't supposed to do-
although they had
"mouths" on them sometimes
and managed to get scolded by teachers
for things like cutting across
several blocks to shorten their
'GYM WALK FOR EXERCISE'.

I do have some pictures that I need to get downloaded
and share with all of you.
But for now- I will leave you with this...
Marty McFly-
The Scuba Diver-
Dorothy-Wizard of Oz--as a blond!
Off they go~
The convicts-
and
The Cat!
I won't mention that she couldn't find
AN EYEBROW PENCIL
so she drew her whiskers on with
NAIL POLISH!
"Mom" might (or might not)
have had a word or two to say about that!
And- let's not forget
ELVIS!!
Ain't no hound dog at his house!
I am proud to say I only ate
FOUR PIECES
of
HALLOWEEN CANDY!
AND
NO THEY WERE NOT GIANT CANDY BARS-
Thanks for asking!

I hope everyone has a wonderful first day of
NOVEMBER
(and no sugar hangover).
See you soon!!!
Sounds like a fun night. I remember when mine were little ones, my youngest didn't like nuts and would actually refuse candy with nuts in it. Everyone got such a kick out of him. My neighbor began making up a special bag just for him.
ReplyDeleteis sweet cheeks taller than her sister!!!!! they look great, that little dorthy is just adorable,, have you heard anything from Wanda, I have been so worried about her husband,,
ReplyDeleteThe costumes are so much fun! I was wishing last night that we had dressed up and dropped in on a few friends. We don't have kids stop by...so we could BE kids! lol Happy Nov!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you made it through and still managed to have some fun. We had about 18 trick or treaters and I think I ate a small candy bar every time I went to the door! I was not as good as you. I'm envious of your being close enough to see your grands to be with them on special occasions. Hoping we will be close by ours someday soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana...
ReplyDeleteHow fun reminiscing with your grown kids and their friends!
Great costumes on your grands...just look at Dorothy!🧡
Rainy rainy rainy...happy November to you!
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Oh I wish I could eat all the candy I'd like....no can do. I had 1 PB pumpkin. And it was yummy!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are adorable!! I'm sure that had a blast.
Happy Nov.1 st to you!
Wait. What?? That looks like it's really on fire!
ReplyDeleteSUCH cute costumes! And nobody became outraged, I hope. *sigh* Reminiscing is fun too. As is candy -- no matter what the size. Can't wait to see those throwback pics. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThe kiddos look adorable and I know they had fun. Bet the grown ups had fun too remembering!
ReplyDeleteSuch cute costumes! Looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was filling the piñata with candy, I found myself eating bits and pieces along the way haha. These are cute outfits that the kids wore. I especially liked Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. Your daughter's front porch looks festive with all the spider webs and pumpkins. Oh, what fun times for the trick-or-treaters.
ReplyDeleteHappy November Diana!
love, ~Sheri
Those are great costumes! My Rare One's blonde great-niece of a similar age dressed up as Dorothy too -- but I don't know if she wore ruby slippers -- will have to check the photo again! But she had the same dress and basket.
ReplyDeleteHi Diana!
ReplyDeleteSound like you had a great night.. Those costumes were adorable!!.. Love Little Dorothy how cute!!.. Nail polish? ouch LOL
You have a wonderful group of grandchildren and I love each and every costume. They were all very classy. Good job about not eating the candy! And nail polish is not too healthy on the skin. I love the door that looks like a face with those big eyes!!!!!!!!!!!!! sandie
ReplyDeleteThat little gal on her way to Oz is darling. The others so cool...oh my! Hope that the whiskers washed off okay.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great group of gobblins! They are so cute! Of course the teens were convicts. But that Dorthy though!!! Just darling!!
ReplyDeleteI confess: I ate 4 Reese Pumpkins.
Lisa
Such fun in all these photos! I admire your self control!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I was good and stayed out of the candy and sent it on to the firehouse today instead of keeping what was left here for temptation! Love all your grands costumes. Adorable all of them. Next year I am driving up so we can put on our Thelma and Louise costumes and go trick or treating! Hugs and Happy November 1st right back at ya.
ReplyDeleteKris
Such cute costumes! My Grands looked great and had a good time. I stayed home and kept my cold to myself. I got my own little trick or treats for later this week. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteFOUR pieces? Yeah, right, I believe you...ha ha!
ReplyDeleteLOVE all the costumes, all just perfect!
Sweet Cheeks is getting so tall!
Happy November to you! xx
Diana, Yeah those fun sized bars are just not that fun !! I loved all the costumes. I swear it's hard to see who is who as they are growing so much. I almost want to cry thinking about how quickly time gets away. I think when we raised kids, we did not have to be their best friends..we could still be parents. LOL My daughters are my best friends now that they are grown. I am blessed . I know you feel the same about your children too. Blessings to you dear friend, xoxo, love Susie
ReplyDeleteCute costumes and sounds like fun! It's amazing to me what some kids come up with for costumes and how many are so creative while others go for go old fashioned stand bys.
ReplyDeleteSuch precious photos! A moment in time...they grow up so fast!
ReplyDeleteThe kids are just adorable. What a fun, fun night and many good memories.
ReplyDeleteThey are all so cute. I miss having trick or treaters here and no one to dress up in a costume. Maybe at our next house it will be different. We live too far in the woods for it to be safe for trick or treaters here. Thank you for sharing your kiddos in their costumes. I love it. You are blessed. What a fun night that must have been for you all.
ReplyDeleteFun time with your daughter. Love the Halloween pictures. Time sure flies. It would take more than one night to go over all your escapades. Your kids sound like they were pretty well behaved. We used to put mud pies on our neighbors white picket fence and play hooky from church... Nothing terribly serious I ate a lot more Halloween candy than that. I have no willpower.. I hope All is well with you and that you are enjoying your new digs..xxoo.
ReplyDeleteGrrr-eat costumes!!!
ReplyDeleteAww!! they are cute!. you had fun time with your daughter.. that was great!..
ReplyDeleteThey all look so cute. I am glad a good time was had by everyone. I am preparing to go to see my father as he is back in the hospital for 2nd time in 9 days with congestive heart failure. It may be my last visit. I am bringing him some fall color leaves from my yard so he will see for possibly the last time. My brother both feel he will last only 2 weeks at most. Say a prayer for my dad and mother, Harold and Rose.
ReplyDeleteWell that sure was fun! They all had really great costumes...all the way down to Sweet Cheek's little "soft" ruby slippers! Halloween kinda sucks around here...not one little beggar in sight. :(
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, love, love, love the costumes!! What a fun night indeed! Thats the only draw back to living on the backside of a neighborhood, I really miss the trick or treaters!
ReplyDeleteHappy November!
Saimi
Ah yes, they will enjoy looking back on those photos. Good stuff. Yeah, you are good, only four small pieces? I do admire self control.
ReplyDeleteFrom Central Florida watching refrigerator temps. hahahahah
I hope your November is filled with some decisions that pleas the soul!
Central Florida, Sherry & jack
I love these pictures!! They all look so cute, great job on the costumes. Hope they had a fun fun fun evening and got lots of goodies to eat! Can you even believe it's November already!!??
ReplyDeleteHell, I’d be afraid to tell the kids some of the things I did at their age! But then again we didn’t have smart phones to distract us.
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe it is November already! WOW!!!!
ReplyDeleteMarty McFly!!!! Love it!!!!
Fun and all the children were dressed so cute!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend an evening. Your spooky goblins are too cute! I found a bag of caramel M&Ma in our bag of treats that I fell in love with. Went out an bought a bag for me yesterday! Now on to November !
ReplyDeleteYour trick or treaters sure put a smile on my face, Diana! I joined you in some candy eating, too.
ReplyDeleteI read your previous post and said a prayer for Don and Wanda.
Happy November! xx
How cute do they all look. I don't think my mom would have been thrilled with the nail polish. Big picture, kids don't always think but no harm a kid thing. I can see me doing it at that age
ReplyDeleteCindy
What cuties they all are!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Well, little Dorothy is adorable!! And I can't help but wonder how long your scuba diver kept those flippers on?! Loved the pics and the memories being made!
ReplyDeleteLooks and sounds like a fun night :)
ReplyDeleteLoved your photographs.
Happy November Wishes
All the best Jan
Those costumes are awesome. I bought candy but didn’t eat any... yet (wink). Have a blessed evening. Hugs
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes! Love Marty McFly especially. I have a special place in my heart for those movies ;)
ReplyDeletexo,
rue
Your post made me smile.
ReplyDeleteGlad I dropped by tonight.
Hugs,
Laura of Harvest Lane Cottage
Its so fun to catch up with your funny takes on life, Diana! I'm a lout with blogging lately---that's all I seem to say!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's friends have known me forever, in our little Irish-catholic area, kids meet in kindergarten and go not only through high school together, but often to the three most popular colleges in Illinois. So those sweet girls often share great stories of growing up together--me more so than them!!! And the cool thing is they have so many loving memories of moi! Really?!!
Your sweeties look so great! I didn't get pics of little Mad, but she was the perfect Minnie Mouse, the love of her two year-old life! Oh, how I love being in this grandma club!
Your last comment, or maybe it was an email, was about catching up in an email and that would be great. I learn so much from your experiences, and if it feels good to let it out with me, then let's go! I may talk/write your ear off, you are a good listener (Ha!). You get it!
Love you,
Jane x
All fabulous -- but Dorothy wins my vote! I love 'em!
ReplyDeleteI love all these costumes... They are so sweet and fun!
ReplyDeleteHow creative, too... Elvis and Marty McFly! Those boys are too cute! I love it! And Miss Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz looks so pretty. These are all great, classic costumes!
Looks like you all had a great night! :)
Blessings, Net
Such adorable outfits! Of course you saw where the witchy me came out for a party a few nights before Halloween! I am the good witch but I love dressing up!
ReplyDeleteSuch adorable Halloween outfits that were made even more adorable with the cutest kids in the neighborhood! We didn't buy much candy this year and it was a good thing for two reasons 1) we didn't have that many kids; 2) it left very little for me to get!!! A Win-win! Was a beautiful night to be out trick or treating.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute crew of tricksters!
ReplyDeleteI love how the house looks! I also love all the Halloween costumes. They all look so cute. Happy November to you!!
ReplyDeleteOnly four pieces of candy you were good.
ReplyDeleteMerle............
The grandkids are so cute. Glad everyone had a good time. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of your grands. What do we expect when they have such good-looking grandparents? As for kids today, I have recently read that teenagers don’t do much of the same things either we or our children did when we were their age. Drinking and smoking is way down, thankfully. Kids are not as sexually active as back when. Whew, 😅 They don’t begin (or maybe never start) dating until sometimes after 20. I am sure there is more that they don’t do. Your grand-teens must have thought your daughter’s stories were quite interesting. Did she share anything that you did not know already? Usually that happens. 😘Linda@Wetcreek Blog
ReplyDeleteGreat costumes! And sounds like a fun night. No little ones around here anymore (and no grandkids), so Halloween isn't fun for us anymore. Maybe someday! (But please, not too soon. lol)
ReplyDeleteCUTE .. love the red shoes on Dorothy, so cute.
ReplyDeleteI just ate three small sized Twix bars .. shhhh ;-)
Great costumes! You didn't say what you dressed up as! I was good and didn't eat any candy, cuz we didn't have any! We went out to dinner instead to Texas de Brazil and I filled up on the great salad bar. Not saying I don't have some chocolate stashed somewhere in my house though :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a very creative bunch! They all look amazing...and nail polish huh?? How'd that work out?? Yikes!!
ReplyDeleteHi Diana! What a fun night - such special times. Everyone looks adorable in their costumes as well. You do need to slow down the growing up of the grands, though - it's happening much too quickly! Happy November! Jane
ReplyDeleteLoved all the kiddos costumes! Girl, I am afraid I ate more candy than you! LOL! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
ReplyDeleteI love looking at the kids costumes. So cute and they are all getting so big. I did not give out candy this year and instead gave out little bags of Halloween pretzels. The left over little bags of pretzels aren’t so bad. Lol. Have a nice day and week :)
ReplyDeleteI stayed away from the extra candy and chocolate too....I need to do this at Christmas...
