Oh Pumpkin,. Oh Pumpkin,
You used to be so bright.
You glowed like neon.
You shone like a light.
Now you have calmed down,
And I love the sight,
Now that you're painted,
A pretty off-white.
Yesterday, Yesterday,
You looked like this,
But I took the chalk paint,
and gave you a kiss.
Then, when you were dry,
Valspar touched your face.
Oh! How I love you-
You belong in this place.
The last rose of summer,
Graces this little vignette.
And I painted that gourd
while you were still wet.
Good day little pumpkins,
I am off to the races.
But I will return,
To see your sweet faces.
Here you were before
My lovely little gourd.
And here you are now-
On my cutting board.
Thanks for the visit,
Please stay a while,
I promise I'll try
To give you a smile.
Have a great day!!!!
And remember~
Put on your nicest dress when you go to Walmart-
because you never know when the
paparazzi will be following you.
See what I mean?
You have been warned!
Diana, I loved the pumpkin make-over , it looked great with the rose and gourd. Ewwee, I am so glad I do not own that dress. LOL. Even during Halloween, this is too much , or should I say not enough (length). Only you would find this. haha. Blessings to you naughty girl, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLove the pumpkins and the poem!
ReplyDeleteYour off-white pumpkin is pretty, Diana. You've been doing some painting? Your poem is sweet. My heart still sings when I see an orange pumpkin, but I do love the white ones too. : )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Great poem not so keen on pumpkin.
ReplyDeleteThe fellow in the dress would raise eye brows, he is cute.
Merle.......
Now that's the best of both worlds, isn't it. Orange and bright for Halloween, muted and elegant for Thanksgiving. Fabulous!
ReplyDeleteWell...I was going to comment on the dress but words elude me! The cat got my tongue! hahahaha!
ReplyDeleteyou gave those pumpkins a very pretty dress! Beautiful words and images!!
ReplyDeleteLove the painted pumpkins! Ohhhh, the dressed up shopper.....not sure I could have stifled a giggle if I saw that :))
ReplyDeleteThat's so messed up
ReplyDeletehe's wearing the wrong color.
You definitely left us smiling! More! MORE!!!! I love your poetry! Now I have to go spray paint a pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteLove the little white pumpkin and gourd. Great idea. Thank you for sharing it. It made me smile...but not nearly as much as that lovely outfit in Walmart! So chic. Thank you for making my day.
ReplyDeleteoh good heavens...I have seen some strange things at Wal-Mart, but that takes the cake.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins look wonderful. I turned a pumpkin into a snowman one year. Ha! Yours look very refined and elegant...
I certainly hope your pretty white pumpkin doesn't turn back to an organ pumpkin at the stroke of midnight. Such a cute post and clever poem!! My sister decorates with a while theme she went for the light and bright look after a recent remodel. So what I'm saying here is your white pumpkin and gourd is right up her ally.
ReplyDeleteVery nice, very, very nice!
Saimi
i love the pumpkin makeover.
ReplyDeleteAnd the last picture just stole the show.. :D :D :D
I love your poem and your little still-life vignettes. That last photo made me giggle!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it. Was feeling a bit down until I visited here. Thanks for the cheer.
ReplyDeleteSweet sweet pumpkins and poem! It took me a second to see that the person in the dress had a beard!! Too funny! I see that a lot in my Walmart. One of the cashiers had a full face of makeup and bows in his hair....it was this summer...not Halloween!
ReplyDeleteFirst, the Wal-martian, lol. Just so wrong, rotfl. Second, love your pumpkin and gourd. Your poem is fun. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness I love the pumpkins with white - but the man in a dress . . . who knows what that is???
ReplyDeleteYou have transformed your little pumpkins beautifully, Diana...and I know you wrote that darling poem...you are a woman of many talents! That guy in Walmart fits right in, doesn't he? LOL!
ReplyDeleteI love the pumpkins. How long will they last like that?
ReplyDeleteI don’t shop in Walmart. Apparently, I am missing a lot.
What creations! They are beautiful and so danged creative. Andthe poetry with it, you 'done good!' Fall brings out more of the artist in you.
ReplyDeleteProbably a little cool air!
This visit was a joy! Thanks
Sherry & jack
Your pumpkin is lovely but I just can't break away from the traditional oranges, reds, yellows & browns of fall!!!! I'm a traditional kind of girl:) Now about that dress!!!!!!! Wonder who his designer is???
ReplyDeleteOh dear! A bearded dude in a dress! He needs to watch reruns of What Not To Wear daily until further notice. As for your decor, I can't figure out what's better: your pumpkins or your poetry. I think it's a wash. A whitewash, haaaahahaha xoxo
ReplyDeleteHi sweet friend,
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up! Gotta love Walmart for a little entertainment in your shopping day. Love the chalk painted pumpkin and the cute poem. Happy Monday.
Kris
Love the cute poem and the pumpkins turned out great!!
ReplyDeleteOh Walmart, did you realize when you went into business you would inspire a whole world of um...er... fashion?!
ReplyDeleteVery, very pretty! And I love that last pic!
ReplyDeleteLove the poem and those pretty pumpkins. I have a few blooms that I need to bring inside. Have a beautiful day dear friend, HUGS!
ReplyDeleteAgggh.. I can't unsee that last image! Now, what were we talking about?
ReplyDeleteWell, what a cute poem....Then the end....Some things you can’t unsee, but I was warned.
ReplyDeleteLisa
I'm catching up with you this morning Diana. I LOVED the Marty McFly costume. So cute and original. And homemade. So many kids no longer use their creativity.
ReplyDeleteThe Santa in a dress gave me a giggle!
I love your pumpkin poem and the pumpkins too. Although I do love the bright cheerful look of orange pumpkins, I added some white ones to my decor this year too. I didn't make mine, but bought them at the dollar store. Yours are glow- orous!
ReplyDeleteLove your pumpkin poem. I hope the paparazzi doesn't follow my hubby to Lowes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for always making me smile
Cindy
You're so cute, Diana! Bringing a smile to those of us who love you.
ReplyDeletexoxo
You are too funny.. So you went a little crazy with the white! They look good. I don't know where you find the time. Love your poem... You are loaded with talent! Walmart...yuk.. I never go there. I guess it's a good thing because I don't have a dress to wear. Enjoy the rest of your week.xxoo
ReplyDeleteThat last pic is such a hoot! Have a great week. cheers from Carole's Chatter
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with your blog. You always make me smile and I thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteNow, I don't think the dress was the right fit for him ,but the shoes are kinda cute.
Nonie
Love your words, love your pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Hi Diana,
ReplyDeleteCute poem and pumpkin post
Walmart guy..lol
hugs,Patty
Diana, your poem, as well as your paint brush, are exceptionally outstanding!. Love it all and the Walmart guy is something else entirely, but I guess if you feel it is right then anything goes! Even a witch would approve of that concept..Happy Tuesday..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteLOL .. cute my friend.. not the fella at Walmart.. your poems.
ReplyDeletexx oo

You are a lady of many talents. When they handed talent out, they missed me. I have written a few poems in the past, but that did not last long. Glad you are doing well. I have not been visiting much lately. Been under more stress than usual and that is hard on old folks.
ReplyDeleteNice creative pumpkins and a lovely poem. Very nice, Diana.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins are cute. Creative painting and that darling poem. My husband always says he see weird people at Walmart, either lying down or. I know you are extremely busy. thinking of you. xo
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, here while you were painting your pumpkins with great love and respect, I let my poor pumpkins freeze to death. And now their squishy little bodies are covered with snow. I feel so ashamed. xo
ReplyDeleteOh my....what a dress! HAHA and he has one the shoes too! Makes me totally wonder about people and when I see things like this I want to hide! haha....love the pumpkin poem. I used to paint my real pumpkin but I painted faces on mine, never just spray painted one. But its been many yrs since I have had a real pumpkin. However if I did not sure I would paint it cause the pigs at the farm LOVE pumpkin and I would want to take it to them when done....They got all my watermelon rhine. Love that too. Hoping you are doing well.
ReplyDeleteOh Diana, you always bring a smile to my face :) Indeed, always put on your nicest dress when visiting Wal-Mart.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkin looks wonderful and I simply love the transformation. Hugs to you, my friend!
Sweet pumpkin make over. I love when people redo instead of throwing out and buying new. This is a great way to have the latest style and not spend a lot of hard earned cash. As for the Walmart dresser . . . it's crazy isn't it? This summer while our granddaughters were here we showed them some Walmart dressers on You Tube . . . we had a great time laughing :)
ReplyDeleteDiana, I would never have thought to paint the pumpkin, but it looks lovely. The more subdued color would certainly fit better with my décor. Thank you so much for your well wishes last week. Getting better every day and even managed a new recipe for today.
ReplyDeleteHi D! Yesterday, Plum Cake said, "Granny, you didn't carve your pumpkins!" I hate pumpkin guts but I love pumpkins and want them around until Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're doing well, good girl.
Well you talented lady! What a cute poem and cute way of dressing up your pumpkin and gourd display. LOL - personally, I HATE Walmart . . . as much as they get a bad 'rap' with all of the photos like the one you posted, it seems like the rare times I DO go in . . . I actually experience these things myself! Haha! Poor Walmart.
ReplyDeleteGood afternoon sweetie! Checking in and seeing how life is treating you. I'm busy, but one day I'd like not to be! :)
ReplyDeleteDear Lord! and I don't mean about the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteOh Diana,, I can always count on you to bring a smile to my face!! Your pumpkin and gourd look so beautifully transformed. Happy weekend to you! xx
