Life is funny,
isn't it?
We are ending the year-
Some of us are happy to see it end-
Some of us feel sorrow.
There have been endings this year
for some of us.
I think of bj-Sweet Nothings
and sweet Leena-Pink Cherub Moon
both lost husbands this past year-
and their sorrow still hangs heavy.
Many more of you lost family members-
too many to mention here.
However, to balance that
we have
NEW BABIES & GRANDBABIES-
are just two that come to mind.
We have enjoyed wonderful
We have enjoyed wonderful
GIRLFRIEND PARTIES-
and too many more births and
GOOD TIMES
to mention.
Some of us moved into
NEW HOMES
and blogged about it-
Marty-AStroll Thru Life
and
Penny-Enjoying the Simple Things.
Many of us
STOPPED BLOGGING
and are immersed in
INSTAGRAM
FACEBOOK
and other
SOCIAL MEDIA.
I miss some of the
old blogging days
but life changes and
we need to move forward.
We need to embrace new ideas and outlets-
no matter how hard it is for us.

I have laughed with you as
you told funny stories about your families
and life in general.
I have cried with you at your losses
and prayed for you as you,
or family members,
struggled with cancer and/or
ill health.
Many challenges are ahead of us
in the upcoming year
but I have faith that there
are many joys there, too.
I will be back to share more
about what is happening in
our lives
in a few days.
BIG CHANGES
going on here again.

CHRISTMAS-
just a sweet reminder that
the Holiday has come and gone.
Sweet Memories

Diana, Thank you for the good wishes. I agree with you about how the end means different things to different people. I too wish all our blog family the best. I feel heartache for many. I know that change seems to be the way, but oh dear I love blogging and reading blogs and Instagram isn't enough and face book can be so darn mean at times. My dear new friend, I wish you and yours a healthy, happy new year. Hugs the children for me. xoxo, love you, Susie
ReplyDeleteAren’t we brave striking off into the unknown?! Course we can have the best Guide in the universe if we but ask...
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet Diana. The years seem to move forward too quickly. Not sure if it is because I am getting older or what!!!! I love blogging too and the wonderful friendships shared but blogging is taking a back seat to some of the newer social media spots like Instagram etc. Change is inevitable. Thank you for becoming such a great friend these past few years. I treasure every minute of our times spent together off and on the computer. You have a heart bigger than anyone I know. I have so enjoyed how you embrace friends here in blogland and have laughed, cried, prayed and shared stories with all of us. You're a keeper and I look so forward to sharing our friendship in the new year. Luv ya girlfriend.

I loved this post, Diana, and your very special words to go along with it. Change is definitely part of our lives, some are good and some not so good, but we try to deal with them all. I love your daughter's home and front porch. Now, you have to tell me why she's moving. I'm looking forward to hearing the BIG changes coming up for you too.

Happy New Year Diana!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Diana! I pray it is a good one for you and your family!
ReplyDeleteLife is always changing...I'm hoping for good changes this year! xoxo
Diana, your style of blogging is and will always be my favorite. We old school gals, many of which you mentioned in your post, are a special group of bloggers. We do it for fun and it is a creative outlet that gives us happiness and allows us to share both the good and the bad. I love what you said about crying and laughing and praying along with the rest of us...that truly strikes a cord with me because I feel the same. I wish you a very Happy New Year full of love and good health. I know that no matter where the New Year takes us that we will give it our best.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year.
hugs,
Sissie
Hi Diana
ReplyDeletehard to believe the year is drawing to a close. And yes, there are both good and bad times for so many. I'm always more than ready to see a new year begin, and have a bit of a break from the busyness of the holidays.
I'm missing the "old days" of blogging too, but as you say, things change and we should at least try to keep up with them, I guess!:)
Hope 2018 brings good things to you and your family!
lots of love to you!
Happy new year dear.. waiting to see the big changes you are talking about..
ReplyDeleteIt's been quite a year, hasn't it? 2017 brought about change for our family for sure! Some expected, some not, some good, some sad...but one thing remained, we serve a Mighty God who gave us nothing we couldn't handle without him by our side. I know we will face change in the coming year as well, but I personally am trying to face them with a much better attitude than this year because sometimes change is God's way of redirecting back to Him and His path for our lives. Anything He wants for us truly is far better than anything we could dream up! Ok, I am thinking this is going to turn in to a blog post of its own. Thanks for inspiring me to look inwards as always sweet friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Diana! God bless you, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWe will move forward, some of us kicking and screaming. A new year ahead! I am going to try really hard to drag this year out as if in slow motion❤️ Have a blessed new year, I will pray for ALL who have had losses and sadness🙏🏼. I will keep those close in pray who have had sickness🙏🏼. I will rejoice with those who have great things happening. Sending HUGS and PRAYERS your way.
ReplyDeleteGreat post. Sweet, bj. I think of and pray for her often. I can't wait to hear of your changes.
ReplyDeleteWe all get to know our favorite bloggers and care about each and every one of them. It's been a hard year for so many but as you mentioned there have been a lot of things to celebrate. I appreciate that you keep us in the loop on so many of these! Blessings to you my friend and Happy New Year! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like 2018 will be a year of change for us too...at least if things continue to proceed. Yes, it has definitely been a year of blessings and sorrows but God has been there through it all. I don't know how anyone gets through life without Him. Looking forward to hearing what's on the horizon for you in 2018. I am glad to have gotten to "know" you this year! Happy New Year, my friend! ♥
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post! Wishing you a wonderful 2018!!
