YOUR LAUGH FOR THE DAY- THE DISAPPEARING GUM DROP TREE

This happened several years ago
but I have never posted it before.

Imagine 2 boys
sharing a room.
One is 15 and one is 5.

Every room in the house has a
TREE of some sort.

The BOYS' ROOM
got the
GUMDROP TREE.

Isn't it pretty?

So---what happens when the
FIVE YEAR OLD
decides to
EAT ALL THE GUMDROPS?

Well, he want
SOME KIND OF ORNAMENT
on the branches to hide his dirty deed!

Here is a
FIVE YEAR OLD SOLUTION
to bare
GUMDROP TREE BRANCHES.

Wish you could have seen the
FACE OF THE 15 YEAR OLD
storming out of the room
DEMANDING that we take
THAT TREE OUT
of his room.
He knew EXACTLY what was
on the tree...
The five year old?
Clueless!

Did you ever laugh so hard
you almost wet your pants?
Insert THAT picture here!!!

Off to celebrate with
THE FAMILY-
Both boys are grown now
and share their lives with each other--
but no longer want to share a room....

We will have 17 kids there today
and I dasn't count the #of adults!
Have a beautiful
Day After Christmas!

I am
OKAY! OKAY!
I might have lied about the
SWEET part!

  3. HAHA....a TAMPON tree. Love it. WHen my daughter was born 37 yrs ago the nurse at her docs office had a tree on her desk....it was a small limb (twig) from a tree, stuck in styrofoam and put in a pot, hanging from the stick was a cartridge from a gun...it was a cartridge in a bare tree! I had one for years but finally did a way with it. Keep that in mind for your trees! I love the gumdrop tree....

  10. OMG thats hilarious. I think it should be a Christmas Tradition! I mean, Just look how the leg lamp took off! Hahaha.
I had a vintage gumball tree this year. I had been looking for one and my sister found one for me. It was loaded with gum drops just like grandma used to do.

  11. When my sister was 5 she would make doll beds out of kotex napkins, so 5 year olds are quite the resourceful bunch!!!! That's so funny but at least they had hangers and everything. LOL!

I hope you had a nice Christmas with your family and I wish you a Happy New Year. I was so thankful that we had a Christmas without hospitals, doctors and nurses this year. We feel blessed. I'm sure you can relate.

    hugs,
    Sissie

  14. That Christmas Tree is hilarious for those who haven’t had to think about tampons in years and years. I ate my gumdrops before they ever made it to the vintage tree this year. Time saver🎄Linda@Wetcreek Blog

  15. Love those kinds of stories!! It sounds like you had a super full and festive house. I miss those days. My sisters' kids have kids of their own now and live all over the country. Our giant family get togethers of 30 or more have now become a lot more intimate. I kind of miss those crazy kid filled fun day. Kind of. I don't miss cooking for all of them. 😉

  20. LOL Love the gum ball replacements! Reminds me of what happened to my sister-in-law years ago...she had my brother cut out wooden snowman shapes and she painted them. She used rocks painted black for eyes, a plastic carrot for the noses, and wanted candy for the mouths. She decided to use tampons wrapped in colored cellophane as candy and glued them in place for the mouths. Well, it rarely rains in CA but one night it did and she woke to see her snowmen looking like they were foaming at the mouth! Was soooo funny!!!

  21. OMGoodness are you joking about the number of people there? LOVE the gum drop tree. What a great idea, I must remember that for another year. I really missed decorating this year. Ah well, roll on Spring...........we have so much snow that's hard to even imagine.
    Happy New Year. Luv Janice

  24. Oh my goodness! Too funny! And you are sweet....and twisted.. a perfect candy cane! I have a similar story a friend told me about when he was a kid. Kinda gross but funny. He was playing army combat outside with his friends and needed some realistic looking bandages. He went through the garbage and found USED sanitary pads. They used them on their heads for head wounds. EWWWWWWW. Maybe I shouldn't have shared that :-)
