While the momma's away
the girls will play!Momma Cat is off on a
belated honeymoon
(in Canada)
Yeah- I know- who goes to Canada
this time of year, right?
I am staying with the girls
while their mom is gone.
On Saturday, I took two
of the girls
to the
Christmas Fantasy House in
Milwaukee, WI.
Grandgirl#3 was engaged in
tryouts with her dad.
All proceeds from the walk go to the
RONALD McDONALD HOUSE!
Always before it has been a
mom/daughter/daughter-in-law
Christmas walk here in our own town.
Sadly, they have cancelled the
Christmas walk the last two year...
so--on to a new tradition, I guess.

Ready for a peek?
Bear with me on the pictures.
I am having a terrible time with the new
PicMonkey---don't get me started.
Anyone else having problems?
Anyway- the
~FANTASY HOUSE~
was beyond amazing.
Each decorator took a different room
in the multi-million dollar home.
Here are some of the things we saw:
Staircase side of the living room.
The bows on the stairwell post
The living room was lovely-
The kitchen was decorated by:
READY?
Goodwill!!!! LOL
Yes. It.Was.
There were garden stakes behind the headboard in
one of the guest bedrooms:
and that guest bathroom was delightful.
A dress form dressed for Christmas
A trio of trees in a bedroom
A little girls's room in pink and silver
There were elves in the laundry room
They had hung their clothes to dry:
There were elf wreaths on hangers, too.
Every little boy's room needs a
Christmas teepee, right?
There was so much more to see-
but I won't overload you with pictures.
I don't decorate for Christmas until after
THANKSGIVING
but it was fun to look and dream and plan.
Oh--and just so you know--
I did NOT wash my hands in
THIS SINK!!!!
Would you believe that I did not get a
picture of the two girls together?
BAD NANA!!!
And for those of you that
DRINK A LOT OF WINE-
Save those corks.
Then you, too, can make
ornaments like these!
uh..huh...
just don't be working with the hot glue gun
to make these
WHILE YOU ARE DRINKING WINE.
You're welcome!
I may take up drinking myself---
I have 3 teen/pre-teen girls to
"lead to good decisions"
for the week!
Lordy--pray for me, will ya?
You'll act just like a teenager too...if I know you! What a beautiful event...WOWZA! I can't imagine that many pretty decorations! Makes me anxious to decorate though! Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteLooks like SUCH a fun time. That house is gorgeous!!! I don't decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving too . . . but it seems like I'm in the minority. Our daughter put her tree up this weekend, and her outdoor Christmas lights. With the snow we've had I guess it IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Love ya girl!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photo's, Diana!
ReplyDeleteI'm not as much of a decorator these days but I love seeing others.
You are going to have so much fun with the girls. It makes life so beautiful being together.
xoxo
Beautiful! I always have a problem with these houses, because I don't just want to look at the decor, I want to shop!! Maybe that should be an option on the last day! ;) And yup, PicMonkey is a pain now. It's basically Photoshop, which is so confusing and the reason why I went to PicMonkey instead. Right now, I'm clicking on the button that says Use Old PicMonkey? Um...yes please...but who knows how long that option is going to last! Yikes. Enjoy the girls!!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the tour. I went on a 'Tour of Homes" once and really liked seeing how each home was decorated. Knowing you, I know you'll do good being a great influence on your granddaughters this week, just have fun with them while you can. Just don't start up drinking wine this week, OK?
ReplyDeleteWell Diana - the house was gorgeous and so were the rooms. A little much for my taste for my home - lol - I don't have any rooms big enough. Hard to believe that houses are that big and people live in them. I do love their beauty, but you know I don't think I would like to live there. You?
ReplyDeleteHow fun! Very pretty rooms with lots of decor ideas for us all.
ReplyDeletePeople should come to Canada at any time of the year. We are friendly, welcoming and enjoy visitors. And you are not in danger of being shot when you walk down the street.
ReplyDeleteWe used to do tours of homes for Christmas with the girls in Ohio and it was truly lovely seeing the different ideas people had. It was a great day, you paid one fee and followed the map and met some lovely people. Wish they had something like that here.... Looks like you had a good day. Christmas will be here before we know it and I'm not ready for it this year....
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Jill
WOW! That's a lot of Christmas cheer for sure...... xo
ReplyDeleteI love the kitchen, goes to show it doesn't take a lot of money to decorate a room.
ReplyDeleteWow! That was amazing! You had me with that Goodwill decorated kitchen!
ReplyDeleteHang in there! You do well with your grands!
Ooh what an enjoyable place to visit! I love seeing these kinds of holiday displays. Have fun with the grand girls! We just got home from a trip to find 8+ inches of snow so going to Canada isn’t high on my list but if you like to ski or such I can imagine it’s beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful time I had touring the Christmas house with you. Okay so it was just online, but I felt I was with you. I am now getting excited about doing some decorating. I was going to skip it this year.
ReplyDeleteNonie
WOW! I wish I could jump into your pictures and live there {{smiles}} What a fun adventure you had, my friend.
ReplyDeleteHugs to you!
So lovely to see, I really enjoyed my tour with you :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous pictures.
All the best Jan
Lots of creative ideas at the Christmas Fantasy House. I enjoyed browsing through the pics and getting some ideas. Goodwill actually has some good stuff. When Jess had her bridal shower, we found many of the tea cups there that we used for favors. The garden stakes look great behind the headboard. I would have never thought of that. I love the pink and silver in the girl's room. And those elves are delightful. I have to have my elves at Christmas time too. I've seen these teepees on a friend's blog, and I want to make one for Francesca and Mia someday - their own little space. Oh, your post makes me want to start decorating, Diana haha.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
I live in Canada and the snow makes Christmas a Wonderland Christmas. Us Canadians are tough when winter is upon us.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog my dear. Love. love all those adorable Delightful things to bring in the Christmas with on the doors, and on the Christmas tree..
Diana, I am praying for you and absolutely the girls. LOL Aren't they growing too quickly, squeeze them down. LOL I love all the cute decorating in that house. Good way to raise funds , for the Ronald McDonald house. Hope you get lots of hugs and laughs while with the girls. Blessings to all of you, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun fantasy Christmas House...still smiling! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeletesome great ideas and tips I see here.. its amazing! Don't worry. I always keep you in my prayers,,
ReplyDeleteThose granddaughters are in for so much fun with you, Diana! But of course you are in heaven with them. I love Christmas open houses! This one is so pretty and for a great cause. I love that Goodwill furnished the kitchen, but then it has furnished much of my house over the years too.
ReplyDeleteWow!! Over-the-top for me, but quite beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteSomeone gave me a cork Christmas tree ornament similar to that last year and I have 144 corks, getting ready to make them for my Cork Popper pals for Christmas! Love all the touches in this fabulous spot. The elf clothes hanging are extra cute! (Nobody is allowed anywhere NEAR where my laundry is!) Thanks for sharing this and have a wonderful getaway. Sounds fun, romantic and very special!
ReplyDeleteI love to go to homes like that and steal ideas! No decorating here till the first of December this year. It is all coming too fast and I am resisting!
ReplyDeleteOh I do adore a great house tour. This was fun and my favorite things were the trees above the bed. If your grands are like my grands, no one will see them ever again. 🙃
ReplyDeleteHi Diana! This year's house was one of the prettiest they've had in awhile. It's always beautiful, but this year there was lots of personality! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy those girls! Jane
ReplyDeleteDiana, I love those kinds of open houses, and the red, black and white is a tempting color scheme. Might be a Christmas one in my future. Great pics, what is the problem? And, what is the NEW PicMonkey? I haven't even mastered the OLD one yet! Have fun with the girls, you can handle it!!..xxoJudy
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness . That looks like so much fun . Loving the different decorated rooms . So glad you all had fun making a new tradition and a new memory for those grand girls. Hugs and blessings , Cindy
ReplyDeleteA little too much for me. Less is best, is my motto. But some cute ideas.
ReplyDeleteWow they are sure some beautiful decorations. I enjoy house tours.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL tour! I loved it!
ReplyDeleteAnd praying for you with the girls....
Everything is so pretty. My aunt does her sinks and bathtub like that. Why in the world???
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I do not decorate for Christmas until after Thanksgiving usually, but I will admit, I have taken down all my Fall decor. I was tired of looking at all the orange and browns. I may start sneaking in Christmas.
Lisa
Love the guest bathroom! It is all so beautiful and CHRSTMASY! I know the girls had a great time. I just cannot imagine that much decorations, the the beauty is worth it.
ReplyDeleteI think you did great on the photography! In the coach, Sherry decorates the dash and I love it. (Not sure this yer yet!)
Thanks for the tour.
Sherry & jack
What fun! I won't decorate until after Thanksgiving (it's what I do on Black Friday- no shopping for this girl) but it's fun to look and plan. Enjoy your grandgirls. Y'all are going to have a blast!
ReplyDelete😊Cecilia
I wait until after Thanksgiving as well but holy cow that house is amazing!! I love to see different decorating techniques so I'm grateful for the tour, you took some incredible photos! You'll be a changed woman after spending time with the grandgirls, I can only imagine the fun you all are going to have!!!

How Pretty Diana. Glad you got to go. I know you always enjoyed this tour. Have fun with the girls.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Kris
What fun! Love to see the ideas that people have for decorating. I'm not quite that creative...and with trying to sell our house I am not planning too much elaborate decorating for this year. But this was fun to see. Thank you for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous decorations! I would love ALL of this in my home. I am going to share this post with my Daughter! She will be decorating for their first Christmas in their new house:) She will be using lots of silver/white:) Enjoy your day dear friend! HUGS
ReplyDeleteAll the decorations are beautiful, even the Goodwill! Of course, I already knew about decorating from Goodwill. :) Good luck with the girls. I bet they all are sweet as can be.
ReplyDeleteAwwww! You're the best and the FUN Nana! The decorations are all just gorgeous! What a beautiful sight to see every day. I'm content with lights and a tree and my nativity sets! But I love looking at others' decorations. Goodwill? Really?
ReplyDeleteI just found this post in spam. Imagine that! Gorgeous decorations. Gave me some ideas. I can imagine you and three teenage girls. Try to behave yourselves ...the guest bathroom is very nice.. Very creative. Thanks for the tour. Have fun.xxoo
ReplyDeleteTHREE pre teen girls? You may need something a little stronger like, Valium? LOL.. That house was truly beautiful but I tell ya, I wouldn't want to clean it! LOL.. I just discovered that PicMonkey got a makeover the other day and honestly, I'm not liking it. It was so much easier to use before but I will get used too it over time I guess. I hope you're having a good week with the girls!
ReplyDeleteXO
I like the swirly trees on the wall behind the bed in that one photo. Glad you had a fun time!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun that was!!! I love things like that but don't think to get to them often enough. So pretty. And I bet the grandkids love spending time with you, Diana. And if they don't, just send them to my house for a day. LOL God bless you. xo
ReplyDeleteDiana, You are such an incredible Nana; in fact, I think you should be elected Nana of the Year!!! Your grands are so blessed to have you. Love all the inspiration; like you I usually don't decorate before Thanksgiving, but my brother and sil are coming and it crossed my mind-however our youngest daughter will have her house done by Thanksgiving, because we are having a girlie tea on Friday and she wants it festive. Today I woke up with a very swollen eye-a Stye I believe and though I've done some sewing, I'm now tired and not in the mood to do anything but veg. Have a great evening!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Noreen
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful and fun to be with your grandchildren with such a lovely and great Nanna Dianna.
This is all Christmas Eye Candy for all of us and I can just imagine the grands !
I'm starting to fix my C'mas home as I already posted my Thanksgiving table. It doesn't matter if around it it'll be C'mas on our thankful day.
Hugs,
Fabby
This is lovely. I would love to visit.
ReplyDeleteYou are a very good Nana and no worries there! Now I understand why it's called Fantasy House. The decorations are over the top beautiful. It a little too much for me and this year keeping it simple. Maybe the ornaments in the sink are turned into the soapy water when wet? Enjoy the rest of the time with the grandkids and that your daughter is enjoying her belated honeymoon!
ReplyDeleteHope you're having fun with the girls, Diana. Somehow I suspect they LOVE having you with them. Nana mayhem, lol. Love the Fantasy House. My house BN looks like that in my fantasy too. 😜
ReplyDelete*strike BN. I swear, my keyboard has a mind of own.
DeleteWhat fun!! I would love to walk through that house, how inspiring to see all those different styles of Christmas decor!!
ReplyDeleteOH WOW....I love it all except the balls in the sink! haha...gotta wash those hands! Going back to check out your link to the house which by the way the outside and drawing of it is amazing. As for picmonkey, I only use it from time to time but I have my programs at home I use more often.
ReplyDeleteoops....there was not a link...haha. My duh moment.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous place! I wouldn't know where to start, to decorate so lavishly. But good for you, taking the girls and helping to lead them to good decisions, haaahaaha! I plan to put my tree up before Thanksgiving and light it up that night! We'll see how that works out. Happy Thanksgiving season to you! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSome of those decorations are just to die for. I am just in love with several of them.
ReplyDeletexx
I hope the honeymooners went somewhere like Victoria or Vancouver in British Columbia, where there's at least a fighting chance of moderate November weather. In Edmonton, we have 4 inches of snow right now apparently -- but we're still blissfully in Maui so it's not affecting us -- yet.
ReplyDeleteWow, what a fantastic tour you took us on. Lots of great ideas to decorate your house. What's up with the ornaments in the sink, kind of weird. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day! The house was gorgeous !!! I can’t talk about Pic Monkey either. We will decorate after Thanksgiving too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
